"A hotel and a room that are nothing like a 3-star "Privilège" ... On the occasion of the 666 Festival, we came to sleep in this hotel. I am myself surprised to have to put a negative review given all the positive reviews that I have seen concerning the Henri IV hotel on Tripadvisor. The positives: - The bedding is of good quality - The room is rather cute but not worth its price (Privilège double 90€) - The location in relation to the Festival (13.5km) - The place is calm and pleasant despite the nearby train station. The negatives: - No reception from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday (so no physical reception for us who arrived around 3 p.m.). - The cleanliness of the bathroom (see photos). - The friendliness/professionalism of the staff, especially at check-out. Indeed, just before leaving the room we received a call from the reception at 11:03 informing us in a dry and cold tone that we had to leave the room as soon as possible (check-out being at 11:00). We simply had the feeling of being a nuisance. The receptionist was afraid that we had left without paying .... When we arrived at the reception, we were not asked at all how our stay went. The only words from the receptionist were "hello, the room has not been paid, it's been so much with the taxes" (pay and leave). Once again, we had the feeling of being a nuisance and having to leave the premises as soon as possible. We are very disappointed by our experience at the Henri IV hotel."

"A very charming place - close to Saint Emilion. The rooms were large and spotlessly clean. Perfectly restored with respect for the original parts in these century old buildings. Only four rooms of course makes the experience even more personalized. The hostess was very friendly and service minded - and as an extra benefit having a kitchen and a spacious living/dining room at the disposal for the guests also opens for interesting meetings with new people over cooking or a meal. Every morning breakfast is served with fresh bread and homemade jams. What a nice way to start your day. Relaxing at the pool after a day of sightseeing was also a very welcome experience - just enjoying the peace and quiet. This place is highly recommended! Really unique - for those who appreciate something off the beaten tourist track."

"It's cozy, but the room facilities are so-so. You'll be outdoors most of the time anyway. Staying overnight in this small town isn't a problem; it's safe. The hotels my friends stayed at were all full."

"They are only two things away from perfection: They are missing a wine bar (a must in wine country) and they should keep at least one of their restaurants open every night rather than closing them both on Sundays and Mondays. And if I’m being picky maybe lower the prices on local wines which they sell at reasonable prices in their boutique at reception but charge triple for in their restaurants and by the pool. In their defense I’m seeing this fleecing around the world. Just a shame since at least local wines in wine country used to be reasonable. Now for the positive, the rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the modern amenities. Nespresso machine available upon request. Or just call reception for free Cappucino delivery in the morning. The reception is welcoming and accessible. The bistro restaurant with terrace over the pool and vineyards has a nice Italian French flare and serves excellent pasta by the pool or on the terrace. The gaspacho and faux filet are equally good. It doubles as a breakfast buffet in the morning which is also well stocked with good scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. They could cook the bacon a little more. The croissants and chocolatines are fresh and plentiful with a lovely selection of local jams. Maybe the fruit salad could have something other than melons. The yogurt and cereal selection is excellent as is the cakes and other local breads. And the juices are freshly squeezed. They should come check on guests at the pool so we don’t have to come up to the restaurant everytime we want something. And we wanted everything because it was a perfect oasis after visiting St-Emilion and local vineyards. We had lunch at the restaurant, lunch by the pool, dinner at their upscale gastronomical restaurant and cappuccinos via room service. The only thing we didn’t do, since they were closed two nights, was have dinner at the bistro terrace casual restaurant. All the food was excellent, especially the magret de canard and foie gras. The pork belly and lobster was also an interesting combination. The fondant de pistache dessert was to die for. The service and billing were excellent. The reception/concierge booked us at two nice casual spots in town when their restaurants were closed and also booked us a great tour of the Chateau Saint-George Vineyard within walking distance. We reserved e-bikes at 45€ per day pp but had to cancel due to inclement weather. We are looking forward to returning and biking to other vineyards and villages. Oh yeah they also had two complimentary fast or slow chargers for EVs that worked swimmingly."

"When I booked to be in the region, I knew what I was going to find at the Hotel l'Art Dit Vin. Located in front of the station of Saint Aigulin (less than 2000 inhabitants), I was wondering if I would find the old charm of these rural institutions that I had cottaged when I was a student. In the 1970s, when the SNCF revised its railway mail, many stations closed while others continued. But the hotels face to the stations had to renovate their faces. This is certainly the case of Art Dit Vin that was then fit in the 1970s. The travelers of then no longer stayed there. I really had the feeling of traveling in the time when we spent the night there. Most of these hotels have closed. The end of a world. The current owners have been able to negotiate the deadly turn of the rural exodus. This hotel resists globalization and its paradigms by developing a remarkable restaurant. This is why I have a clean and welcome rooms, despite the corridors with the sweet moquettes, but whatever it is, we come to a hotel of the last century to sleep there. But before you join your room, enjoy the restaurant which is, in my opinion, a pepite. Dine at "L'Art Dit Vin" and join your room. You will only remember the gastronomic break under the 100-year-old tileul of the garden. In summary, radiate in the region, book a room at a price of a rare quality price ratio and dine on site which you will keep the memory of a moment of great softness."

"This is a castle hotel surrounded by vineyards. It features an outdoor heated pool, spa, sauna, and a simple yet elegant restaurant. While a car (taxi) is necessary to get there from the nearest station, it's a hotel well worth the trip. Breakfast is simple but consistently good. The only downside was the minimal amenities in the guest rooms (there was no hair conditioner)."
