This apart-hotel has so much potential. It has a great location, across the street from Exito (upscale grocery store, electronics, liquor store, clothing store, pharmacy, automatic tellers, and surrounded by other non-affiliated services such as Western Union). We felt safe in this neighborhood. The neighborhood is comprised of a University, Hospital/Clinics, office buildings, apartments, single family homes, local eateries, dry cleaners, and pharmacies. It is within driving distance from more upscale restaurants and shopping malls. The room style is as pictured in their website. The rooms at the front of the hotel contain views of a transit road lined with trees, albeit you will hear street traffic sounds more prominent in the lower floors. Our room was on the 5th floor facing a side street overlooking mostly single-family homes with a mountain backdrop (they call this an interior room), which noise level is at a minimum. The toiletries were as mentioned (L'Occitane fabulous) and the linens were top notch. The crux of the lower rating, the hotel needs more attention to detail. Out stay was lengthy, 20 days, and maybe we got to see more than others. When we arrived the kitchen utensils consisted of 1 fork, 2 teaspoons, 1 coffee cup, 3 glasses (one broken), 3 plates, 2 saucers, and cooking pots. The coffeemaker carafe was broken. The full bath’s only electrical outlet did not work. As we pointed the deficiencies out, the hotel did address each one. A few days later, the tankless water system leaked, that was fixed, but 2 days later it failed completely requiring replacement. The kitchen faucet leaked, we complained, but that was never fixed. Camilo, front desk/administrator, is the main person to see if you want to get things done. He was respectful and took remedial action for each complain. I dare say, hotel staff deferred to Camilo for everything. I also like to mention that the hotel staff was friendly, that is other front desk attendants, maintenance, and housekeeping. I do not fault the employees for the maintenance issues, but rather the owners. As a hotel guest, I expect that all will be in working order upon my arrival at the hotel. The last thing I want to do is spend time complaining to the staff, and waiting for things to be fixed. My advise to the owners, if they want to see an excellent apart-hotel in function see the AKA Hotel chain,
