The Xanadu Birkenhead

Amazing Stay with a very beautiful scenic view and the evening here is full of colourful clouds covering all over the hills. One of the best places I’ve ever been to . Definitely visit next time whenever I’m in Kodaikanal.

The stay was very comfortable. Hospitatlity by the Resort Staff was consistently peaking through out our stay. My septuagenarian Mother, my children and I had an amazing and heavenly experience. Food served were homely and the location of the property is abode of the nature. Memories of our stay is etched within us. Thank you Team Xanadu for providing this lovely experience.

Beautiful place beautiful location. Aparna is an amazing host and has one of the best properties in Kodaikanal and connor. I've been to both and both have been amazing. Little far off on top, not near the kodai lake, so travelling down to the lake is a little bit difficult if you don't have your own vehicle. The view is amazing and worth going to once if you want to go for the weekend and just relax. This air bnb is best for couples and even family. Home made food is provided by the in-house caretaker. They take care of your needs especially if you're Jain.

Xanadu Birkenhead is located adjacent to Xanadu Meghadootam, about 4 kms from Kodai Lake. The last couple of kilometres is really steep and requires expert manoeuvering. We had travelled by cab (referred by the Xanadu Team and the cab driver and vehicle were very good!), so we didn't face any difficulty. The booking process was extremely simple and transparent. Aparna (the co-founder of the amazing Xanadu properties in Kodai, Coonoor and Kodaikanal) was very prompt and patient in responding to my queries. On arrival we were greeted by the staff and luggage was in the rooms in no time. One has to climb a short flight of stairs to reach a long portico where one can spend hours gazing at the valley and breathing in fresh air. The tag line of Xanadu "Check in Breathe out" is just apt! We booked both the rooms at Birkenhead, which meant that we had the entire bungalow to ourselves. The bungalow is tastefully done though there are some bits that require attention. Food was simple home cooked fare that one needs to order a few hours in advance. The food was always freshly prepared and was tasty. Nothing like having piping hot food in that cold weather! The staff are practically available on the property throughout and they took good care of us. Special note of thanks to Raja and Stephen. Though the other bungalow Meghadootam is located next door to Birkenhead, each bungalow has their own distinct charm, separate entrances and open spaces. There are few other bungalows in the neighborhood (not of Xanadu) but there was hardly any disturbance from the guests staying there. There is a small activity room (accessible to guests of Birkenhead and Meghadootam) which has a TT table and few books. We felt that this room could have been better maintained. We carried our own TT bats and balls and enjoyed playing. We were frequently visited by 2 friendly and naughty dogs which kept coming over to give us company. It was a joy petting them and watching them play!! We look forward to visiting Xanadu Coonoor next!
