The place is worth it. But it's very crowded. You definitely need to get passes; without them, there's no other option. We got six passes and arrived at Super 12.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Abel from the Concierge Team at Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World. Before our trip, I contacted the hotel from my home country to arrange a birthday surprise for my friend. Abel was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. He responded promptly, provided detailed information about the room decoration options, and even suggested different color themes to make the setup more special. Throughout the entire process, he stayed in touch, answered all my questions, and ensured that every detail was taken care of. When we arrived, the room looked even better than I had imagined. The surprise brought so much joy to my friend, and it made her birthday truly memorable. No one had ever organized such a surprise for her before, so seeing her reaction was absolutely priceless. I am very grateful to Abel for helping make this special moment possible. I would also like to say a few words about the hotel itself. While the property may not be the newest in Shanghai, it is exceptionally well maintained, clean, comfortable, and full of character. The breakfasts are delicious, offering a great variety of choices, and the location is simply outstanding, making it easy to explore the city. Choosing Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World was definitely the right decision for us. We have been enjoying every day of our stay and creating wonderful memories here. Thank you to Abel and Jessica and the entire hotel team for your warm hospitality and excellent service. We truly appreciate everything you have done for us! ❤️

This is our second time choosing this hotel. We met Trista, who was so sweet! She helped upgrade my child's breakfast and even prepared cookies for them when we checked in. The service here truly makes you feel at home. I love this place, mainly because it's incredibly convenient. This time, I chose a stay that included breakfast, and I don't regret it at all. There were so many options, and everything was delicious. Right next to the hotel lobby, there's a plaza with a supermarket, McDonald's, and Luckin Coffee. Cross the street, and you'll find tons of great food. Turn another corner, and you're on Nanjing Road, Shanghai's most walkable pedestrian street, with the biggest Pop Mart, Lego store, and M&M's chocolate store. It's so convenient! If you get tired, you can always go back to the hotel to rest before heading out to explore more.

Belonging to the Okura Hotels group, the cleanliness is top-notch by domestic standards. The location is excellent – it's quietly situated yet right next to a subway station where three lines converge. As for service, the parking attendant was quite impatient. When I asked how to reserve a PMO parking spot, he dismissively said it wasn't his concern, which was a bit much. There's definitely a gap compared to Okura hotels in Japan in this regard. Although the facilities are 36 years old, they are well-maintained, but the signs of age are inevitably present.

Service: The hotel's guest manager and other service staff were all polite and responsible. They immediately addressed anything I felt was not up to par. However, I must honestly tell you that the hotel's hygiene and room facilities urgently need maintenance and adjustment. Hygiene: One bed sheet was dirty and another was torn. This shouldn't happen at a five-star hotel; even budget hotels like Atour or Orange wouldn't have this issue. My habit is to check if the bed is clean first when I stay at a hotel. I believe this part of the cleaning is the most important. Furthermore, the bathroom and room floors also need more attention during cleaning. As for the delivery robots, if there aren't enough, I suggest adding more, or at least inform guests about the wait. Please don't leave guests' meals in the elevator; I happened to see mine there when I entered. I don't quite understand this practice. In summary, as a five-star hotel, I hope you can strive to improve your quality. Thank you.

I’m so glad I chose the Mehood Elegant Hotel. It was the perfect location — close to everything, not too crowded, yet not too remote either. I traveled solo with my 14-month-old toddler, and he was absolutely spoiled by all the hotel staff. Everyone treated us with so much kindness and care. Jerry checked us in and out and even gave me a cute fridge magnet. The breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from, the rooms were cleaned daily, and bottled water was always replenished. Xiao Jun also took great care of us, and Yinhe Juan felt like an auntie to us. We looked forward to seeing them every morning at breakfast. They all made my stay feel so warm and welcoming — truly like a home away from home. I’m incredibly grateful for their hospitality, and if I ever find myself back in Shanghai again, I’ll definitely be booking Mehood. PS: the view from my room was incredible!

The Bund Area Shanghai|1.27km from city centre
As a five-star hotel, both the service and facilities are quite good. I've always heard that Westin's family rooms are great, and I got to experience one on this trip to Shanghai. I won't go into detail about the good aspects, but I do have a few suggestions: 1. For a family room, there actually aren't many kids' amenities, just a few stuffed animals. For example, a step stool could be provided in the bathroom for children. 2. The sink in the bathroom constantly accumulates water on the inner side. I'm not sure if it's due to the countertop's angle or something else, but I hope it can be adjusted. 3. The toilet paper holder in the WC is too far inward, making it inconvenient to grab paper. If you pull hard, the roll might fall off. Moving the holder forward, reversing its direction, or moving it to the right side would all be good solutions. Overall, I hope Westin continues to improve as a high-end hotel. I look forward to experiencing it again next time!

Let me start with the cons: The room I stayed in was triangular, which isn't really to Chinese taste. While you can tell the decor uses high-quality materials, it's been over a decade, so the hardware is showing obvious signs of age and isn't very modern. Switches are crooked, and the lights flicker. It's like an experienced beauty; even with efforts to maintain her, her age is still apparent. Aside from the aging hardware, everything else is quite good. The hotel's location is definitely excellent, very convenient, and the surrounding area is lively – it's one of the best spots in Shanghai. As for service, they even gave me a late check-out when I returned late. The restaurant and bar on the first floor have a great atmosphere. Overall, it's quite good. As long as you're not too particular about the newness of the hardware, it's a very good choice for a trip.

First off, the service was exceptionally warm and attentive throughout my stay. The front desk staff were very polite during check-in and patiently answered all my questions. Traveling with a child, I was delighted that they proactively offered a complimentary kids' buffet breakfast, which was a huge bonus as I didn't have to pay extra. Staff members would greet us whenever they saw us, and requests were handled quickly and efficiently, without any cold or perfunctory attitudes, making our stay incredibly comfortable. The eel rice in the package exceeded all expectations! The eel was perfectly roasted—rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth—with a sauce that was just the right balance of sweet and savory. Every bite, with the rice soaked in sauce, was incredibly satisfying. Paired with miso soup, side dishes, and chocolate cake, the whole meal was incredibly fulfilling. The Japanese cuisine tasted very authentic, not a single miss. The buffet breakfast offered an incredibly wide variety, covering both Chinese and Western options! There were freshly baked breads, bacon, egg tarts, fried rice, various fruits, and even unlimited Poly yogurt. With both Chinese and Western pastries, there was something for everyone, adults and children alike. The hotel also has its own hot spring. After a good meal, a relaxing soak in the hot spring was wonderfully rejuvenating. It's perfect for both family trips and gatherings with friends. The three of us arrived at the hotel around noon on the 17th and checked in immediately. A hotel staff member then helped us with our luggage and drove us to our room in a shuttle, even providing a fruit plate. That afternoon, some of us enjoyed the hot spring provided by the hotel. Breakfast started at 7 AM the next day, and a shuttle service took us to Disneyland. They picked us up around 9 PM to bring us back to the hotel (the same schedule applied for the morning and evening of the third day as well). The hotel's exterior environment is excellent, with a lavender garden right next door and Bicester Village directly opposite, making both transport and shopping very convenient. The interior facilities are also very comprehensive, with all accommodation necessities provided, and everything is clean and tidy. The staff are warm and attentive, making us feel completely at ease. With a complete selection of top, middle, and base notes, including woody, floral, fresh tea, and Zen-inspired herbal scents, I slowly blended, let it settle, and sealed my own unique niche perfume. Every breath was filled with a gentle aroma, instantly soothing away any anxious feelings. Slowing down to experience the fusion of fragrance and Japanese aesthetics, and then blending after a private onsen bath, made the ritual feel perfect. The finished perfume has a subtle and sophisticated scent that lingers, bringing home a full sense of vacation and healing. The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

I visited Qianyun after looking at dozens of places in the area. I wanted to be away from typical city area, have a bathtub and nice outdoor area, and with easy access to Shanghai Disneyland. Qianyun met all those requirements and more! The location was immediately very serene and surrounded by forest, but still easy to access lots of waimai food delivery options. They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring. The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt. The Bund observation deck is less than a 3-minute walk away. From your window, you can see the historic Bund architecture and the Huangpu River. Lying in bed at night, watching the bustling traffic on Nanjing Road creates a delightful contrast of lively and serene – it's truly magical. When you're tired from exploring, it's so convenient to pop back to the hotel for a rest before heading out again. You simply won't find another location like it. 🏨 **Immersive Republican Era Ambiance** The moment you step into the lobby, you're transported back to old Shanghai! Marble pillars, vintage carvings, creaky wooden floors, and even the hallway lighting evoke a sense of history. The hotel also features a small historical museum, where you can see many old artifacts and hear stories from the staff about the past. That profound sense of history is truly touching. We stayed in a river-view room, which maintained a retro decor but with all modern facilities. The bedding was plush, and the toiletries had a luxurious scent. 💁 **Heartwarming Service** I mentioned it was my birthday when I called ahead to book, and the front desk staff, Minie Chen, upgraded our room for free and even gave us a handwritten card and a small cake. The bellhop kindly carried our luggage to the room, and even the security guards at the entrance would greet us warmly. Lisa Zhou was so sweet and gentle, and her food recommendations were delicious. The night manager, Roger Wang, was absolutely fantastic – his voice was lovely, and his service was incredibly attentive and warm. Billy Liang at the front desk was also superb and made us feel so welcome. As someone who appreciates details, I was thoroughly impressed. In the morning, the room was immaculately cleaned by the staff, and in the evening, they thoughtfully prepared turn-down service. It was incredibly considerate. 🎷 **Must-Try Signature Experiences** ▫️ **The Jazz Bar is a must-visit!** Every night, there's a jazz band with musicians who've been performing for decades. Sitting here with a cocktail, gazing at the Bund's night view, you can almost imagine yourself as a character in a movie – the atmosphere is absolutely captivating. ▫️ **The breakfast at the Ground Floor's Nine Nations Restaurant offers an incredible selection.** The freshly made local noodles are absolutely divine. The auntie making the noodles, knowing it was my birthday, specially added eggs, spare ribs, beef, shrimp, and greens to my bowl. Such a rich and delicious 'longevity noodle' was a truly special experience. For the 8th-floor restaurant, you need to book a window table several days in advance to get the full dining experience. The portions are generous, and the food is excellent. I couldn't finish the whole chunk of Chongming lamb ribs, so I packed them to go and finished them at midnight in my room. Both hot and cold, they tasted fantastic! My birthday was truly wonderful, thanks to every staff member at the Fairmont Peace Hotel. Thank you for the joy you brought me and for your excellent service. I look forward to seeing you again. [thumbs up][fireworks]

This veteran five-star hotel truly lives up to its reputation. The facilities are impeccably maintained, with no signs of wear and tear. The touch panel controls for lights and curtains are intuitive and easy to use. The bathroom has excellent water pressure, making for a very pleasant shower experience. When we returned from our day out, the room had already been tidied up, and all amenities replenished. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, soft against the skin, and the pillows were just the right height – I slept wonderfully. The hotel's Cantonese restaurant also serves delicious food. The location is fantastic, too, very lively. The Bund, Super Brand Mall, and IFC are all within a 10-minute walk, making it super convenient for shopping and sightseeing. I'd definitely stay here again next time.

Choosing the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund in Shanghai was definitely the right decision! The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the Bund. You step out of the hotel and you're right by the river, and it's also super convenient to walk to Nanjing Road. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the century-old building is incredibly beautiful, a perfect blend of vintage and luxury. The room experience was fantastic! I especially want to commend our dedicated concierges, Emily and Echole. Their warm, attentive, professional, and gentle service made us feel incredibly comfortable.

We normally stay at Swiss, but we're disappointed on last visit, this place left them for dead. Breakfast was just excellent with options from every direction. We also tried the main restaurant and this was beautiful experience. Drinks in the evening in the external bar was a nice way to finish the evening. We did the studio appartments as this would be the best room I have stayed in China. Well done to all the staff.

We are sincerely grateful for Lorna's dedicated service. We'll definitely choose Grand Hyatt again for our next stay.

The room I initially booked had a lingering smell, either of smoke or mildew, so I was upgraded to a different room. There was a minor misunderstanding which they promptly rectified with a complimentary fruit plate. I have a deep affection for Jing An Shangri-La; it is, without a doubt, the best hotel in Shanghai. While some facilities might be showing their age, the cleanliness and service consistently remain top-notch. I once witnessed a guest spill coffee on the carpet during breakfast. The manager immediately stood by the stain, waiting for colleagues to clean it up, and the entire process from discovery to clean-up took less than two minutes. I hope the hotel team maintains this level of professionalism. Shanghai may have many luxury hotels, but your efforts truly demonstrate what an industry benchmark looks like. The Qiantan Shangri-La, in my opinion, leans more towards an influencer-driven style with mediocre service, and I haven't stayed at the Pudong or Hongqiao Shangri-La. However, due to its prime location and excellent amenities, I will always support the Jing An branch. The turndown service is excellent; I just wish they'd add a small dessert or chocolate in the future.

I came and stayed here with my lover. The hotel has a prime location, a grand and beautiful environment, and a great experience! The front manager George warmly welcomed us, provided attentive service, efficiently checked us into the hotel suite, and introduced us about a series of hotel services and relative times. Manger George's attitude was very good, making us feel like at home. The afternoon tea restaurant manager Judith provided us with a very good afternoon tea combination, with exquisite, lovely and beautiful desserts. The manager Judith was friendly and enthusiastic, and the service was attentive. The waiter Lenz also provided us with very nice service. A wonderful day at Kempinski, I will definitely stay here again next time!

I love the ambience of the hotel and the location it is situated. It is a good place to relax and escape from city. They have good amenities like indoor playground, gym and indoor pool. They also have show and programme too. They have free photoshoot but I did not have sufficient time to it. Most importantly, they gave extremely good customer service and thanks for their nice gesture that I no need to split two rooms with my kids and my family really enjoy the stay and wish to extend longer but we have limited time. Room is clean and bed is comfortable! We manage to recharge and set off to our next journey.

Wujiaochang Commercial Area Shanghai|9.08km from city centre
Coming to Shanghai, I specifically chose the Pagoda Hotel (Fudan University, Shanghai Branch) that I've been eyeing for a while. I booked the Deluxe Family Twin Room for four people, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations! First of all, the hotel's location is fantastic! It's right in the Wujiaochang business district and KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community), next to University Road, which has a ton of trendy restaurants and cafes. In the evening, we went to a folk bar nearby, and it was a wonderful experience. It's also super close to Fudan University; we even took a walk on campus in the morning, which was lovely. Back in the room, it was incredibly spacious, absolutely not cramped for a family of four. There were two large beds, plus a tatami mat that could be used for sitting or lying down. We had tea and snacks on it during the day, and there was plenty of space to move around. The smart room control system was so convenient; a simple voice command could open or close the curtains and turn the lights on or off. Through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, we had an unobstructed view of Wujiaochang's city skyline, which was truly expansive. The hotel's service was also excellent. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the butler even asked about our accommodation preferences in advance. There's also a free self-service late-night snack bar after 9 PM, which was a pleasant surprise! The mini-bar was complimentary, and all the in-room amenities were well-stocked. Plus, food deliveries were brought up by a robot, which was both convenient and private. The hotel also has a gym and a laundry room, which is incredibly thoughtful for families with children, allowing us to wash and dry clothes anytime. Finally, a quick reminder: hotels in Shanghai typically don't proactively provide disposable toothbrushes, but you can always ask the front desk if you need one. However, this is a minor detail, and overall, this Pagoda is definitely worth recommending, especially for family trips – you can't go wrong with it!

Really good hotel. We stayed only one night to be near the train station. We had 3 rooms and one of them got upgraded so we could stay on the same floor. They even provided us breakfast to go as our train was really early.

The non-smoking room was spotless! Impeccably clean, the bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the Hansgrohe bathroom fixtures were a great touch. The location is also convenient, very close to MixC, making it easy to shop and dine. The front desk service was very attentive; any issues were quickly addressed. I had a very pleasant stay throughout, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit!

Hongqiao District Shanghai|8.21km from city centre
I've found a real gem in this modern tower. The hotel occupies floors 15 to 18, and the reception is a 10/10 – the staff are super friendly, they offer coffee, tea, and little pastries, and there's also a very comfortable coworking area. The rooms are like a small studio with a kitchenette: microwave, washing machine, dryer, a full-size fridge, and plenty of closet space. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, and the shower… wow! The water pressure is amazing, absolutely wonderful. The door is floor-to-ceiling, so steam from long showers doesn't escape into the rest of the room. The sink area is a bit small, but it's fine for one or two people. Special mention: the magnifying mirror and the Japanese toilet – a real luxury that I really appreciated. We were so comfortable that we ended up extending our stay by 3 more days. The only downside: the metro is about 1 km away, maybe a bit more. But the value for money is so good that what you save on the hotel easily covers a taxi ride. From now on, this will be my go-to place in Shanghai. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back.
