"Smaller than expected. As you walk in. Greeted by a nasty disgusting sweat stained couch that looks like it was brought from a dump. When I asked the host to please bring a blanket to cover the couch. They said sure thing. And never returned. Toilet was cracked. Shower door on last legs. Bedroom and bathroom the walls and ceiling where moulded. Bed had stains in it. The blanket ontop of the bed was very used and abused. Then other tenants just come home at all times of the evening and morning making hell of a noise. 3 good things. Bed was comfy. Shower was amazing besides the door. And Sanele who checked us out on Saturday morning was very very pleasant to deal with. "

"We stayed at Dei Gracia Guest House for approximately 28 days during a visit to Durban after booking privately with the owner. At the time of booking we were shown photos of the guest house and our understanding was that this would be the accommodation. A few days before arrival we received a message welcoming us to the “holiday house,” which we understood to be part of the same property. During our stay we spent time in both the holiday house and the guest house. The property consists of several buildings on the same premises, including the owner’s residence at the front, the guest house behind it, and the holiday house further back. During the stay we raised a number of maintenance and cleanliness concerns. These included a bathroom door that came off before being repaired, a shower that did not drain properly and did not have a shower curtain, and mould in some areas. We also observed signs of pests during the stay, including cockroaches and droppings in drawers. On one occasion a cockroach was found inside the toaster. After raising these concerns we were temporarily moved to another unit on the property while some issues were being addressed. That unit did not have cooking facilities available to us. Travellers may wish to confirm which specific unit they will be staying in and the facilities available before confirming a booking."

"I recently took a group of around 20 to Durban and we decided on Sica’s. That turned out to be the right decision. Carri-Ann communicated regularly with us prior to our arrival and from the moment we arrived there the friendly staff took good care of us. We had dinner there and the food was outstanding. Breakfast was included and the choice was great. They didn’t mind making omelettes. The rooms were spacious with enough packing space and clean and the beds nice and firm. The shower water warmed quickly and good strength. Overall a five star stay!"
