Steigenberger Hotel Köln ★★★★
"Beautiful hotel, with very spacious and well-maintained rooms. The staff were always kind and helpful, and the breakfast was truly excellent. Highly recommended property. The only minor drawback: you can hear some outside noise because the windows aren't perfectly soundproofed."
Hyatt Regency Cologne ★★★★★
"It's located across from Cologne Cathedral, and looks spectacular lit up at night. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I was happy to have free water in the room, but perhaps because Germany is an environmentally advanced country, it was bottled water rather than plastic bottles. It's inconvenient to carry around, but it was enough for making tea in the room. If I had to say something negative, it would be that you have to cross a bridge to get to Cologne Cathedral and the station, but you have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel entrance. It was a bit inconvenient to go up and down with a suitcase."
Pullman Cologne ★★★★
"location is great, hotel seems slightly older but totally no issues for me at all. when going for global, premium hotels, you wont go wrong. room is clean and have all we need! most importantly the free mini bar is a nice touch! staff are friendly & welcoming too!"
Excelsior Hotel Ernst am Dom ★★★★★
"Well located, very old rooms. Restaurant beautiful and sophisticated, unfortunately very few opinions and expensive"
Hilton Cologne ★★★★★
"They don’t even provide free water or a kettle. They also make you pay 50 euros upfront, which is annoying, since it could simply be charged at checkout, as is normal if you consume anything from the minibar."
Mondial am Dom Hotel Cologne - MGallery Collection ★★★★
"This hotel's Cologne Cathedral view is absolutely breathtaking, but what was equally impressive were the location, service, and cleanliness. When I first arrived from the train station, I foolishly didn't look up the route properly and ended up dragging my heavy luggage up and down stairs, when I could have avoided them by taking a different path. Despite the difficult journey to the hotel, the staff greeted us so warmly and genuinely wished my sister a happy birthday that all my weariness turned into joy. And when we got to the room, we were greeted with such an amazing view and a beautiful room! Thanks to this, we had a wonderful time in Cologne for two days, listening to the bells of Cologne Cathedral. When checking out and heading back to the train station, I followed the staff's directions and found a flat, easy route back. Oh, the only minor inconveniences were the opaque glass in the bathroom and having to shower in the bathtub."
Mercure Hotel Koeln Belfortstrasse ★★★★
"Slightly remote from main city, around 5 min walk to the nearest U-Bahn station, but overall cleanness and facilities were fine. Air con included"
Cologne Marriott Hotel ★★★★★
"The facilities are showing their age, especially the bathroom. There's only a bathtub, and showering in it felt inconvenient and somewhat unsafe due to how slippery it was. Cleanliness was acceptable. The location is excellent, less than a 5-minute walk from the train station. The breakfast service was a bit uncomfortable; you couldn't serve yourself coffee, and staff would clear plates before we were finished eating, which made us feel rushed and quite uneasy. I suppose they might have thought this was attentive service."
Premier Inn Koln City Sud ★★★
"This stay was a truly fantastic experience, earning a five-star rating! The hotel's location is a real plus. It's right next to the subway station and a few minutes' walk from the shopping district and food court, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The most surprising thing was the service. The front desk clerk greeted us with a smile throughout, checking us in quickly, and proactively recommended nearby hidden gems and must-try restaurants, even providing tips on avoiding pitfalls. He was incredibly thoughtful. The room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The sheets and duvet cover had a subtle fragrance and were wrinkle-free. The bedding was as soft as a cloud, making it impossible to get up. The soundproofing was excellent, so I couldn't hear any outside noise at night, and I slept soundly until I woke up naturally, completely free of fatigue. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, complete with toiletries, and the hot water supply was always available."
