Amazing
EEntengInaMoWe absolutely loved our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge! Location is a solid 5/5 — close to everything we needed and super convenient for exploring Banff.
As a couple traveling on a budget, we found the price very reasonable, almost comparable to the nearby hostel, which made the comfort and quality here feel like an even better value.
Special shoutout to their toilet amenities — they smelled so good they actually made us walk into the Rocky Mountain Soap store afterward and buy things we definitely didn’t need (lol). No regrets though!
The breakfast was superb, delicious, fresh, and a perfect start to our days.
Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely stay here again!
爱爱美丽就是EmilyNestled on the slopes of Sulphur Mountain, a stone's throw from both the gondola and the Upper Hot Springs, the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is a rare find in Banff – a resort that offers both tranquility and stunning views. Its location, slightly removed from the main street, ensures exceptional quietude. Stepping out, you're greeted by pine forests and valleys, exuding that quintessential Rocky Mountain charm.
The rooms are spacious and spotless, with excellent soundproofing. The mattress, while on the softer side, provides ample support. I highly recommend opting for a Mountain View room; waking up to the sight of morning mist swirling around the peaks is incredibly therapeutic.
The hotel's dining options are of high quality, especially the Eden restaurant, which is renowned locally for its fine dining. The pool, sauna, and gym are all well-equipped, and curling up by the lobby fireplace in winter is wonderfully cozy.
Overall, while the Fairmont Banff Springs doesn't pursue an overtly luxurious style, its environment, views, and privacy are outstanding, offering great value for money. It's a consistently excellent choice in the Banff area.
GGuest UserOverall evaluation
This stay was great. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, the facilities were complete, and the service was very thoughtful.
Advantages
1. Environment: The room was quiet and the surrounding environment was clean and tidy.
2. Facilities: The equipment was complete, and the air conditioner, TV, hot water, etc. could all be used normally.
3. Service: The front desk service attitude was good, and the check-in and check-out procedures were all
AAnonymous UserThe rooms have a certain design, but aren't particularly practical. The heated pool is nice. However, the room was a bit slow to be cleaned, requiring a wait of about half an hour upon check-in. The hotel has plenty of activities to enjoy.
GGuest UserThe location is good, next to the famous Canadian steakhouse The Keg. The service is also very warm, there are hot springs in the winter to soak, you can see the snow-capped mountains. Check-in and check-out are quick. A buffet breakfast is served daily, with yoghurt and oatmeal, and the egg yolk can also meet the needs and will be recommended.
GGuest UserWe did a little staycation in Banff from Calgary and overall had a great time.
The cave pool was a big hit, but just a heads up that it’s not really a “swimming pool.” It’s more like a large cave-style hot tub. It’s shallow, and the water is fairly hot, so the kids couldn’t really swim or put their faces under the water. The cave setup is very cool though, and the adults really enjoyed it for relaxing. The dry sauna was also great.
We stayed in a suite with two double beds, plus a living area with a sofa bed, a dining area, and a kitchenette. We were happy with the layout. The suite was clean, but it is definitely dated.
One downside was the TVs. I know you don’t go to Banff to sit and watch TV, but it would be nice if they updated to smart TVs. If you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest bringing a Fire Stick or Chromecast. Even an HDMI cable to connect a laptop would work, but make sure you download movies ahead of time because the Wi-Fi in our area was pretty spotty and the kids kept losing connection.
The front desk staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. They made parking easy, provided bus passes, and explained local info without us having to ask a bunch of questions.
We’d stay here again, and next time we’ll definitely bring something for the TV so we can do an easy movie night after a busy day.
GGuest UserThe front desk was very accommodating and approachable. They were organized as there are lists of what we can do and how we can go there. There’s also a free shuttle we could use so accessing public transport was not a problem. However, when we went in the hotel room there was some trash left in the trash can. It’s not much of a problem but it kind of reflects to their housekeeping system in a way. Generally, it was clean. Another concern was that they told us we will receive the security deposit after 5-10 days but we weren’t able to get it. I’ll try to contact them about it but they told us before we left that it was already processed (this was December 18) and until now (December 26) we are still waiting.
GGuest UserIf you are a explorer and just want a room to sleep on this hotel has a great location very acessible to downtown no, it is in down town , the facilities are clean and i enjoy my stay herw
RrohitsharingThe room size was small and needed better planning on interior arrangements. Same goes for the bathroom. The room could have been better lit … dark gives gloomy impression and as if there’s something being hidden (like the floor carpet which we felt needed a better cleaning). The reception service is outstanding and people there are very helpful. They also have a fitness club and spa. The parking is in the basement and is easy. They also give complimentary bus tickets for those who want to explore places on bus. We didn’t need it as we had our own car.
