"The hotel has a very nice location very close to the sea and it is very convenient to reach the nearby Biarritz center by bus. It also features a big and well equipped gym. Unfortunately, there are also downsides. In particular, house keeping leaves a great mess in the hotel aisles during the day. Used towels, dishes and cutlery are left there for many hours, and get even stored on the armchairs in waiting corners. The hotel is also not well prepared for visitors from foreign countries. Hotel announcements are printed in French language solely, and the restaurant does not offer an English translation for its daily menus. There would be more to say; in conclusion it could be a very nice place if managed with more care."

"Friendly welcome, comfortable bed and pillows and excellent shower. Room was ready at 11.30am when we arrived. Good choice at breakfast - we paid €12,80 each on the day, which was good value for the selection. The downside was the renovations, which we were not told about in advance. It did not disturb our sleep but there was noise from drilling etc and the flooring was not stable. Also the ceiling of the room was patterned black and white which did feel strange when lying in bed! There were also roadworks outside the hotel due to finish 18th April. This hotel is a distance from the centre and the beach. We walked in, which took 45 mins to La Grande Plage and 1 hour to Plage de la Chambre D'Amour. We got a bus back, Line 3 drops you just outside the hotel (Lavigne stop) and Line 11 (7 Puits stop) is about a 10 min walk to the hotel. From the airport, catch the Line 3 bus, google maps shows you can walk it (20 mins) but we did not see any pavement and it is a busy road. Uber is available in Biarritz but it is very expensive. We loved Biarritz, it is very like Newquay. Would recommend visiting the Plage Chambre D'Amour side, there are lots of beach bars/restaurants with a surfer vibe."

Brindos, Lac & Château - Relais & Châteaux - Anglet Biarritz

"Overall, the personnel was extremely rude, arrogant, untrained and behaved as they don’t care. It feels like management here is squeezing profit out versus providing customer service that Relais & Chateaux is known for. The services across the property is being run by young students doing their internship and has really ruined our entire experience. This is such a beautiful property, however with the worst unprofessional service we ever had. Me and my husband were staying at the Brindos property in Anglet. Unfortunately, since our arrival we have had a terrible experience. First, while we were waiting for our room to get ready as we arrived, we got drinks outside at the restaurant by the lake. I asked for a drink known in France as kir royale, and had to repeat 3 times and explain as the server’s rude answer was “I don’t know what kir royale means, just tell me what do you want”. Then the server asked me to come up to the register to pay the check. He gave a check and asked if I had a pen to sign? I said no I don’t have a pen. He said I also don’t have a pen… These are small things but this is how it started. We then got our room. The room didn't have WiFi. The only corner where WiFi worked was inside the toilet. We asked at the reception if we can be transferred to different room but as per receptionist no rooms were avaliable. She suggested to wait until tomorrow when the technician come and fix WiFi (obviously nobody came and fixed it). The receptionist came to our room and saw that 2 phones and laptop had no WiFi. We had to use roaming as we were working on Friday night (US hours) and taking video meetings via roaming. At breakfast we had to wait for an omlet with tomatoes for 30 minutes and omlet came without tomatoes. We asked for a cheese plate 3 times and after we were about to leave we got 4 slices of one cheese (but the menu says assortment). It was my husband's birthday. During lunchtime we came to the cafe and asked for food menu. We got drinks menu 2 times. And then finally we got a food menu in French (even when we asked for English menu). Then the waiter told us that they don’t have menu in English. We left the cafe. The senior restaurant manager asked what happened why we are leaving and told us that English menu is available. And she can bring. But to be honest the day was already ruined as well as my husband’s birthday. We left hungry and really frustrated with a service. My advice would be stay away from this property, if you don't want to deal with rude and arrogant people at your own cost."

"Rooms were larger than other venues on our France tour and well equipped with 2 queen beds, 2 chairs and desk together with large mirror. Complimentary water provided and separate toilet. Shower was over the bathtub which seems to be the norm for a lot of hotels in France. Plenty of light in the room and wi fi was ok with plenty of clothes hangers which was welcomed. Breakfast choices were ok but very few hot dishes. Bacon was dry and scrambled eggs very watery."
