"I recently stayed at the Nittany Lion Inn for 4 nights and 5 days, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. The rooms were great — clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The hallways were absolutely amazing, lined with bookcases and cozy seating areas, all surrounded by fascinating history that truly made the Inn feel special and unique. The mocktails at Triplets were delicious, and the coffee at the café was just as impressive — such a treat during our stay. We were in town because my daughter danced at THON, so we were coming and going at all hours. It was incredibly comforting to be somewhere that felt so safe, welcoming, and conveniently close to everything we needed. Every single staff member was absolutely incredible. I never once arrived or left without someone opening a door for me — that level of attentiveness and hospitality does not go unnoticed. Everyone was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout our entire stay. I do need to especially mention Claire. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, she made our stay so comforting. When my flight was canceled, Claire went above and beyond to ensure my son and I were taken care of. She helped us navigate our travel changes and made a stressful situation so much easier. Her kindness and professionalism truly stood out. Thank you for making what was already a meaningful trip even more memorable. We will absolutely be back!"

"PROS: excellent location, short drive to PSU, brand new, comfortable. CONS: Front desk staff terribly under-trained. Breakfast was depressing compared to other TRUs I have stayed at. Parking lot spaces and aisles are so small it’s difficult to maneuver into a spot between other vehicles. BIGGEST CON: I booked and paid for 2 rooms in advance. After I checked out, an additional charge appeared on my statement as if I had booked a 3rd room. When I contacted the hotel, they couldn’t explain the charge but said the manager would return my call. Corporate couldn’t help at all. Trying to resolve it was incredibly frustrating. The undertrained front desk clerk should not have tried to argue with me about the charge they could not explain, the manager should have returned my call within 2 business days, or I should have been able to speak with a representative versed in billing. When I didn’t hear back from the manager after 3 days, I just did a chargeback through my bank since it was obviously an error."

"The hotel facilities are relatively new, two blocks away from Wal-Mart, and there are several restaurants nearby. Breakfast was simple."

"The main unit of the air conditioner is indoors and the noise is too loud. When the toilet is filled with water, the strange sound and powerful vibrations wake up the sleepers!"

"A decent budget hotel conveniently located near Penn State University. The room was clean and had the basic amenities like a microwave and mini-fridge. Breakfast was simple but enough to get you started—I was expecting better actually. Staff were friendly and check-in was smooth. Overall, it’s a good value for a short stay if you’re visiting the campus or attending an event."
