Hokkaido Otaru check-in guide + food!

🌟Take the JR train from Sapporo Station to JR Otaru Station, which takes about 50 minutes. The sea view along the way (picture 2) is really beautiful when looking out of the window. 🌟The main road facing you after exiting the station leads straight to the seaside. Just keep walking along the main road and you will reach the seaside (see Figure 9). You will pass by a location 2 intersections away from the seaside where you can see the Otaru Canal (see Figure 1). If you're hungry, you can go to the nearby Triangle Market to grab a bite. The seafood there is fresh (pic 13), but not particularly cheap. After eating, head back to JR Otaru Station and take the Tenguyama Bus for about 20 minutes to Tenguyama Ski Resort. From there, take the cable car up to Mt. Tengu (pics 19-21) for a bird's-eye view of Otaru. (There are also direct buses from Sapporo to Tenguyama, and the itinerary can be adjusted as Otaru is really small.) On the way back, near the Nishi-Otaru Station, there is the famous Japanese dessert shop LeTAO main store (see pictures 19-20). You can go to the second floor to have a very cheap set meal for 2380 yen, which includes 2 drinks and 3 cakes. You can also go up to the top floor to see the snow scenery of Otaru.
