Hotel was a good stay. I only needed to stay to go to my passport appointment in the morning but if i needed to go somewhere cheap and in the heart of Myeongdong street it would be here.

The service of the counter staff is very considerate, the location and transportation are very convenient, and the overall is not bad.

The room is small and there is no toothbrush and toothpaste but you can get it from the vending machine in the lobby. They only provide bottle water on the first day but you can get water outside room 3 of every floor. The shower and toilet are beside each other so after shower everything will be wet. The water pressure is fine if no one turn on tap at the sink outside at the same time. If they do, the water will temperature will be a bit unstable and preasure will be weaker. AC is fine but the first day you use it, there could be dust fall out onto the bed. You can borrow a luggage trolley from the lobby, which is very convenient if you leave with lots of luggage and not enough hand to push all of them down to the lobby and to the bus stop outside. The bus stop and a lot of shopping mall are outside so it is very convenient. There are lots of good food behind HelloApm, which is close by. Found two places with the face of the famous Korean Chef who is always on variety show. The lobby staffs nicely helped me search for food too.

Convenient location at Coex, nicely arranged apar**ents with a super cosy bed. Attentive staff, really good coffee at the cafe downstairs. Restaurants and convenience stores in basements. Good gym and pool. Would come back anytime.

The room is nice and the service is good. It's on the old street with convenient transportation. It's very convenient to take a taxi. The breakfast is very poor. Suitable for a family or a group of people traveling on business, the price is quite reasonable

There is the 6001 airport bus stop at the door, and there are two convenience stores and a money exchange downstairs. The exchange rate is similar to Myeongdong! Located right between Euljiro 4th Street and Dongdaemun, it only takes 8 minutes to walk to Gwangjang Market. There are 3 lines crossing Dongdaemun, so it’s convenient to go anywhere~ For those who have booked a one-day trip to Nami Island, the meeting point is at Dongdaemun The DDP Designer Hotel we ordered is only about a 10-minute walk away! The room is clean and has a large table that can be used by two people. The floor space is large and can spread out three large suitcases. People who want to batch goods need a large space. If you extend your stay, the trash will be taken out and towels will be changed every day!

Every time you use the Somerset Hotel, you feel comfortable with a leisurely space. Big bedroom and bathroom, kitchen.. and living room.. far out, but it provides comfort like our home. Breakfast is clean and full of attentiveness. Korean style .. It was very good because it was rich in salad.

It was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Makes you feel rich. There is also a kitchen, so you can warm up the food you take out. Since there is a university nearby, there are many food restaurants that are open until late, so the location is great. A department store is also right next door. I want to stay here again.

This used to be my favorite in Seoul, and I stuck with it even though the furniture, walls and floors were so banged up even 5 years ago that the place needed a renovation. My last stay has convinced me it is time to give up on this place. Where the issues in the past used to be mostly cosmetic, now they are fundamental. First, our rooms—see attached photos. Dirty with defective windows (bathroom and bedroom, with an obvious impact on the room temperature). Clearly no one had cleaned that shower properly in a long time, and the floor manager did not check properly. Clearly also no one had checked the condition of the windows in a long time, or (my suspicion) had decided not to do anything about it. Remarkable the response of the staff when shown the photos of the ice: ”It was especially cold last night”—as if temperatures below -10 degrees Centigrade were not common in Seoul *every winter*. We changed rooms, the new one was better and got a thorough cleaning before we moved in, but cleaning continued to be hit and miss, and the windows in that room were leaky as well. The bedroom in particular, with windows on two sides, had a persistent icy draft. We made it bearable by putting lots of pillows and cushions against the windows and using tissues, towels and packing tape to seal some of the gaps. (I still cannot believe that this was needed, in Korea, in 2021, in a building that is maybe 15 years old...) Usually if something is this badly wrong, you would expect a proactive effort to compensate the guest. Not so in this case. We finally managed to get some compensation, but why the guest should have to push for this when the hotel clearly did not live up to its end of the bargain—a clean room that offers protection from the elements, at least—is a mystery to me. During this entire process, no senior management was ever seen. It seems like the MD never interacts with the guests—which perhaps explains the state of disrepair. Nor does his direct report. Everything was left to junior managers without decision power. And just as I thought we had somehow reached a livable resolution, the final chapter: The hotel had pre-charged my credit card for the entire stay at the beginning—for 3 weeks. No problem, one would think, except that the final charge was lower because of the compensation offered. So what did they do? Charge back the original amount and the re-charge for the new total. Predictable result: I lost about 5% of the total sum in credit card transaction fees, or about 1 night's worth. When I pointed this out during check-out, I was told this was the only way they could do it. So in sum: room condition, cleanliness, complaint management, and accounting were all deficient. So on everything that really counts as basic, performance was abysmal. In retrospect, we should have moved out.

There is a hotel near Gangnam Station, Shinbundang Line, not Line 2. Of course, you can also access Line 2. The hotel is a residence type. There is a kitchen, microwave, and washer/dryer in the room. The room has a partition between the living room and the bedroom, so it can be separated. The living room is spacious enough. Since it's Ondol, the room temperature is about half-sleeved in the winter, but the windows open. The facilities are getting old, and the shower room was missing this time. The hot water flow was poor and the water pressure was quite weak. In the end, it made quite a loud noise. Also, there is no bath mat. The TV remote control could not be used to lower the volume or change channels. Is this what Korea is like? I didn't really understand. The staff cannot speak Japanese, but they can speak English. The front desk communicates well. The lobby isn't very large and doesn't have the vibrancy it used to have. I'm concerned about the aging of the facility, but I think it's suitable for long-term stays and those who want a spacious room.
