"The new brand is Don Diego By H. So the hotel has been COMPLETELY renovated and has nothing to do with the current photos. It is magnificent, new and modern. The establishment has been tastefully renovated. Very spacious room with balcony and view of the very quiet public garden. Very appreciated toiletries and the possibility of drinking tea or coffee in the room. It is also possible to put food in the fridge. Very generous and unlimited breakfast. We will return as soon as possible."

"Having last visited this hotel in 2016 under the iberostar banner, we arrived like expected it to be updated, we got checked in. Felt like there was a lot of information to take in. The room which we picked was the budget one no complaints. The complaints I do have is the entertainment team. The music is on far too loud if you are listening to music with noise cancelling headphones in, especially when doing Zumba, the crowd is very close and still choose to use a microphone, they split our time and we moved back to the room. My wife has mobility issues, that day couldn't make it down the beach, the sunlounghers around the pool seemed to have towels on them, but nobody there, I watched someone rip the notice up that was left to say don't do it. In my eyes this is a manager's job to remove the stuff, another day I witnessed people reserving them ,then go straight to the beach, obviously when full you don't have enough sun loungers. Food ,the quality I must say the actual ingredients were good, but you could give a bit more choice and be more adventurous with your accomplishments, like sauces etc, on three consecutive sitting the same meat. A shout out to Mohammad who took pride in his work and to learn. Another thing was descriptions of the food into English were incorrect, one instance and I put this down to laziness, was a dish was offered in the al carte restaurant, so the interpretation could have been used, not many staff speak English, thankfully Google translate is a godsend, the staff are very friendly and do their best to understand, the English lady at the restaurant entrance is a credit to your hotel, friendly with everyone, always time for a little chat. So all in all a good stay"

"The worst TUI hotel we have ever stayed in. The service was average, the tours were sold out or not available, the guest experience lady couldn’t even help hire a car, the tv didn’t work in the room, the room didn’t have a separate bathroom - a sliding door for a toilet and another for a shower, overall for a deluxe room there wasn’t anything great about it. A nice location with a beautiful beach across the road but that was about it. Not a lot around, we ended up hiring a car and travelling elsewhere along the coastline to Cádiz which was fab. With Portugal 35 mins away it’s great for travel to tavira which was beautiful Wouldn’t recommend this hotel/ resort for British people. I feel we were not made to feel welcome."

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was in a great location, was clean, modern and bright throughout. Room We ended up with a side sea view room which was brilliant (pictured). Room was clean and spacious. There is a fridge but it doesn't get very cold as it gets turned off when you remove your key from the electric. Location The location of the hotel is quiet and set away from the main areas but this suited us well as I am pregnant so we went on holiday to be by the pool and the beach! There were a few nearby shops and restaurants and a harbour which was nice to walk around. You can easily hire a car to travel around or go on excursions/trips nearby. Pool/beach There is an adults only pool area which was always quiet with plenty of sunbeds and nice and there are sunbeds on the beach (10€ a day) connected to the hotel. In the "main pool" there were activities and great spaces and pools for kids. It was nice to have the separate adult only space. Food I am gluten free and there was a good selection (pictured) of gluten free food at each meal. The meals all had signs saying what the food was and if it was GF or not. There were a few things I wasnt sure about so I avoided but I always ate well. The selection of food wasn't the most varied but it was still good. We went half board and drinks were reasonably priced. Entertainment There was some evening entertainment which was ok, we sometimes sat in the bar and over the weekend sat at the pool bar. This was open until 8pm mid-week, midnight weekends."

"All the staff are great and very helpfull. They speack French, English, German, Portuguese and others. Rooms are very clean, large and with air condition. Large lobby with reception, bar and relax area. One big pool with two tobogans for kids and one big jacuzi and many sun loungers. The hotel give you free towels for the pool. You also have the beach very near, and the water is hot with small waves. Animation team is 5 stars during all day in the pool and during the night with shows in the theater. Kids club - Delfi, is one of the best for kids with activity's during all day, breakfast with kids and thematic dinner's with the hotel maskot Delfi. Superb breakfast, internacional buffet for lunch and dinner with show cocking. The ALL INCLUSIVE is a great option that includes alcohol drinks. It is recommended for family's with kids."

"In less than 24 hours they stole all the money we had in the apartment and still treated the dog in the apartment badly, we made a complaint at the reception and a complaint at the police and we asked to stay in possession of the second key. The responsible people have not helped to solve the problem, nor have they assumed any responsibility. There is a huge security failure in this place, any official has access to the second key and so anyone can enter the apartment whenever it wants, even without any reason."

Hotel Don Diego by Ĥ ★★★
"We booked a couple of rooms here for an overnight stay with the four of us. It was easy to find and there was plenty of street parking. The reception team were friendly and helpful and our rooms were immaculately clean. We had paid a little extra for the garden view rooms which had their own balconies and overlooked the park. I'm so glad we did that as it meant we weren't facing the road and that is my only criticism here in that there is some traffic noise through the night, so I would advise other guests to do the same. Its location is great as its less than ten minutes walk to the area of town with all the restaurants and bars for an evening meal."

Vila Gale Isla Canela ★★★★
"I have visited this Hotel about 24 times so have a good knowledge of the routine and have been present with both companies. Negative first. We had a problem with the discount not being applied and had to wait quite some time for the refund. The food variety does need improving. Every time I have visited there has been Tia Maria or Kahlua available but this time the coffee type liquor was not acceptable. I mentioned this to a few people including senior management, I was told they would try to rectify this many times with no success. I am thinking of bringing my own next time which is a bit ridiculous when on All Inclusive! As a client I noticed that food , entertainment and staff improved if there were more people making you feel as though it’s not worth the effort. I appreciate this is probably a monetary issue from the Hotels point of view but this my holiday and I am worth it. Now for the good points of which there are many. The Hotel has improved , it seems to have more room and is a lot brighter. As mentioned I have visited many times so the quieter location suits. It is in a lovely area. I feel at home as soon as I arrive. The staff are the jewel in the crown at this Hotel they are all so friendly and so helpful. Special mention to Louisa , Jose ( Italian restaurant) Jose ( entertainment) and of course Isabel on reception. I will be there again in May next year as I work in a school and have time off then and can relax with my sister. Thank you Alexandra Heaney"

"We recently stayed at the Meliá and overall had a lovely, relaxing holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful — the entrance and indoor seating areas are stunning and give a really luxurious first impression. There is plenty of space around all of the pools, and our favourite was definitely the adults-only pool area which felt peaceful and relaxing throughout our stay. The beach is only a very short walk away and is huge, with lots of open space and a really calm atmosphere. Our room was perfect for what we wanted. It was spotless every day thanks to the amazing cleaning staff, and we had a wonderful partial sea view where we could watch the sunrise each morning. The beds were also incredibly comfortable which made for a great night’s sleep. The restaurant itself is beautiful with plenty of seating and space, however we did find the dinner food quite repetitive after a few days. Most of the staff were lovely, although some of the bar staff could come across a little rude or uninterested at times. The biggest disappointment for us was the waiting time in the glass room bar area. On two occasions we actually left without ordering because the wait to be served was so long, which is frustrating considering this is not a cheap hotel experience. The surrounding area is very quiet, which was exactly why we chose it. There are nice walking areas and a few nearby bars and restaurants. I imagine it becomes much busier with more atmosphere in July and August, but for us May was the perfect time to visit — warm weather and a peaceful break. We also did the Seville day trip. While Seville itself is beautiful and the tour guides were lovely and very knowledgeable, we personally wouldn’t recommend doing it as a day excursion from here. The coach journey was extremely long (around 6 hours total travelling time on an 8am–6:15pm trip), which didn’t leave enough time to properly enjoy the city. We felt Seville deserves its own separate city break instead. One trip we would definitely recommend is visiting Ayamonte independently. We took a taxi for around €18 each way and really enjoyed it — a lovely town with great food and a nice atmosphere. Overall, we had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay with a few small frustrations. If you’re looking for a quiet holiday in a beautiful setting, especially in May, this hotel is a great choice."

"This is a fantastic resort, the rooms were great and the staff could not do enough for us. There were 20 of us and no one could fault our stay. Played both courses a total of 5 times( 3 old and 2 links) over 7 days, some of the views are glorious. Take a walk into Ayamonte you will not be disappointed. It’s a bustling harbour town with great tapas. Would definitely recommend."
