"Since we know the hotel, we were happy to return. This time we booked through Trip.com. Apparently, you end up with a budget room that looks out the other side of the building, even though a standard room was booked and all the photos of that room show a lake view. We will never book anything through Trip.com again. This time we felt like we were booked as budget tourists."

"This was billed as a very good Hotel but I felt very let down. It was expensive but the amenities and service levels were lacking. The aircon didn’t work properly and only after repeated complaints did I get a lifesaving fan in the intense heat. The WiFi was also poor, I had to keep going outside into the corridor to get to back. No coffee machine or kettle, no list of prices for minibar or room service. The pool was lovely with a wonderful view but the promised jacuzzi was empty. The staff were not too friendly either. There is a shuttle but you have to ask and it stops at 4. Why? It’s a long way up the hill. If you don’t have a car, not a good idea. Just not a place where the customer was front and centre.."

"We went to stay and it was amazing. I could not thank the owners and staff enough for going above and beyond and making the stay 5*. I felt at home as being Swiss myself and the room was beautiful and immaculate. With the food and the adjoining restaurant on the Lago it was perfect with all dietary needs met and no communication barrier."

"The Jazz Hotel is a cheaply furnished hotel in a central location in Ascona. The rooms are cheaply furnished and soundproof. We booked through a reputable booking platform. For a full week's stay, we were given the worst and noisiest room in the hotel, right next to reception with loud music and opposite the breakfast room and a freely accessible coffee machine. This meant no sleeping in and no privacy. We therefore asked for a quieter room. For an additional charge of CHF 250 (!), we were able to move into the same cheaply furnished, small room on a different floor. I'm unclear as to why we were charged this extra fee; it was supposedly an upgrade. The bathroom is old and very small, so you often end up hitting yourself. The shower was very small and calcified. The breakfast room has the ambiance of a train station waiting room. The breakfast is straightforward and always the same, served carelessly with lots of ready-made products. There wasn't fresh bread, rolls, or croissants every day, and stale sausage, cheese, and Bircher muesli were offered every day. Conversation in the breakfast room was almost impossible due to the noisy refrigerated counter. This was by far the worst place I've ever spent my time in, and the price was definitely not cheap. Never again."

"Had a wonderful experience here. Close to the Lake and such a friendly welcome and service from Giuseppe and Maria. Giuseppe really cant do enough for his guests. Lovely breakfast - make sure you try the Panne Valle Maggia bread."

"I really enjoyed my entire stay from arrival to departure. Although the hotel was partially renovated, I didn't miss anything and I really enjoyed learning how sustainability is practiced in the hotel. The art butler with Maddalena Mora was an absolute highlight and I will definitely come back so that I can also do the outdoor butler activities with Cyril Oehrli. The hotel is an experience and the offers and staff are top notch. Many thanks to the entire team at the Hotel Eden Roc."
