Sunshine Cabanas At Ocean View ★★

📍 Commerce Bight Road, Dangriga

"just a ten minute shuttle flight from Belize Airport then 20 minutes drive to Sunshine Cabanas. This is a fabulous place stay if you want to awaken to see the sunrise. Surrounded by nature with a beach a few yards away. With only three cabanas on the property you are likely to be the only person staying there. The cabanas are nicely decorated and well maintained. Though WiFi can be iffy, it doesn’t matter because who needs the outside world interference when you are staying on a small piece of paradise. If your idea of a getaway/ vacation is to recharge, rest and relax Oceanview Sunshine Cabanas is the place to go."

"Yet another terrific family scuba vacation in the Belizean Cays. The experience was everything we excepted and more. The food from Chef Luis and Chef Joe was terrific and both always accommodated our dining wishes. Fresh fruit and fruit juices each meal. Fresh daily caught seafood was common. Meals were made with locally sourced ingredients and Chef style was to add a nice flair to the Belizean cuisine. On occasion I asked for a simpler Belizean version of the meal, which was easily done. Bartender/waiter Freddie along with server Heidi were especially attentive and the best servers possible. All the island staff treated us like honored guests, and the whole seven-day experience felt like being among friends and family. Mrs. Rosella works hard on keeping the resort true to its origins as a family run Belizean resort. The focus is on maintaining the natural resources and the resort is now equipped for 100% solar generated power. The ocean front cabanas were peaceful. Rooms were well furnished, beds were comfortable, and housekeeping on top of things. Loved our hammock on the deck and the ocean views & breezes day and night, as the cabanas are literally just yards from the ocean. The island is small, so after watching the sunset and dinner be prepared for self-entertainment. There is “Charlies Bar” with its pool table and dart board, walking along the pier to see all the incredible night sea life, and relaxation in your cabana. I personally liked using the hammock, listening to the waves, and watching the moon rise up between the coconut trees. The scuba was simply amazing. This is our 3rd family scuba trip to dive the protected reefs in the South Water Caye Marine Reserve. We are a mixed dive experienced group and brought along my teenage son’s friend for his 1st certified open water dives. Every dive was exceptional with incredible corals, sponges, and small and large marine life. Eels, rays, turtles, sharks, lobsters, were in abundance. Huge schools of smaller or brilliantly colored fish were seen on several dives. The types of corrals and sponges are too long to list. The reef was in pristine condition and on almost all the dives we were the only dive boat within sight. Dive master Moses was especially attentive to all our diving needs. We were accompanied by a second master diver on all our dives who took the rear of the dive group while Moses took the lead. Our dives were between 55-60 minutes, including the safety stop each dive. The boat captain and 1st mate did a great job helping each diver with their equipment, and with the entry and exits from the boat. The dive crew along with Moses made each dive trip as easy as possible with equipment setup, loading, unloading, and breakdown for each dive. Essentially, they provided a concierge dive service. And as a nice touch, after each scuba trip, the kitchen served up dive snacks for the hungry group. When not doing scuba during the day, the kids went sea kayaking and snorke"

Thatch Caye Resort a Muy'Ono Resort ★★★

📍 North Road, Dangriga

"Our time at Thatch Caye Island Resort ️✨ From the moment we arrived, Shakera welcomed us with a drink in hand and a warm smile—setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable trip. Luis made sure we were settled and always had answers to every question, while Logan went above and beyond every single day with genuine kindness that made us feel so special. Junior kept the beach and center bar fun with any drink we could dream up, and Erwin impressed us daily with his craft cocktails (and his legendary shot-ski skills - not to mention his photography skills of those shot-ski moments). Jessica was always there with a smile at mealtime, and Jackson helped me pick out the perfect souvenir before giving us the send-off on our last day. The whole team even brought a cake out for my husband’s 50th birthday and all the guests also sang to him. Behind the scenes, the hardworking staff kept the island spotless and beautiful—every detail truly mattered. And a huge thank you to Darvin and Charlie, our incredible snorkel guides, whose knowledge and passion made the excursion unforgettable at the reef. We also had an amazing fly fishing experience with Kayvon from Blue Horizon—an incredible guide who shared so much insight about the islands and local waters. And we can’t forget Marley and Pico, the island pups who made it feel like home (we may or may not have kept their amazing life a secret from our own dogs). You could be lucky enough to have Marley follow you to your room one night. Thatch Caye has the perfect blend of rustic, back-to-nature charm with the comforts of a beautiful small resort. The food was delicious and fresh, the drinks were always flowing, and the staff felt more like old friends than anything else. Insider tip: listen for the 7:00 dinner song… your cue that something “yummy” is about to happen! Until next time, island life."

"Sattva Land was an incredible retreat for our family trip! The outdoor nature pool, fed by mountain water, was a highlight with its breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. As a vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free family, we were delighted by the delicious food options. The staff, especially Sam, were kind and made our stay memorable. The cabins were not only amazing but also beautifully designed. Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable experience."

Blue Marlin Beach Resort ★★★
"We spent 10 days in paradise at the Blue Marlin which is conveniently located on the Belize Barrier Reef. Having travelled extensively to many Caribbean Islands and stayed in 5-star resorts , this one really it the mark! So much so we have booked a return visit for this month. The Staff: The absolute BEST hospitality ever! Rosella and her team made us part of the resort family the minute we arrived. The Accommodation: We stayed in Cabin #17. Very comfortable 5-star bed, nice size, great privacy and no WiFi. It's really therapeutic a great way to decompress and if really need to connect, the restaurant has a high-speed connection. The Meals: Certainly without a doubt, the very best we've had in our travels including "5-star" restaurants. The only resort we've been to where the menu is limited to one or two choices but it works because the food is without exception, so good! The Snorkelling: The best in the Caribbean! The Barrier Reef is so beautiful and alive it is truly humbling and other-worldly. The staff knew exactly where to get the best experience, dodging the weather and ocean currents. They are professionals by every definition. If you're expecting a franchised resort experience, you won't find it here. What you will find is one-of-a-kind experience that is truly exceptional."

Thatch Caye Resort a Muy'Ono Resort ★★★
"Truly the experience of a lifetime. The family energy is felt immediately upon arrival. I never want to go on another trip anywhere but a Muy’Ono Resort. The staff never slowed down on making the grounds beautiful, and treated everyone like family. The island couldn’t be any more beautiful. Location was perfect for water lovers (15 mins to the barrier reef by boat). Marley and Pico were charming and made the island all the more special. We were lucky to have Marley join us for bed 3 of our nights there. Rooms were constantly tidied by the staff. Farm to table food and INSANELY good drinks. Everything was truly spot on. Exceeded our expectations. Extremely quiet. So many activities. Snorkel gear, paddle boards, kayaks, bikes & more included. Beach was stunning. Massages were top notch. Insane value for what you get on the island. We will be back. Easily our favorite faction ever! Thank you Jackson, Junior, Charles, Shakira, Marisha, Darvin, Charlie, Bonafilio, Noella, Jimena, Jessica, Oliver, and the entire grounds and cleaning staff! They made our Easter so special with an Easter egg hunt with prizes and it was just so much fun! Scuba diving and snorkeling on the reef was very convenient! Island hopping was a blast. Many other guest had a great time on the fishing excursions and caught tons of fish to share with everyone! This place is so so so special <3"
