The Maglev train journey from Longyang Road Station to Pudong International Airport does indeed take less than ten minutes, with a maximum speed of over 300 kilometers per hour. However, finding the station can be time-consuming; it personally took me about ten minutes to find it.

Our first impression of the hotel was wonderful, friendly staffs and comfortable environment greeted us at the entrance. Special mention to 袁欢 whom helped me find a suitable room for my family and I with upmost patience and eagerness. The view in the bedroom was great as the windows are full length. Breakfast had various options too. I visited the Epicure at 45 to be surprised by the astonishing 360 view of Shanghai. You get to experience such fine dining while enjoying the scenery around you. On a Tuesday night, we got to visit the bar on floor 47. Accompanied by jazzy tunes from the pianist and singer, I enjoyed the vibe-y night. The hotel gave me a positive experience; family-friendly and comfy. I’d recommend this hotel!

This is our first trip to Shanghai. The room is spacious and on the 29th floor. Great amenities and convenient location (very close to Nanjing Rd pedestrian street and People’s Square Station) for easy out and about. The buffet breakfast is plentiful (both Chinese & Western styles). Overall, it was a pleasant 6 night stays.

Fantastic! Even though there is a change in management, there has been no decline in service. Lilly Li was superb at check-in; she was thorough and fast, allowing me to get to my room and sleep ASAP after 27 hours of travelling! It was also great to note that my preferences were remembered - even despite the management change. Breakfast was charming as the chef brought the spirit of Chinese New Year to our plates with creative steamed buns and expanded Chinese fare. My staying here will continue as long as the tradition of excellence continues!

The room was nice and quite spacious! We arrived very late on the first day, and the air conditioning felt a bit weak, but everything else was good afterward. The balcony wasn't big, but the view was lovely. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so the ventilation isn't great. However, the cleanliness was excellent. When we checked out, we passed by a room that had just been vacated and saw a cleaning lady meticulously cleaning the floor, which explains why my son's white socks weren't dirty even after walking barefoot on the floor. The front desk staff were also very friendly. Breakfast offered a good variety and everything tasted great, and the location was excellent. The complimentary travel photography session produced some fantastic shots. I'd likely choose this hotel again next time!

The room was very clean, tidy, and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, and having self-service laundry facilities was very convenient. The hotel isn't far from the Bund; you can take bus routes 33, 55, or 123 directly there in one stop. The Bund's night view is beautiful, and iconic landmarks like the Bottle Opener (Shanghai World Financial Center), Egg Beater (Shanghai Tower), and Syringe (Oriental Pearl TV Tower) are definitely worth visiting. The observation deck can get crowded, so you'll need patience. Although there's a reservation time, you can arrive early without any issues.

I’ve stayed at the Westin Bund Center a couple of times now. It’s a great choice if you wanna show off to visitors. The views are lovely (even if you don’t get to see the bund). My room is spacious, clean, and the amenities are very good. I like the breakfast atmosphere & how large the hotel feels. The service is good. There always someone there to help you. The location is close enough to walk to the Bund, East Nanjing Road, and Yu Garden. It’s a great spot if you don’t have a lot of time in Shanghai & need to see some highlights.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Hyland. You truly cannot beat the location! Right outside the door is Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making it incredibly easy to step out for shopping and dining with the family. For quick snacks and essentials, there is a very convenient convenience store right on the other side of the property. Plus, the Metro station is only about two blocks away—a very easy, flat, and walkable distance, even if you are managing bags or traveling with kids. The room itself was spotless and well-maintained. After a long day of walking around Shanghai, we always appreciated coming back to a room where the air conditioning was nice and cool. The bathroom was fully stocked with a complete set of amenities, so we didn't have to worry about missing any essentials. The daily breakfast buffet offered a great variety to start the morning. There was a fantastic selection of fresh breads, several coffee machines to keep the parents caffeinated, and an impressive mix of local Chinese cuisine and American classics. Tucked away at the end, you'll find the popular egg station, right next to the meatloaves and hot dim sum plus noodles. There was even a dedicated Korean station, which was a unique touch. The breakfast food is delicious, but the menu doesn't vary much from day to day. If you are staying for a week or longer like we did, it can feel a bit repetitive. We wished they would rotate the choices a bit more. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Between the unbeatable location, clean rooms, and extensive breakfast options, it’s a highly recommended, stress-free base for families visiting Shanghai!

It's near to train station, hotel was grand, check in was smooth. Informed the hotel it's for our anniversary and they told us a complimentary cake will be given to us on the check in night but perhaps they forgot, nevertheless they gave a complimentary birthday slice of cake several days later. The shower and toilet bowl pressure were low, informed the front desk and they fixed it the same day and was great after that. Overall a good experience, but not an exceptional one.

The room at Pudong Shangri-La was impressively large and very comfortable, making the stay relaxing and pleasant. Visiting during the festive season was a bonus, as the hotel was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations that added a warm and cheerful atmosphere. The complimentary Chinese dinner at the Osmanthus restaurant was a delightful surprise — the food was delicious and the portions were just right. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options catering to different tastes. However, I was quite disappointed by an incident related to hygiene. I witnessed a pastry server dropping a croissant on the floor and then placing it back onto the tray. This was unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. I sincerely hope the hotel will place greater emphasis on food hygiene training for their F&B staff, as everything else about the stay was otherwise excellent.

The location is great, near Jing'an Temple. I've been to Shanghai many times but never visited Jing'an Temple before. This Ritz-Carlton is the first one in China, and although it's older, the facilities are very well-maintained. The room size is smaller than other Ritz-Carltons, but 38 square meters is still perfectly adequate. Personally, I feel the overall style is different from other Ritz-Carltons, more like the Four Seasons in Sydney. The hotel's Western restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine, but the grilled sea bream was covered in chili powder, almost like something a chef from Northeast China would prepare. Honestly, with an apartment complex full of expats right next door, it's hard to believe the restaurant's chef would have such an odd cooking style. It would be too bizarre if it were a troll following me everywhere. During this trip, I ate at the hotel restaurant twice, and both à la carte dishes had chili. After that, I avoided eating at the hotel during my stay, except for the buffet.

The historic Fairmont Peace Hotel, built in 1929 by the British-Jewish businessman Victor Sassoon, holds a special place in history. It's where Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling got engaged, and where Lu Xun hosted Charlie Chaplin. Countless celebrities have graced its rooms. Previously, the Peace Hotel comprised both North and South buildings and was once known as the 'First Building in the Far East,' an iconic landmark on the Bund. I was incredibly fortunate to stay here this time, a truly immersive and delightful experience. Step out, and you're greeted by the architectural wonders of the Bund and the observation deck offering stunning views of Pudong. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is right at the doorstep. The location is absolutely superb. The hotel also houses a small museum, which feels more like an exhibition hall, with regular guided tours. A magnificent glass peace dove with outstretched wings dominates the center of the lobby. Despite its century-old history, the hotel boasts comprehensive and modern facilities. Every corner of the hotel is picturesque, perfect for photos. All the staff were warm and polite, providing very thoughtful service. However, there was a minor lapse when the concierge staff placed my checked luggage on the floor. The hotel's ambiance is fantastic. I requested a high-floor room overlooking Nanjing Road during check-in and was assigned a room on the 7th floor, also facing Nanjing Road, which offered excellent views. Lying in bed at night, I could admire the Nanjing Road nightscape. Perfect! The package also included drinks and snacks at the Cathay Room on the top floor. After discussing with the hotel, we opted to exchange it for a performance at the Jazz Bar. An 80+-year-old jazz band performs there nightly, accompanied by a resident singer. We were given two complimentary drinks – one cocktail and one juice – along with chicken wings and peanuts. Listening to jazz, enjoying a drink, and munching on snacks was pure bliss. The room perfectly blends classic and modern styles, with comprehensive amenities. The bathroom was huge, and there was a walk-in closet and a very large bathtub. The bed was super-sized, with soft and comfortable bedding. The room was spotlessly clean, and the toiletries were all high-quality. Before we returned to the room in the evening, the staff had already prepared it for bedtime. Welcome fruits and exquisite chocolates were also thoughtfully provided in the room. They were so beautiful, I almost didn't want to eat them! The in-room coffee bar offers complimentary coffee, while the mini-bar items are chargeable. After enjoying the jazz, returning to the room for a relaxing shower and a good night's sleep was simply wonderful. So happy! Breakfast was served at the Jasmine Restaurant on the first floor. The East-meets-West buffet offered an incredibly rich selection, with what felt like nearly a hundred different dishes. There was so much food, I almost couldn't try everything. Upon being seated, the server brought a cup of coffee and a pot of tea. In the end, I piled my table high with food and savored each bite. I ate so much I could barely walk out – utterly satisfying! Leaving the hotel, I felt quite reluctant to go.

Extremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. The Puli Hotel Shanghai offers a seamless blend of understated luxury and thoughtful service, perfectly situated near major shopping malls and key city attractions. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and efficient, promptly assisting us with our luggage. As our room was not yet ready upon arrival, we took the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. When we returned about an hour later, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our luggage had already been delivered to our room, an excellent example of the hotel’s proactive and considerate service. The room itself was impressively spacious, providing a calm and elegant retreat from the city. The minibar was exceptionally well-appointed, featuring both sparkling and still water, juices, sodas, tea and coffee, beer, as well as fresh fruits, chocolates, and nuts, all replenished daily. The bathroom was equally well thought out, complete with high-quality amenities that added to the overall comfort of the stay. Overall, The Puli Hotel Shanghai delivers a refined hospitality experience marked by attention to detail, comfort, and an ideal location, making it an excellent choice for both leisure and city exploration.

Sheshan, Songjiang University Town Shanghai|35.83km from city centre
I've always wanted to experience the InterContinental Wonderland Shimao Hotel, and I finally got my wish this time. Before our trip, the butler called us to discuss our preferences. We had booked a Turquoise King Room, but upon arrival, we were upgraded to a Ruby King Room, which was centrally located with great views of both the waterfall and the shows. The 8:30 PM light and shadow cliff show was absolutely stunning and well worth seeing. The hotel also provided complimentary late-night snacks, which was a nice and thoughtful touch. While the room's facilities were a bit dated, the cleanliness was still very good. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Wujiaochang Commercial Area Shanghai|9.08km from city centre
Coming to Shanghai, I specifically chose the Pagoda Hotel (Fudan University, Shanghai Branch) that I've been eyeing for a while. I booked the Deluxe Family Twin Room for four people, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations! First of all, the hotel's location is fantastic! It's right in the Wujiaochang business district and KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community), next to University Road, which has a ton of trendy restaurants and cafes. In the evening, we went to a folk bar nearby, and it was a wonderful experience. It's also super close to Fudan University; we even took a walk on campus in the morning, which was lovely. Back in the room, it was incredibly spacious, absolutely not cramped for a family of four. There were two large beds, plus a tatami mat that could be used for sitting or lying down. We had tea and snacks on it during the day, and there was plenty of space to move around. The smart room control system was so convenient; a simple voice command could open or close the curtains and turn the lights on or off. Through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, we had an unobstructed view of Wujiaochang's city skyline, which was truly expansive. The hotel's service was also excellent. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the butler even asked about our accommodation preferences in advance. There's also a free self-service late-night snack bar after 9 PM, which was a pleasant surprise! The mini-bar was complimentary, and all the in-room amenities were well-stocked. Plus, food deliveries were brought up by a robot, which was both convenient and private. The hotel also has a gym and a laundry room, which is incredibly thoughtful for families with children, allowing us to wash and dry clothes anytime. Finally, a quick reminder: hotels in Shanghai typically don't proactively provide disposable toothbrushes, but you can always ask the front desk if you need one. However, this is a minor detail, and overall, this Pagoda is definitely worth recommending, especially for family trips – you can't go wrong with it!

Hongqiao Airport/National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai|15.59km from city centre
I stayed at the Hyatt House Shanghai Hongqiao CBD and found it to be a very solid choice, especially for business travel. The location is excellent, situated directly opposite the railway station and the airport, which makes onward travel extremely convenient. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing everything needed for a short business stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient, which adds to the overall positive experience. Breakfast is perfectly adequate and does the job well. For business trips in particular, or if you need to continue your journey by train the next day as I did, this hotel is a very convenient and comfortable option. Overall, I had a good stay and can definitely recommend it.

Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center Shanghai|12.35km from city centre
The room is more suited for young people, and the cleanliness is pretty good. The communal area downstairs at night is excellent for working. The front desk staff was also nice, promptly getting me a bottle of water when I was thirsty. When checking out, I needed to go to the North Bund for business and didn't want to come back for my luggage. Unfortunately, when I asked the front desk if they offered a luggage delivery service, they weren't clear and said no. For a major city like Shanghai, there really should be more diverse services to make travel easier for us.
