"*Read until the end* This is my own opinion of an expierience I had at the hotel. I’ve been coming to Marina Del Este for 5 years. It is really a beautiful place. I have dined and relaxed in most of the restaurants at the Marina and in La Herradura during the past 5 years. I always stay at Las Lomas. This is about 5 minutes walk to the Hotel. The hotel looks lovely and is always busy and bustling with people. My wife enjoys stopping there for a coffee sometimes on her morning walk. We visited the hotel this August with another family. None of us were staying there. We had been at La Herradura with the kids (4 adults and 5 kids) and following a discussion about dinner, we decided to walk up and visit the hotel. My wife had made an earlier enquiry with the Hotel reception to check if non guests could eat and that was fine. We walked into the hotel at about 10pm. We went to the bar area by mistake and then we were re directed to the restaurant downstairs. On arrival at the restaurant, I spoke to a person and asked them if we could eat. They went off to check. He returned, he seemed to be in charge wearing a black waistcoat, which was different to the rest of the serving staff. He was nice and smiling and friendly. So we approached the till and the girl at the till immediately questioned him as to the time. He told her not to worry, that there was time. She told me it was €22 per adult and €11 per child and it was a buffet service. I firmed up with my wife and the other family about the price and I was required to pay the bill in advance, which I did. She told me that the waiter would mark my receipt with the drinks we had during dinner and we could pay on the way out. We were told the buffet finished at 11pm. I paid up front at 10:12pm and then went to a table. It took a couple of minutes before a waiter prepared the table and we sat down and ordered a drink ( 2 white wines, 2 beers and two bottles of still water ). The following I will make in bullet points. - at 10:15 the food started to move away from the counters. It was very confusing. - The kids all took pizza from the grill area. It was raw with grated cheese unmelted in the middle and melted on top? It was not room temperature in the middle, but it was fridge temperature. - I took cold beef noodles and a wrap. I found cold fish at the hot buffet to put in the wrap. - At this point all of the food was moving to a table in the middle of the room, there were only a few people left. Waiters were spraying and cleaning and taking food away. This started at 10:15pm - I grabbed the three last burgers for the kids but there was no cheese for the filling. I asked for some and the chef said there was none left. I am fluent in Spanish so I was conversing in Spanish. The kids did not eat the burgers, they were under pressure and upset watching us concerned adults. - The two chefs at the grill started apologising for the problem with the pizza when I brought it ba"

"We went for a family holiday and the hotel felt like a second home. The staff was professional yet approachable and friendly, the rooms decorated in a conservative fashion are generously proportioned and the bed sheets impeccable. Food was fresh and with enough variety to have a complete change of menu daily for a week. The beach is at the door step and plenty of water sports are available in the vicinity. It’s not a sophisticated venue but incredibly welcoming and honest. 10/10 would go again!"

"Would not rate it as 4 stars by any standard. 3 tops! The safery boxes in every room are not funktional. You have to pay extra to make them work. The buffets are mediocre - extensive, but without quality. The staff seems to have no pride in their work. Our evening meal included half a bottle of wine per person. I don’t drink wine, but could not replace it for a tiny bottle of soda: 2,25 dl at 2,60€. I got at room above the bar with live singing every night. Two hours of dreadful noise from 9 till 11 pm. Twice I asked in the reception to have another room, but was refused. I had to contact my travel agency before I got another!!! Why do they even use those rooms off season (101-105….ish…..avoid these unless you are out or sit in the bar each evening)? That said the rooms are fine, the cleaning as well. Noise from the street is okay and most balconies are spacious facing the sun down."
