Udaipur Hotels with Bars

Lake Palace floating in the middle of Lake Pichola is a classic image of Udaipur. This historic building is no longer a royal palace but a hotel. LP calls it a world-renowned hotel. This may be an overstatement. But the first time I saw it in a magazine in white years ago, I remembered it.         Looking at the palace in the water from different angles by the lake will make people curious, especially in the beautiful light of sunrise and sunset. So the next night, I boarded the lake palace from a special dock near the lake. There are yachts on Lake Pichola, but they are only open during the day. It is a rare opportunity to take a boat at night, especially looking at the lights reflected on the water of the city palace and lake palace. The moment is really beautiful, and sitting Boat to the hotel in the middle of the lake is even more special experience.         From landing to entering the hotel lobby, there will be several staff to guide, welcome speech, take luggage, order cinnabar, hand towels and welcome drinks, and so on. The division of labor is clear. These are the standard procedures for this type of hotel. The welcome petals were sprinkled from the upstairs terrace. No one was visible in the darkness, and there was a feeling of falling from the sky. After Check in, my sister in Sari took me to the room. The hotel is large, and my room is on the other side. I followed her along the way to observe her gait. I have to say that Indian women walking in sari are really swaying.         In addition to its special location and history as a palace, one of the reasons for this hotel's famousness may have appeared on the big screen as the scene of ”Octopus” in the 007 series of 1983 films. However, I don't have much impression of this movie, and the look from the lobby to the room has made me a little disappointed. It is not as magnificent as I thought, and there is a trace of oldness. The hotel upgraded the room type for me free of charge. The view from the lake view room was very good.         I got up early the next morning, opened the curtains, and there was already light on the lake outside. Looking up from the hotel, the slightly cool air is very fresh, and the city and lake in the morning light are quiet and dreamy, making people feel refreshed. After watching the morning scenery, I walked around. There is no second guest who wakes up early in the large hotel, which gives me a kind of exclusive joy. The pure white hotel looks noble and elegant, and the garden is exquisite, but I still think it is overly praised in all travel guides.         Had lunch at the hotel before check out, and luckily chose the best location. Looking out of the pavilion, the city palace on the opposite side looks like gold-plated in the sun. Pigeons glide across the sparkling water, and the dinghies that transport guests from time to time shuttle on the lake. Maybe hundreds of years ago, the princes were here, and they looked at the beautiful city they created with satisfaction.

Hotel didn't meet my expectations. I am currently staying in this hotel on 25th Jan. They forgot to provide basic amenities like hand washing soap/ liquid in bathroom, and it required two phone calls and over 30 minutes wait to receive it. We had checked in very late around 8pm. Rooms were clean but has very limited storage. It was impossible to reach them over the phone , despite my multiple attempts on phone after making booking. We used their restorant where staff served food but didn't provide any plates and cultlary. Upon requesting them they did provide us plates but there was no apology for it. Instead, staff told me its ok because food is still warm. I had requested mosquito reppelent machine in room but never received it.

Such a fantastic stay - cannot rate this less than 5 stars. The breakfast was delicious and staff were so attentive. Thank you!

Stayed for 3 days, lake view room Advantages: near the lake, with independent yard, relatively safe, you can see the lake view Disadvantages: The service is very good on the surface. It is very nice. It cannot be executed on the ground. There are unwashed blood stains on the bed and Xiaoqiang is crawling. As soon as I entered the first room, I found that the light was broken and it kept flashing, and the switch was also faulty. The visitor didn't fix his breath, communicated 3 times, and changed the room. I was very enthusiastic to help with the luggage, but the body odor in the second room was obvious. I opened the window and it took a long time to ventilate. Every time I cleaned and replaced, I was short of things. I had to call for it, but it would be delivered soon. The original mineral water in the hotel is a pink brand called Java. It is recommended not to drink it. When it is boiled, it is full of suspended scales. It is fine if you buy it outside. Check out on the last day. It is 11 o'clock when the reservation is made. The hotel phone reminder is 10:30, and the delay is up to 11:30. The attitude is rather blunt. Looking at the hotel for 7000 rupees a night, the difference between hygiene and details is too big, but the hardware is OK

We spent 2 nights at Taj Fateh Prakash last week and came away bowled by the gorgeous decor, elegant ambience, stunningly beautiful views and exceptional art-work and heritage artefacts in every nook and corner! The entry to the hotel itself is SO charming...with the lake-facing entrance beautifully decorated ...added to which guests are being welcomed everytime you arrive, with a folk-musician playing the traditional Ravanhatha , the melodies of which just captures one's heart! Our room had a common lake-facing balcony and was very spacious, tastefully decorated, with beautiful fixtures and best quality of flooring, furniture and bathroom accessories. The view from the room/balcony was the icing on the cake - we could gaze at the gorgeous lake , see the beautiful houseboats and Lake Palace hotel, mountain tops etc accompanied by a stunning sunset skyline! The start to our stay was with the Heritage Walk conducted by our very knowledgeable and utterly helpful guide, Suresh ...who not only told us delightful facts about the miniature paintings and history behind each painting/artifact, the royal Darbar Hall & other rooms , but also recommended a genuine store selling beautiful miniature paintings etc ; plus assisted us in arranging a good Darshan at Eklingji & Naathdwara. His tour of the City Palace was also fantastic with so many interesting stories he narrated! Our historical/heritage walk was doubly enhanced thanks to such an experienced and warm person like Suresh! All the staff at Taj are very attentive & courteous; especially would recommend our room attendant and the restaurant staff who were always enquiring about our comfort & requirements & attending to them promptly. The food was awesome too with Breakfast which had enormous variety of Indian & Continental items...and dinner too had interesting not-so-typical-Indian dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed! The chef Rajeshji was very affable and voluntarily shared some recipes with me once I praised certain dishes. Another sweet gesture was when Taj kept for us a cake in our room and decorated our room with balloons, when they learnt it was our anniversary. A wonderful thing organised by the hotel is the Sandhya Arati (like the Ganga Arati ) and traditional folk singing & dance in the evening. The traditional dancers and singers were truly awesome; it was a fantastic performance ! I found Udaipur a very romantic city, and also a very clean city with plenty of places to visit, soaked in history & having interesting local food. Our stay was enhanced multifold because of the perfect stay at Taj amidst such gorgeous surroundings and in a place steeped with beauty , royalty and history. Thank you Taj Fatehprakash for making our stay memorable!

The hotel is really great, we were greeted warmly by the staff and they even upgraded our deluxe room to a suite in the 11th floor. Amazing view from the room and extremely clean with all amenities. There is also a pool on the rooftop where you can enjoy a coffee with city view. Great meals as well throughout the day. Overall, very happy with my stay.

The stay was wonderful. Hotel is pretty neat and clean and the restaurant offers a wide range of food ( veg only. The bar is also at the roof top offering a scenic view of the city. The staff at the restaurant (especially chanda) was very helpful as she took great care of our baby while doing her duties so that we could have our lunch properly. Overall a pleasant stay. Would like to come again with family.

World class service, more than that very personalized In fact, we had some sickness in the family and the hotel was very ”homely”, took care of the kids like their own Facilities were really good Food was wholesome, when we ordered a dish, several snacks, salad etc were offered in addition to the entree I would recommend this ”palace” to anyone wanting to have an experience of feeling like royalty or family

The roof top be restaurant has the best view where the city is. Full of lights. Service is also good, but all the room doors open some 20-30 metres from kitchen so at time there is always some noise and food smell etc, but since it is designed that way i don't think it will be changed. Regarding food breakfast and dinner was ok. We had breakfast and dinner package, but dinner for us had very very limited options one type of dal, rice, 2 sabji, salad nana roti and salad sweet. For rest all we had to pay, we paid additional money for what we had ordered, but this should have been mentioned when we had booked the hotel.
