The Dairy at Wyke Farm ★★★★

📍 Wyke Farm, Axminster

"A fabulous farm in wonderful countryside. The accommodation is top notch, nicely decorated with attention to detail. The bed was super comfy and the heating just right. John and Kathryn's renovation of all the buildings is sympathetic, tasteful but with comfort in mind. They are amazing hosts, have thought of everything and gave us lots of ideas of what to do and see. There are great walks along the coast nearby (plenty of mud but Wyke Farm has a hose and brush to deal with that) and ancient pubs for a filling lunch afterwards. Strongly recommend this as a base to explore or to hole up in bad weather and enjoy the lovely interiors."

Kates Farm Bed and Breakfast
9.4 (132 reviews)

Kates Farm Bed and Breakfast ★★★

📍 Lower Bruckland Farm, Axminster

"Kates farmhouse set in a beautiful location. Lovely room with en-suite, ground floor with bonus door to outside area. Good value. Quiet setting noisiest thing was probably a tractor going by. Kate was a wonderful host, loved meeting her canine companions Betsy & Rambo who both enjoyed a tummy tickle on the sofa! We had a hearty cooked breakfast each day. Accommodation suitable for those people who want a get away from it break."

Hills Farm Stays

Hills Farm Stays ★★★

📍 Hills Farm, Whitford Rd, Axminster

"Very dissapointing. First impressions are the place is lovely. But then the nagatives unfolded; - Food mediocre and tepid even after waiting ages even though only ones there (chose no to breakfast after this) - no hot water evening or morning..Sent us round different cottages in the cold for a shower which also had no water...we had a baby with us so made life v difficult - cobwebs - no privacy with v thin curtain - Microwave stinking of curry All this fed back to owners via email, text and calls with zero response. I do not recommend staying here."

Cosy Snug Room - Near Lyme Regis - Private Balcony with Country Views & Free Parking ★★★

📍 Netherleigh, Cooks Lane, Axminster

"Fantastic hosts, really good levels of communication. John checked in with me a few days before the trip with confirmation of the booking and clear instructions on checking in, and being able to check in earlier then I'd expected, which was always welcome with the changeable weather during the trip. Really welcoming including providing both milk and biscuits which I wasn't expecting. Well appointed rooms upstairs in the main house which were very clean and comfortable. I went with the self-catering option and had everything I needed in the items in the room. The location is only 10/15 mins away from Charmouth and Lyme Regis and 1 hour away from Paignton by car so if you're driving and staying for a few days, it's really easy to explore a lot of the south coast."

The Dairy at Wyke Farm ★★★★
"We were met by John on arrival who directed us to The Dairy where we were staying for three nights. The Dairy was well equiped, warm, clean and inviting and extremely comfortable and we enjoyed our three nights stay . On departure we chatted to John regarding our concern with there not being a hand rail on the wall going down the five stairs leading to the bedroom, John said there had been discussions regarding putting one there. The cottage was a short walk to our vehicle but would be easier in order to transfer luggage to and from car if we could drive to front door to do so. We would definitely recommend staying at this delightful cottage to everyone. "

Kates Farm Bed and Breakfast ★★★
"We were relieved to arrive at Kate's beautiful farmhouse in the evening, especially on a hot day. The thick stone walls keep it cool inside and it was lovely and homely with brick, beams and rough plaster. Kate was welcoming and our ground floor en-suite double opened onto a stunning garden, overlooking the nature reserve and countryside. We enjoyed a lovely cuppa sat outside and woke up to a lovely breakfast and enjoyed a chat with Kate before setting out back along the coast."

"Having heard that this was a good place on trip-advisor I was horrified at my stay. The hosts are not at all welcoming. The rooms look ok but aren’t very clean, breakfast was mediocre. The place advertises itself as luxury. It’s not at all luxury it’s cheap and naff. Something from the only way is Essex"

"My fault as didn’t check the small print but pub not open Monday and Tuesday for meals which was a real pain. Also breakfast could do with starting earlier in the week as 830am too late for business purposes, finally and a personal view hate self check ins so impersonal. Breakfast was very good"

"We stayed in the studio with our two dogs while visiting the fossil festival in Lyme Regis. It was super convenient for that. The studio is comfortable and has everything you need. We really appreciated the biscuits to have with our cuppa after a hot day walking up and down Lyme Regis and the fact the studio has a little gated yard so that we could leave the door open for the dogs. They really loved their treats too! John's instructions were really helpful and comprehensive. We hope to be back soon."
