"We stayed for one night en route from the South to the North. It was extremely convenient and very quiet, despite being busy. The heatwave was on so we had to open the window, and although the fan was completely ineffective, it did create a white noise which blocked out the traffic on the A1. It was handy to have a Starbucks on site, and there’s a diner across the road, although we didn’t go there. So there were some plusses. However, whilst many Travelodges have received a classy refurb in recent years, I don’t think this one has been touched since the 90s. It felt really tired and neglected. The cleaners had done their best, but the wear and tear was really bad, and much of the filth was ingrained. The bathroom especially was quite shameful, very dank, stinky and mouldy, with a rusty bin, manky grouting and a blackened shower curtain. It was pretty gross. It was a bargain, so I suppose you get what you pay for, but it didn’t live up to normal Travelodge standards."

"If I'm honest this hotel was not great value for money. The room was small, not very clean, bed was uncomfortable and smelt musty (I know they make a big thing about being a hotel/inn since 1203 - but I don't want the smell from that era as well). I have stayed here previously and it was much better (or at least the room I was in was better). So I will not being staying here in the future"

"Beside the A1 this travellodge is so quiet and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and helpful. And a real plus, its one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in!"

"Great hotel excellent value.. The staff provided an excellent service. Rooms are spacious with plenty of storage and clothes hangers. Also provided with a hair dyer, iron, iron board, kettle tea and coffee making facilities.The bed is huge and very comfortable with good quality bed linen. Nice very clean bathroom, freshly laundered excellent quality towels, large walk in shower cubicle with a very good shower. They do not provide breakfast but you are a 10 minute walk to brewers fayre who provide breakfast. Will definitely recommend this hotel and will use it again in the future."

"All good, welcoming and clean room. Enuite 'room' was a prefabricated construction, very small to get 'into' but clean."

"My visit was brief but delightful. The check-in process was welcoming and quick. The staff member at reception was friendly and within moments, I was heading to my room. The massive bed was comfortable, clean and spotless (and I always check it thoroughly before going to sleep, I love smell of fresh linens). Complementary tee, coffe and biscuits were also available not mentioning clean towels and good quality toiletries. Everything was perfect."

"Not happy as I stayed at the hotel twice Jus so I can use the spa but first time I over slept and 2nd time was told that because we are checking out today and only have 20m left till checkout we cant use the spa Not happy at all the person in the spa was not nice at all stayed there on Sunday 20th July till Monday 21st July 2025 and the previous Sunday to Monday 🙁"

"I Just wanted to give a shout out to Karen on the front desk she was very helpful. They also put out ice and water for all of us weary travellers. The staff in the brewers fare were also friendly and helpful. The hotel was as you would expect from a premier Inn clean and tidy. Great work for folks"
