Arrived around 8pm , young guy on desk , asked to see our booking showed him it & he handed us room key . Paid the price & off to our room . Room nice , clean , very hot , 1 window which we opened as far as we could. Bathroom adequate , 2 toilets rolls lol . Went down to bar ....closed . Out early next day , arrived bk at around 5...bar still not open , nobody to be seen . Went put to dinner arrived bk at 11 & off to bed ... Wakened by door being chapped by lad who checked us in asking us for our booking ref & did we pay by card , when we showed him it he then said , did u pay by card when told no cash he couldn't recall this for a moment until I reminded him that it was 16 Scottish tenners.....this suddenly came bk to him !! Bk to bed only to receive an email from booking rooms telling us we hadn't checked in on previous night......ehhhh seriously ?? Hope it was a mix up & not an attempt at a wee con as we paid in cash ! Tbf room was OK, no bar whole weekend , no breakfast offered although it said on website was available at extra cost . Doors locked Fri/ sat by 9pm ... Don't think il return ,oh & still only 2 loo rolls for 2 people for 3 days !

We arrived, and the person let us in. we got asked for our name and got handed the keys to our room as we walked though and told us room 10. i asked where is room 10? upstairs he reply'd No I.D Check not very welcoming. i asked if the bar was open and it's not. - The room was cold as anything and the heater made loud banging noises, The shower head is dirty and the fan above the room is full of dust, and we are not talking a little dust, it was black as anything, no one has clearly cleaned it in the years the new owners have been there. lucky enough it was a 1 night stay, and a saturday somewhere to kip when u come back after a few drinks to crash, the wife wasn't happy at all she just wanted to sleep in the car. thankfully we used our Tesco vouchers for the over night stay so all in all it cost us like £19.98 from the £99 fee which is pretty much like a night in a to brighton hostel services so we got our moneys worth in that sense. ********** needs to review this place again and award its stars based on the new management then the old positive ones.

I paid £85 per night for 2 nights through *********** which was advertised as breakfast included, with bar and 24 hr security. On day of travel, I noticed the price had gone down to £40 per night. when spoke to hotel to ask for the advertised price they said as I'd booked through *********** they couldn't do anything about the price I'd paid. The room was small, scruffy, dirty and in need of an update. The amount of tea / coffee in the room was very sparse, in fact there was only 1 tiny sachet of milk and a tiny bar of soap. That was the full extent of toiletries on offer. I was informed that after 10pm there would be no member of staff on site. When I returned to the room after a few hours out, there were police on the premises arresting a guy who was staying there. As a woman travelling alone this was worrying to think that he could be back to the property at any time during the night and no staff were on the premises. In the morning I went down for breakfast, only to be told that the hotel no longer did breakfast and hadn't done for months. Booking, com are still advertising breakfast at this property. Therefore at this time I decided to cut my losses and check out of the hotel. The manager said he could not refund me the money when I asked even though I was happy for £40 to be deducted for the one night I stayed. He just said because I had not booked direct, I had to persuse a refund with ***********. However, *********** say they cannot refund my money without the hotel's permission, and the hotel are not returning any calls or emails from ***********. So to-date I am over £130 out of pocket with no resolution in sight. All *********** will offer if no reply from hotel is 10% refund of cost as an offer of compensation. Would not stay in this hotel again even if the room was free. Defiantly not reflective of what is advertised on all booking sites and not worth the money it is advertised at.

Geordie is the best!! We were down from Scotland for a football tournament and after reading the reviews we’re not expecting good things. Rooms were absolutely fine for what we needed, breakfast was great and the wee bar area was brilliant for chilling in the evening. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for Geordie. Hoping to book here again for next year.

My partner and i visited Blackpool on the 22nd Oct for the weekend to watch the fireworks display. My partner is disabled and as such we needed somewhere wheelchair friendly/accessible. We found this hotel on *********** and it seemed very nice and a reasonable price too. My partner rang the hotel to confirm that it was wheelchair friendly and we were told yes it was completely wheelchair friendly. On the day before our stay Sarah from the hotel rang to confirm we were still coming and my partner asked her again if it was wheelchair friendly and would it be possible to put a chair in the shower so that she could get a shower. They were very friendly and said yes that would be ok. Next day off we went and arrived at the hotel. There was a step up to get onto the path then another slight step to get through the front door. Once i had struggled to get her inside we were told they had given us a downstairs room. The only problem was that it was a narrow corridor with a zigzag turn which again the wheelchair wouldn't go round without effort. Down the corridor to the room and you guessed it, there wasn't enough room to turn the chair into the room. The shower was that small a child would have struggled to get a shower in it let alone put a chair in it. My partner rang Sarah and was immediately verbally abused, shouted at and called a liar. We were told we never mentioned a wheelchair which we did several times. Overall a very clean place but not all the staff are friendly.

Huge fight on the floor below us, that’s started at 11:30pm and continued until 4am owners contacted to no avail, it was like an episode of Eastenders. We’ve returned home absolutely worn out because we literally got NO sleep. The rooms were clean and tidy and the coffee facilities were good but that’s the only good point to this hotel. We never saw one staff member through our stay, only the one who checked us in. When I asked where our room was the man just kept shouting ‘up’ at me. Not one to leave reviews but seriously I would save the money and go somewhere else.

We got to the hotel at 3.30 check in being between 3 and 4 the hotel was in darkness and the door locked! We phoned *********** they got in Touch with the hotel who said they had been held up and would be 15mins someone named Amy then texted us to say it would be 2 hours until we could check in! This was unacceptable luckily enough the Ruskin next door had 2 rooms for us the only good thing was they let us cancel free of charge but needless to say we won’t be booking there again!
