Aloha Apartments
"The main thing was the location in the centre of town as well as being serviced by the tourist operators with a pick up at the apartments. The amenities are clean and serviceableto a high standard. The staff interaction was exceptional even with dealing with issues from a third party (island arial down)"
Cumberland Resort & Spa
"Rail greeted us with friendly hospitality and gave amazing advice for touring the island. Lovely clean rooms toaster and coffee machine made it easy to have breakfast and cook in our room instead of eating out. "
Paradise Hotel & Resort
"Best Red Velvet Cake we've had! Be careful here the prices on menus don't include tax. The lunch menu was very limited due to supplies at the time. Had better options for dinner. Beautiful atmosphere and gardens. Great service. Tranquil place to eat."
Castaway Norfolk Island
"We always use Trip Advisor when booking accommodation and it is easy to see why the Castaway was rated number 1 by travellers. We had a lovely apartment which was larger than what we expected. Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The owners of the hotel are lovely friendly people, as we found all locals to be, but they went further than what one would normally expect. The day after arriving, our hosts arranged for a hire car for us, but it was not available until 12:30pm. This normally would not have been a problem, except that we needed to do some food shopping and most shops closed at 12:00. We were offered their private vehicle so that we could do our shopping which was a very pleasant and welcome surprise. All the team at the hotel we found to be friendly and helpful. Pizza night on Fridays is not to be missed as they are some of the best pizzas we have had for quite some time. Also the local beers brewed by their brewery are all recommended. We have no hesitation in recommending the Castaway and would obviously stay there again if we visited Norfolk Islnd again"
Ocean Breeze Cottages
"Very quiet, well appointed, well maintained, excellent outlook to the southern side of the island, the personal touch with the hosts welcoming us on our arrival from the airport. Great location near the centre of the island made it easy to get anywhere. Just up the road from Governor’s Lodge and just 5 minutes to the middle of the main road through the village shops etc."
Daydreamer Apartments
"Convenient quiet location, within walking distance to Burnt Pine town centre. Well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean apartment. Choice of one or two bedrooms. Generous quantity of bath towels supplied."
Seaview Norfolk Island
"We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage with a seaview overlooking Phillip Island. This was our 11th and 12th trip to Norfolk and our first time staying here. We were collected at the Airport and at check-in our rental car was waiting. Easy check in and rental agreement. The following morning we had a complimentary half day tour of the island with a knowledgeable bus driver. The cottage had everything you would need for a stay. There is no air conditioning but ceiling fans in bedrooms and lounge. Comfortable beds, sofas and outdoor furniture on the verandah. We sat out soaking up the view, tranquility and quietness while enjoying a beverage or two. Staff are friendly and most helpful. There is a bottle shop on site with nicely priced alcohol. So great, we have booked for February 2026."
Poinciana Cottages
"Poinciana Cottages are close to the airport but do not suffer from any airport noise whatsoever. The planes do not fly overhead and from the cottages you cannot hear them take off or land. The cottages are situated down a short gravel driveway from the main street, along which is a level concrete footpath which makes the short walk into town quite pleasant (but use the supplied torch if walking at night, as there are no streetlights!). Each cottage is very private with a calming, restful view from the verandah, over well-maintained green fields to Mount Bates. Our recently painted 'Daisy' cottage was fully equipped to a superior standard, making it truly a home away from home for us. The cottage has a bedroom with a HUGE bed and a wardrobe with good hanging space and drawers; large modern bathroom with a great, roomy shower; separate washing machine and tub; kitchen with full fridge, convection/microwave oven, two-burner cooktop, single-drawer dishwasher; dining area; lounge room with TV, CD player, books, overhead fan and gas heater and a verandah with an outdoor setting. A mobile phone for use during your stay as you cannot use your own phone to call (or receive calls from) Norfolk Island numbers - although we could still use our own mobile phone to receive/ring Australian numbers. There is a clothes horse on the verandah and clothes line under the carport. The adjoining carport was a unique and very handy bonus compared to other Norfolk Island accommodation. There is a separate fully equipped common BBQ area. Even though the cottages are serviced once a week, we were supplied with two complete sets of bath towels so we could change them mid-week. The owners Jackie and Peter are lovely people - very unobtrusive but doing all they can to make sure you have a great time. Staying at Poinciana Cottages was a very memorable experience for all the right reasons - faultless and the most complete holiday accommodation experience that we have ever had."
Whispering Pines Cottages
"Great cabin and excellent facilities, thoroughly recommend staying at Whispering Pines. Quiet and only a short drive to Burnt Pine. The provision of extra things like a picnic basket and beach towels was certainly a surprise, even a French press in the kitchen."
