Felt like a hotel from the 1980s. Room was very nice as was the pool but a totally bizarre set of priorities with no eco / sustainable qualities. No place to refill water but instead if you ask for water they send someone one to your room with small plastic bottles. They replenish these plastic bottles each day. They give you new tiny plastic bottles of shampoo each day and wash the towels every day regardless of requests. Totally unnecessary use of energy and plastic. Breakfast is poor. Great number of staff there but seem focused on putting out stacks of plates ans cups correctly and often no milk available. No hot water so if you want tea you just have a pot which brews constantly and they just periodically add water too. In a country full of beautiful fresh fruit their breakfast fruit is not fresh and often covered in flies. There is so many staff they could just bring each person a little plate of fruit if they liked. Lots of options in the hot plate buffet but all seem straight from a frozen / package and not fresh at all.

Hotel with pros and cons
I booked Laprima hotel because of its good views with closer proximity to town than other luxury hotels, with a decent price tag. I think we got that!
PROS
- good sunset views from your little balcony, with plenty of space to hang wet swim gear from your days adventures
- Lush grounds with frangipani, birds of paradise, other other pretty plants
- Great pool and there is also a BBQ area and spa on site
- Decent coffee
- Comfy bed
- Clean towels each day and a shower that does not get the whole bathroom wet
- Box breakfast provided for early departures (ours was good)!
CONS
- The food is just okay- some variety, fresh fruit every day, nice layout of dining space, but not great cooking. Also, don’t expect Western choices (not that we did)
- Low quality toiletries so don’t forget your own, especially conditioner and even bar soap
- the worst problem was that we were not picked up at the appointed time at the airport and the man at the front desk lied about someone coming for us! We had pre arranged our pick-up through Trip.com beforehand, but when we walked out the door of the airport… no one was there with our names OR the name of the hotel on a paper. No biggie, we call the number of the hotel and the man says that someone will be there in five minutes. We wait ten before calling again and the man assures us that someone is in the parking lot so we just have to find him. Meanwhile of course there is a huge crowd of taxi drivers begging to take us, but we don’t want to stand up our driver so we lug our suitcases and backpacks down the steps and search the parking lot for any van or bus with our hotel name on it. No sign. So we call AGAIN and ask what’s going on and the man says (no joke), “Sorry, we had a VIP arrive and couldn’t help you right away.” So we got the message loud and clear that we were not important. Finally, we get some taxi driver to take us to the hotel. It’s been 40 sweaty minutes and since the hotel is only ten minutes away by car, we could have been there and back again a few times at this point. We pull into the driveway and there is the hotel van, parked in the shade. Needless to say, we were pretty mad but we’re trying not to lose our cool. The man at the desk really did not know what to do. He didn’t offer to upgrade us until we suggested it and he seemed unsure how to handle the situation at all. It seems looking back that it was just a problem of miscommunication and very inadequate training. Perhaps the front desk is not his usual role and he was just there for low season. But beware. It made me have trust issues with anything else the hotel provided. Would we get our laundry back? Would they really have our breakfast boxes ready on time for our early pick- up? That one was almost a no as well. To be fair, the same man did help us print a document several days later. I don’t want to vilify him. But he really messed up the first impression!

The location is not far from the airport. This building has a buffet and a supermarket on the ground floor, which is very convenient. The room is relatively clean. The price/performance ratio is very good. The service attitude is also OK. The room is small but clean

It's such a good place. The staff are absolutely brilliant. They really are cool. Whenever I needed help, advice, or assistance with my room they were so polite and caring to help me. This is the kind of stuff that really makes a holiday extra pleasant.
The room itself is very good. The furnishings and facilities are wonderful. It's like a small apartment. You really could stay there long term. The cleaning service is delivered every single day and the room feels brand new every time. It's located a matter of seconds off the main *****, which is perfect as it saves you from street noise. There's even a nice view of the ocean. It's great.
Thank you EVERYONE, at Komodo Suites. I hope to return very soon.

The property is beautifully decorated and the private balcony offers a fantastic view and spot to watch sunset. As the name hints the property is located on a hillside which means there are a lot of steps. However it’s worth it for the view! It also means that amenities like water are hard to deliver, and we had to wait for more water to be pumped up- not an issue just something to note. Overall the property has a lovely rustic charm, but I would advise brining water or wine/drinks to enjoy on the balcony (there is a fridge) as the restaurant doesn’t have anything other than beer and it’s a bit of a distance to the shop. The staff were really kind & helpful with all of my questions. I would stay again 😀

Located about 2kms from the harbour but Grab moto taxis are good value. The staff are friendly and helpful. My delux double room was spacious. The aircon unit was very quiet. The TV had a number of channels but none in english. There was bench space to lay clothes and two coathangers Lighting was very good. The bathroom is of decent size with a segregrated shower. Excellent hot water and water pressure. The room is cleaned daily if that is your desire. The shared balcony area was for three rooms. I had a table, bench seat and a clothes drying rack. For breakfast they have an Indonesian buffet or three different western options which was basically different omelets. The hotel maybe away from downtown but you enjoy the benefit of peace and quiet as well as the value for money accommodation.

Nice, big room with the terrace and bathroom ( hot shower),
Breakfast included with the booking. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed on 3 separate occasions and left our lagguage with no issue. We asked for hot water every day which was delivered to room. Very good place to stay for the price in Labuan Bajo.

JJesslynReally really love my experience here!! I knew Ayana was good and I even saw some videos online yett I was still sooooo impressed when I arrived there. We did some water activity which were really fun. The service was good and this has become a special place for us! If there is one thing that can be improved is the breakfast, we felt like it was just so so in comparison to all the other things that we experienced there. Thanks Ayana!!
GGuest UserOnce in a while, we need to getaway from hustle and bustle of the capital city. we always looking for tranquility and convenience. This resort offer both in manners that we have not experience anywhere else. First of all the location. it's not too close to the city center but not too far as well. still walkable but we find that having a motorcycle or car is a convenience. We can enjoy the unobstructed amazing sunset view from the poolside bar. The spectrum of menu from both the food and the beverages are amazing. I recommend the Sudamala Breeze and Ikan Bakar Sudamala (the sambal/spicy paste can be too hot for some) that for me they are the perfect pairing. My wife and my son loves the spa. they offer traditional massage oils. One thing that I love about the place is that it's located right in front of the nicely paved pedestrian path to the city (the stretch of the main road is around 5km and therefore 10km a loop) . I recommend to bring a pair of road trainer and enjoy the early morning jog!
GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay in meuorah, the staffs were friendly especially mbak novi whom help us through our check in even showing us our room, we went for our honeymoon and the room was decorated very nicely, we got a welcome cake and it was delicious, the scenery in the lobby, the pool, the room and restaurant were phenomenal, it is an open space with direct view to the ocean with a lot of boats parking around. Overall an easy 10/10, will come back again if I visit bajo in the future
GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel for one night either side of our Liveaboard trip (so two nights). It’s cheap and extremely accessible for the port, so idea if you just want somewhere to sleep either side. However, the basic and superior rooms are almost entirely two different hotels. We initially booked basic, as the pictures looked fine, but these rooms were terrible. Incredibly small and dark, filled with mosquitos, shower didn’t work properly and the room was incredibly loud at night and right until the early hours because of the strangest disco which seemed to only have like 4 people in attendance but still played all night. After complaining about our room and asking to be moved to the new building for the second night of our stay (when we returned from our Liveaboard), where all the rooms were the superior ones, it was like a completely different hotel. Room was much nicer and all the issues were resolved. The price difference between the two was only small, so just don’t even consider staying unless you book the superior room. Breakfast was fine, fairly basic and nothing to get excited about, but good enough. Music over breakfast was strangely loud though.
GGuest UserWe booked two nights and stayed 6 nights. Contrary to most hotels, Sylvia hotel is situated at a nice stretch of beach. Around high tide there is excellent snorkelling right from the beach. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is quiet and most room have a terrace with sea view. The price quality is excellent. The only negative site is that it is 5 km from Labuan Bayo centre and the only transport is a taxi or the irregular hotel shuttle bus at taxi price. There only a few Indonesian and Italian dishes on the menu. The service at the restaurant is slow. There are no other restaurant at walking distance.
GGuest UserRoom: Not big, a little crowded after adding a bed, but enough, after all, most of the time is spent on the beach, restaurant and sea. The decoration is primitive, not as luxurious as Maldives
Food: It is strongly recommended to choose breakfast included. The breakfast set is very rich and you have to lean on the wall to eat. Lunch and dinner need to be ordered separately. The price is a little expensive (100+rmb per person), which is still cheaper than Maldives. The taste is not bad, but there are fewer choices
Environment: More than 80% of the islands are Europeans and Americans. Except for meal time, there are basically few people. The color level of the glass sea is not bad, but it is slightly worse than Semporna (Mataking), and the beach is average. The signal is really bad.
Underwater: Absolutely~ How many islands can you see Jack Storm by snorkeling? There are all kinds of other fish schools, lionfish, clownfish, turtles, small sharks, and silly Titan triggers. Snorkeling enthusiasts should not miss it! At 11 o'clock every day when the tide is low, you can see the sea directly at the pier. Giant clams, sea urchins, and corals are all in sight without getting into the water
SSRoom was very smal and smelled.. We even had a problem with hot water which forced us to change room after the room was being prepared for 3 hours.
Breakfast was very ordinary.
GGuest UserVery close to the airport about 5min walk, however a 25min walk to the harbour luckily all downhill. Would recommend taking a grabscooter since they have no grabcar in the town. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was surprisingly big so it took some time to cool the room down with air conditioning. Besides that the beds were nice and the toilet and shower were as well
This place is magical... It's located on a hill, in the middle of nowhere with absolute privacy (not a lot of neighboring hotels), literally a few steps away from a beautiful Waecicu Eden beach... A few km away from the city, you won't hear any mosque prayer. Really calm and romantic. We would recommend this place for couples/families to chill. Careful though, accessible by boat with no strong wifi (but we didn't mind this at all). We also didn't have hot water but again, we didn't mind ;) The staff was super kind and warm. The reception/entrance/restaurant, at the bottom of the hill, in front of the beach, is big with many tables and sofas to relax. The room is quite simple but clean and comfortable, with a beautiful ocean view. A lot of steps, so definitely not for those with weak legs. 100% recommend this place for couple or family getaway, perfect to relax and really romantic.
