My reservation was a Spa King Balcony. I got to my room & no Spa? Went back to the office & he offered an upgrade, but no balcony (I like the salty ocean air since it is near the beach)? I ended up negotiating & got an extra 3-hours of stay to compensate & no down deposit. The room had ants in the bathroom shower creeping out the walls & by the desk. There is not small table where most room would have it, so I ate the desk that had ants on it. The mounted conditioner bottle was broken in the shower. Everything else was okay. I paid $125 total through a special ******* deal & got what I paid for, an average room.

The Inn is adequate. The bed is comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. The small kitchen was clean and convenient. The WiFi is excellent. Good choices for cable TV. The furniture is not particularly comfortable. The downside and the reason we will not go back (this was our second stay in 4 years) is the rude woman at the reception desk. The Inn has a policy of deactivating your room key at 10 am on the day of check out, which they do not inform you of. We had to go back to leave a tip, turn on the dishwasher, and get the last bag. The cleaner at the far end of the balcony was not authorized to let us back in. We went to the office and a young man activated the key, no questions asked. After a couple of minutes to wrap up our exit, we went back to turn in the keys. We told a woman at the reception that it seemed rather small to deactivate the key on the top of the hour, which we had never experienced before in 50 years of travelling. She waived a paper at us and said we had signed it and therefore knew that the check out was 10 am. We asked if there is a grace period. She said there was, although nobody told us. This was the only interaction we had with staff other than the initial check in. Our experience is that this kind of authoritarian rudeness means there are other problems at the site. So we will not be returning. If you go, and you need a couple of extra minutes at check out, simply don't close your door and save yourself getting the paper waived in your face. Restaurants nearby that we liked: Fig, MRK, Hot N Chili (Indian), and the Riviera which is in the resort and we ate there twice. Definitely make the trip to Laguna Beach and eat at the Lumberyard on the main street, Forest Avenue, after you've enjoyed the beautiful shops. Make a reservation to visit the Hortense Miller house and garden in Laguna Beach for a refreshing and unique experience.

This hotel was supposed to have a really awesome breakfast bar with pancakes, cereal, sausage, etc. Since it was covid it was just a bag with a breakfast sandwich to put in the microwave, an apple, a granola bar and muffin. Pretty lame! Also the jacuzzi chemicals must have been off because it left my skin super irritated - dry and itchy which is a sign of improper chemical balance. Also the first night the jacuzzi was hot, the next day it was just a bit warmer than the pool. I asked the front desk and they said, ”if no one is using it they don't turn on the heat.” Well how are they supposed to know when and if someone will use it? It should be ready to go all the time! They said if you call ahead they will turn it on. Also they charged a fee of $1 per night per room for a ”safe fee” (we had 2 rooms X 3 nights). Super unnecessary and just fee padding if you ask me! When asked to remove it they told me that it was ”too late” and it was part of my booking via bookings dot com. One light fixture was broken in the room and my son's bedside lights were broken. Also the phone charger next to the bed was broken. For the price we paid, I expected everything to be in good condition. As far as decor, whoever thought that crown molding should be used to make a ”curtain valance” had zero decorating skills. They also could have done without the crown molding and ”pillar” type thing attached to the pony wall as that was pretty cheesy. Just stick to a basic crown molding around the ceiling. Also the shower was really weird in terms of adjusting the water temp and the shower head needs to be higher. I'm almost 6” tall and not everyone is a damn shorty! Also, on the last day, housekeeping did not make up the room which meant a pile up of dirty towels, no clean towels and the trash overflowing. The location is ok but about 1.5 to 2 miles on the freeway from ”town”.

Nice people, clean place and comfortable bed. Daily maid service. Some people complain about the parking which can be tricky if you have a bigger car I would think, but I saw people doing it. There is three spots behind the building that sometimes are open and I have used. If you park in the cul-de-sac next to the building I'm pretty sure it seems safe to me I never had to do it though but I would have if needed. Decent water pressure in the shower and plenty of room to put your stuff. Good location close to the beaches. Budget hotel but not a dump at all just basic. I stayed last year and would again.

I am just a continuing customer. Still love the hotel and the rates that Trip.com offers all the time. Being able to earn coins for some money off on all future trips is pretty rad. Enjoyed my stay as it was going to be ONE night. I ended up staying here all week.
