"We stayed in the "lighthouse" as a novelty. It had 2 floors. The bedroom was the upper floor with an A/C unit that was sufficient for that area. The lower level had a ceiling fan, couch, coffee table and bathroom. There was a slider out to a deck. The included breakfast was good. There was a little beach but the water stayed churned up from all of the taxi boat traffic. The staircase to the second floor is steep and, in my opinion, dangerous. There was no advanced notice about the staircase. It would be difficult if a person had mobility issues and dangerous for children. The bathroom, while big enough, had issues. The plastic toilet seat was too small and moved all around. The shower had a very "interesting" repair that seemed unsafe. It looked like wires hanging near the shower head with the ends wrapped in black tape. Additionally, there was a repair to the tile with a black substance that ran down the wall when the shower was on causing us to stand in the black water or hug the side to avoid it."

"Casa Acuario is hands-down the best place my spouse and I have ever stayed. We spent a week enjoying its magic, half our time in a sea-level room and the other half upstairs. From start to finish, it was perfect. The rooms have been beautifully renovated by the owners, who’ve clearly put a lot of care into every detail. Each space is very comfortable, with thoughtful touches like eye masks, ear plugs, and white noise machines that helped a light sleeper, like me, sleep soundly. The rooms also have good A/C, fast WiFi, smart TVs, and more tech than you'll probably need because, let’s be honest, the real luxury is outside. The sea-level rooms literally let you step straight from your room into the ocean. The setting on Isla Carenero is ideal: laid back but just a quick water taxi ride away from Bocas Town. The views of Bocas Town and the sunsets from the sundeck never get old. The hosts and all the staff were welcoming, incredibly friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Their recommendations for food, activities, and local experiences were spot-on every time. Breakfast each morning on the cozy patio was such a treat. The food was fresh and delicious. We also made good use of the complimentary paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkel gear. If you’re considering a stay at Casa Acuario—go. We’re already dreaming about our next visit."
