Delta Hotels St. John's Conference Centre

Core area of St. Johns
Our bus group stayed 4 nights at the Delta. My husband was not feeling well and just wanted to eat poached eggs and toast. The kitchen and servers were very accommodating. Peggy and Pauline who worked the breakfast buffet were phenomenal and I really appreciated their kindness. The other hotel staff was good too and despite the illness we had a good stay.

I booked this hotel by mistake, as I was looking for a hotel in Saint John, not St. John’s. Goes to show, make sure you don’t assume things. Also, don’t book hotels when you’re about to go to sleep and haven’t had good sleep for a couple of consecutive nights. Lesson learned.
Fairfield Inn & Suites St. John's Newfoundland

Stayed last night with my mother on a cash & points night. Check in was fairly easy but we were not given any information on the amenities of the hotel or the breakfast hours. Room was fine however the bathroom fan did not work and the pumps of the shampoo/conditioner/body wash were crusty and built up with old product. Electronic outputs are older models (no usb). Beds were comfy. Cleanliness of the hotel could be worked on but we attributed it to it being a holiday weekend and quiet. Will give the hotel another shot in a few months.

Everything was great. Super clean, comfy beds and awesome selection of pillows. Big hot tub but the pool was kinda small but definitely worked for us (not complaining just saying). The staff was lovely and helpful. The location was

This has always been a favourite of ours. But it has gone downhill. Pool was frigid, not as clean as it used to be. Clumps of hair on the side (in the same spots for both days so not sure when they clean), a brown film on the top of the hot tub. Room was nice but some garbage left from previous guests and the heat didn’t work. Breakfast is no longer included with a stay and the options and prices for the breakfast sent us out early to find food elsewhere. The kids had an awesome time with their friends but I will choose another spot for our next adventure as it didn’t feel worth the $190 to be cold the whole time and mildly grossed out at the pool.
Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland
4.2/5103 Reviews
Core area of St. Johns
This hotel is ideally located just steps from nice cafes and the main downtown district while somehow being separate from any bustle. St. John’s is a very hilly city and this Sheraton is on top of a rise, so heading into the action is a downhill stroll. The rooms are comfortable, though many hotels in Newfoundland only offer rooms with two double beds instead of two queens, including this one, which was the main disappointment. The hotel lives up to Marriott standards, with attentive housekeeping and a great restaurant. Newfie hospitality was on full display, with the staff all being friendly and helpful, especially Ashley at the front desk and Jacquina (not sure if I spelled that right) at the restaurant. This is a good hotel to choose for your stay in St. John’s.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites ST John's Airport

We overnighted here after flying into St John's and picking up our rental car at the airport. The hotel is right across the street from the airport. We had a NS, King with fridge, microwave, coffee maker. There was a sofa bed and coffee table as well as desk and chair. Also chair and ottoman, very large room. everything was well kept and clean. Bathroom had walk in shower and was very clean. A couple of dining choices within walking distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rate was decent for location. Glad we stayed here and would stay again.

We booked two rooms at this hotel travelling with two families. We booked a hotel based on the pool and waterslides upon going to the pool in the evening. The waterslides were closed despite calling before booking to ensure that the slides would be open. We were told that this was the first evening that the pools would be open along with the slides on a non-weekend for the summer. Therefore, we booked two rooms. We ended up with very upset kids who were unable to use sides. Upon calling the front desk the receptionist told us that there was a sign up, indicating that the pool was supposed to be open with the slides, but the message didn’t get pass along to staff. She told me she would follow up on it and call me back however she never did. I also sent an email to the hotel outlining the concerns and no one ever emailed me back. We stayed on the first floor the first rooms pass a beauty salon. They were cobwebs in the window and mould on the wall. There was no conditioner in the shower, and when we tried to use shampoo, the middle holding fell off, landing on the floor of the shower.. we are not picky travellers but the money we spent to stay here for multiple families, and not having the slides and being provided or false advertisement, and no one following up with us is not good enough for the price we paid.

I had an incident where the shower the first day was crap, so bad that we looked at other hotels to stay at right away. I made a slight comment to the made and she said I'll have maintenance look at it. Now, I fully expected to have to call down to the front desk when we got back from our day, then prepare to go else where when it wasn't fixed. However, after the one comment it was all taken care of by maintenance before we got back from the day. I never saw the maid again to say thank you but that was amazing customer service. If fact this boutique chain hotel exuded customer service. Everyone was nice and efficient, bar restaurant staff were helpful, knowledgeable and nice personable. They seem to love to go the extra mile. The food was basic in the hotel but very good. If they good get a lobster dish I bet more people would eat there, but really it was well attended. I am always happy when my impress of the hotel is changed. I love it. Nice clean and pleasant, what more can you ask for. Plus beds were really comfortable! Thank you for a great stay!
Monastery Hotel

Had an overnight is Monastery Spa & Hotel. Checked in late, upgraded to whirlpool room, and enjoyed a couple of ***** Brewery sours while watching US Open conclusion from the whirlpool. Better than the club!!! Room was nice, large, clean with good space. Bathroom was tidy, should have two sinks with space. Shower was nice, hot with good water pressure. Plenty of clean towels. Bed was old; really. Badly need new mattress and bed springs (it is bowed). Staff is delightful; young, from all over and very attentive. Thank you. Breakfast was delightful. Enjoy.
