Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel is very clean, heard it’s one of the best in the city. There are many selections of breakfast, staff were very responsive to any needs and questions I had, location is great close to convenience stores and Gobi store and other stores. Taking a taxi is not easy in Mongolia, but staff can call it for you.
Also they have a good restaurant called Grill in the building with live music on at night maybe around 9/10pm, it was great experience overall.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel is located in an office building, occupying several floors. There's a convenience store and a coffee shop on the ground floor.
Check-in was brilliant! The first at reception spoke some English and checked me in at 7.30 in the morning without a problem. My room was spacious, the bed was large, although on the hard side. At this point the good things about the hotel come to an end.
Unfortunately, all the rest is quite bad. The lighting system is broken and you can't turn off the light above the bed unless you take out the key card, but then power outlets go off, so you can't sleep and charge your phone at the same time. Furniture knobs are falling apart, so does the knob on the shower. WiFi was down 2 times during my stay, including a very frustrating 12+ hour outage. Housekeeping doesn't seem to know what a Do Not Disturb sign means, entering the room regardless. Toiletries are the cheapest possible, not corresponding to the hotel name (e.g. Premium), lol.
All in all, price/quality ratio was underwhelming. I will not stay here again.
DDuerjiaThe hotel is very clean, nicely decorated, and its location is great. Many city attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast was decent, and the views were excellent. However, I was a bit disappointed that the hotel had a separate breakfast area exclusively for Korean guests, and others weren't allowed in. I would have really liked to try it.
GGuest UserI would highly recommend this hotel, it is well located near the city centre and its staff are very friendly and helpful. They arranged a car to pick us up from the airport when we arrived and helped us check the time and location of the show we wanted to see. When we arrived they upgraded our room, which was beautiful, spacious and very clean.
XXiaomangguoaimeiliThis hotel was recommended by my Mongolian colleagues, and it's excellent value for money. It's cheaper than the hotel next door, but the quality is much better! Mongolia in December is absolutely freezing, I was shivering the whole time!!
GGuest UserI usually hold off before posting these things but I'm hot and irritable so here it is and you can sort through it if you want to know details.
The air conditioner was broken in my room and he seemed to be saying that in all the rooms they were broken in some way. Either blowing air but it wasn't cold or cold but hardly blowing and besides he couldn't change my room. So while I'm doing the review, you can't get hot water in the shower. It gets briefly almost there and then cools. So no way to take a long shower or a hot bath. There is a lamp but it's unplugged. Because there is only two outlets next to each other in one place. When I unplugged The TV etc and plugged in the cute lamp it turned out the lamp flashes briefly and then doesn't work. The bulb? Oh, and then Wi-Fi stopped working and said it was start again when network quality improved. And someone had made noodles in the hot pot and it was partially scrubbed but not completely so my tea (not provided) tasted faintly of chicken soup. Other than Wi-Fi, hot water (drinking and bath) and air conditioning it was quaint and nice. Bathrobes and monogram towels. A down duvet in down pillows. In the mattress you can kind of feel the springs but they seem to have the same mattress everywhere from the hotels down to hostels so I don't know that good ones are available. And everything was clean including the carpet but did smell a little of smoke. So it's kind of like a four-star hotel and in some ways the same as a cheap guest house. And inexpensive by American standards. So even though it costs double or more then the guest houses it still cost less than a Motel 6. The best thing is you can walk to the Palace of the Dohg Khan, restaurants, grocery stores, etc and it is a place where, as my cab driver ”people in Ulaabatar live, not a tourist place”. And easy to get to because you don't have to fully enter city traffic. And I had a lively view of the real life going on from my seventh story window.
OOng Lin KuanThis location of this hotel is quite strategic considering the number of restaurant, pubs and food outlets nearby provided you are willing to do some walking.. Hotel room is clean and service is commendable. I wish to highlight one particular front reception staff for special mention. Her name is
ERDENEKHISHIG. She was kind & helpful and would go out of her way to provide service and assistance like calling a cab on our behalf. However this hotel also has her shortcomings. Breakfast is too basic and monotonous. Bread which is the most universal item is not available. Also check out time at 10am is ridiculously early. It also puzzles me that this hotel still provide smoking rooms which is totally umnecessary as the current trend is towards non smoking rooms for the whole hotel. I hope my positive feedback will help your hotel to upgrade her image further.
GGuest UserThe Novotel in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, provides a modern, comfortable, and consistent international hotel experience with a central location, making it easy to walk to popular spots. Key features include friendly, English-speaking staff, spacious and well-equipped rooms, and a good gym and pool area.
GGuest UserI stayed at Eagle Town a second time on my way home from Mongolia, and even though I arrived late, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, especially the guy at the front desk whose name I didn't catch. He got me a ride to the airport the day after, and -- although this was a misunderstanding -- had prepared the room specially to house four people (I was traveling alone, but Trip.com had made it look like there were four of us).
The rooms are nice, with very comfortable beds, perfect after having been in the countryside for a week. The location is rather close to Chinggis Khan Airport, or at least as close as you're likely to get for now, and there are plenty of grocery stores and convenience stores in the area. I didn't have any use for the kitchen, but it seemed to be supplied with at least some basics for people who want to cook themselves.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a very good location that it is walkable on some of the sites in UB.
The hotel, though clean, is very old already. No airconditioner nor elevator. The area is also for nightllife so it could be loud around at times.
Breakfast is included but not worth it. Two pieces of bread plus a tea bag and pot of hot water.
