"Very good location for hikes. The bed is so-so, but the bathroom is very clean and there is warm water. Unfortunately, the restaurant in the hotel does not serve good food and the service there is also bad. Nevertheless, the room is clean and inexpensive and ideal as a starting point for hikes to Soller or Pollenca."

"Our favourite place to stay in Mallorca. It has a peaceful setting in the foothills of the Tramuntana with gorgeous views from the pool and room terraces. "We own a property in Puerto Pollensa and have been coming to the area for the past forty years. We had heard about Monnaber Nou restaurant but had never visited it. Until today. It was a special wedding anniversary so I had booked dinner. We arrived. Beautiful setting. No welcome but a sign directing us to the restaurant. On arrival no one to show us to the table; we asked and were told we could choose our own. Great. The menu was interesting but not outstanding. The prices were ok. However, it became clear that the suckling pig (that I had) and the roast shoulder of lamb (that my wife ordered) were not cooked fresh but were heated ‘portions’. How do I know? Because my wife’s lamb was dry, stringy and, frankly, inedible. I called the waiter and pointed this out. He apologised and took it away saying the chef ‘would cook another one’. He did not offer to take my lechona and keep it warm. So I had to eat while my wife watched. My wife’s new portion of lamb arrived as I was finishing my pork, so I had to watch while she ate. When it came to payment time I asked to talk to the manager and explained that when I come to a good restaurant I expect to have a shared dining experience which means eating my main course at the same time as my wife; and I expect the dishes to be perfectly prepared. In light of our very disappointing experience I suggested that we should not be asked to pay full price. Rather than offer sympathy and few euros discount the manager asked whether we had each, in the end, eaten a main course. I said we had. He said that therefore we must pay full price. I said that what we had experienced was not good and I expected better if I was paying full price. He stood his ground and said that he could not give any discount because it would come out of his pay. Impasse. Needless to say, we shall not return."

"We have had 7 wonderful days at this cozy hotel. The staff is really helpful and serviceminded. The hotel is very quiet and relaxed. It has a nice little pool with a beautiful view. My Husband and I spent the morning with biketours and the afternoon at the pool. Selva is a small town with good restaurant. If you like to shop Selva is not the right place :) We will absolutely come back to Can Cota"
