A really exceptional hotel with the best staff as well. Arrived Monday 30th September around 2.20 informed staff or arrival and they asked me to take a seat as rooms were still getting ready, the hotel was very very busy with people waiting to be picked up and also new people arriving. The guys on reception were doing their best to keep everyone happy and I was very happy with the service I received. I got checked in at 3pm and got allocated room 81 3rd floor older side of hotel, the room was spacious and I had enough room to adequate move around it was a single room facing towards the back of the hotel. The room was clean and spotless in parts, bed was comfy and bathroom was a good size. Like all hotels in Blackpool the baths and power in the showers are not great however it’s been the first hotel in Blackpool that I’ve had hot shower 🚿 so that was a plus, my only gripe was at around 6am every morning the bins got filled from the previous night, I’m not sure if it was this hotel or another one next door, was just a bit of a nuisance as I’m a light sleeper, saying that it only lasted 10-15 minutes so was not a disaster. The hotel is spacious and I love the dining room, the staff like around the hotel work tirelessly to make sure your stay is enjoyable as it can be and nothing is too much trouble for any of them, there was a lass in the restaurant who was very polite and even though she didn’t and couldn’t speak a huge amount of English she was very smiley and always said hi 👋 the staff serving tea and buffet were fantastic also and very gracious in their portion sizes. Heard a few people griping about the bar prices, to be honest for me being a tight Scotsman I found the prices really good £4.20 for a pint of dark fruits cider and a service with a smile is a win for me! The nightly entertainment is excellent as well always some to ing different on and always a good laugh. The hotel is right outside Manchester Square tram stop which is ideal for people who are unable to walk or move a huge amount. I met lots of nice people while at hotel as well, Neil and David on reception are fantastic and so happy to help as well. Overall I will return to this hotel, hoping to go back next April. Thanks guys Callum Wilson

Another brill weekend at the Craig-y-don the hotel is spotless and food is excellent. The staff are so professional, do everything possible to make you feel at home. A wee special mention to the friendliest dining room waiter in Blackpool, take a bow Keith an absolute gem of a guy.

I didn't go and I'm glad according to what I've heard from friends . I am disabled NO DISABLED FACILITIES . My friend is a double below the knee amputee and he was given a THIRD FLOOR ROOM and the lift was out of order . I will not be booking any break in the craig-y-don after what I've been told

Room was great and spacious, the bathroom was big, bright, clean, and the shower was lovely. Breakfast and dinner was good and Keith our waiter was superb. He was always happy to help and always had a smile on his face. I would happily stay here again.

We were originally booked in at the for a stay at the Balmoral but The Craig-Y-Don had recently taken on the adjacent Balmoral and knocked through downstairs but not upstairs. Unfortunately the lift in the Balmoral side was out of order for our complete stay Friday to Monday and as pensioners the top floor was quite exhausting especially for our 88 year old friends. The room we had was very clean and well serviced with a great housekeeper but unfortunately on arrival our room had a very strong obnoxious smell of methane gas. Within less than fifteen minutes my partner and I had headaches and sore throats and eyes. We quickly reported this to the reception who sent maintenance to clear the problem which was reported as the shower outlet, from that point on the smell was only slight and occasional as it was on the stairs from time to time, we were informed that there had been slight problems since the two buildings were combined. Lastly the shower cubicle was tiny and far to small as was the hand basin and far from adequate but there was plenty of hot water. The food was good and the restaurant staff were excellent and a special mention to Keith who went above and beyond to help everyone being most professional and friendly an absolute credit to the hotel, Jessica and Flo were also absolutely brilliant. In fact all the staff were brilliant all need a mention really. Entertainment was good and alcohol etc prices were good. With a few of the problems getting sorted and prevented in the future there is no reason you can not enjoy a stay at the Craig-Y-Don and will/would go back any time.

Keith the waiter is very polite, he always had a smile on his face. He was very helpful. He made you feel welcome. The food is buffet style. Basic value hotel. Room are OK, shower room bit small. Not good if you aren't good on your feet no disabled access and front.

Our holiday was an absolute shambles. The whole hotel ended up with food poisoning from raw chicken being served as that’s what Keith the waiter told us was going on. We were booked in for the Balmoral and ended up in that mess of a hotel. Nobody had reached out to tell us what had happened to the Balmoral and that we would be in the Craig Y Don instead. Most of the staff were lovely minus a few being quite rude and short fused with us and the kids. We had been forgotten about at dinner numerous times leaving us with dirty plates for over an hour and then having no dessert left for us or for the kids. The hotel was disgusting, dirty and unkept with random workers trying to get into our room of 4 teenage girls at 2am.
