Longmen Grottoes: I've seen them in photos for decades, and finally got to see them with my own eyes. The real thing is much more beautiful and grander than the photos. If you visit this place, I recommend staying in Luoyang for a night. The caves are not far from the city center, about a 30-minute taxi ride away. The site is very spacious, with beautiful trees planted along the paths. The area is clean, and the surrounding atmosphere is excellent. The cave itself is in perfect condition, with some restoration work underway. It's worth a visit, and you won't be disappointed.
