Food was really good. Entertainment was good especially compere. Prices at bar were a bit steep but i suppose you pay extra with the entertainment provided. Would go back.

Just come back from a weekend here with my partner, his mum and a friend. The hotel is so out dated and definitely needs to be brought up to date. Our room was on the small size which reflected in the price we paid. Can not complain about the food at all. Absolutely delicious. Only thing is, the menu is the same as 6 years. Think it needs to change. We was on an all inclusive weekend. The only thing that I can complain about is one of the main lifts was not working. I heard the reception people say this has only just happened and an engineer will be on site soon. What a load of rubbish. We was here in March and it was not working then and from the reviews on here it has not worked all year. We was with a disabled person too. Good job we was there to help. I definitely not recommend this hotel if you have mobility issues. VIKING HOTEL YOU NEED TO SORT YOUR LIFTS OUT. Shame on you.

I did write a review in March 2024 but it has been taken off . Well here goes upon arrival we were told that the lift was broken, it remained broke for the whole weekend 3 days . We were on the fourth floor so it was hard going at times . Seen elderly people struggling. The carpet on the stairs + landing was all threadbare + needed to be replaced the walls could have done with a lick of paint . Staff in restaurant were very rude + miserable never even said good morning or spoke to us for the whole weekend. Entertain ment singers was very good . first night , but compere / singer Buddy Lee becomes boring trying to be funny telling out of date jokes , he even uses other comedians jokes . He takes the mick out of the audience to back his act up . Says same things each night . We didn’t go into entertainment room on our 3 rd night couldn’t stomach it . We didn’t enjoy our weekend there for several reasons so we would not return back there ever again

When we arrived at the hotel it was like walking back in time the hotel was more like a residential care home like a place stuck in time it was completely dated We were given instructions for meal times and told it was bingo in the evenings There was a tiny lift to take you halfway you had to walk the rest of the way to the room. On entering the room it was like visiting my grandma house dated wallpaper and furniture Your breakfast is 8.30 to 10am dinner is 6pm to 7.30 the food is laid out in a buffet style help yourself mains are delivered to the table, food is in plenty however no healthy choice only salad This hotel is mainly old people with scooters or mobility aids more like a care home than a hotel. It’s depressing so we only used it at night time to sleep Entertainment is dated still same people who were there 10 years ago when we last visited Rooms are small but clean the housekeeping lady Becky was a vision of hope to us present and able to support us if needed I would not return to this hotel myself however if you need to take an elderly person away this would be the place to go
