Hôtel Restaurant du Château ★★★

"Great little hotel. Friendly and warm welcome. Easy to find, good parking. Great location for exploring the town. Wonderful view of the castle across the canal. breakfast was also good. Good value for money. One minor disappointment - the bathroom could do with some TLC!"

Hôtel le Cobh
9.1 (15 reviews)

Hôtel le Cobh ★★★

📍 10 Rue des Forges, Ploermel

"We had a huge room with separate bedroom. The super king bed was very comfortable and the linen was of good quality. There was also a second room with twin beds. All of the furnishings and carpets appeared new and of a high standard. The room overlooked a quiet courtyard with views of an Abbey. The electric shutters were welcome for keeping out the early morning sun. The owner/chef presented innovative and tasty meals and breakfast was good value. The hotel is easily accessible and close to many restaurants and bars. The town centre has undergone a renovation and it was great to explore the old town. The large lake at the edge of the town has boating, fishing and a wide 14 km long foot/cycle path. This is a great place to stay and explore the wider area. All of the staff speak English if required."

Anne de Bretagne

Anne de Bretagne ★★

📍 42 Rue Olivier de Clisson, Vannes

"Very clean hotel with extremely kind staff. I travel a lot and in European countries I have never seen the staff taking care of you like helping with your suitcases unless you stay at a 5-star hotel (and still not all of 5-stars do). Breakfast has a variety of exquisite teas to choose from including a local producer’s. Everything is homemade with local specialties. Freshly squeezed orange juice and local apple juice are present along with homemade jams. Buckwheat (which is a staple in Bretagne) honey was interestingly delicious. Croissants and pains au chocolat are delicious and flaky. Location is convenient. I will recommend to everyone."

Hôtel Restaurant du Château ★★★
"Hotel du Chateau is an unpretentious, quaint, typically French hotel. I booked s family suite purely to have plenty of space and the room gave that. It overlooked the Chateau which is beautiful lit up at night. There is a small bar at the hotel and if the weather is good, outside seating to watch the world go by. Parking is secure and opposite the hotel and free of charge for hotel guests. The room had a basic bathroom with a shower over the bath but it was fine. The bed was comfortable and for the price, we thought it great value. We ate in the restaurant, the weather making the Terrace out of action but we had a lovely table overlooking the Chateau in the restaurant itself. Having read reviews, I was expecting the food to be better but the steak was tasty as was the onion tart as a starter. Wine is very reasonably priced. Josselin itself is delightful and we really enjoyed a stroll around the characterful streets and had a very tasty Galette in a little hole in the wall Creperie. We both felt that Hotel du Château offered a genuine, French experience in a delightful town and that it was a good choice for a no frills visit. We would return!"

Brit Hotel Les Voyageurs ★★★
"We stayed 2 nights with a dog. Well clean, welcome staff but there are things that miss. Beware, they took a guaranteed deposit of €100. 4 days after paying out in balance and left I have not yet my refund. I do not recommend booking for their swimming pool / relaxation space. Hyper cheap, even for residents. € 25 in 30 minutes or € 40 per hour! No surprise that it was empty! Finally, good step hotel but there are concerns ..."

Terres de France - le Domaine du Moulin Neuf ★★★
"Excellent and peaceful stay at the Domaine du Moulin Neuf in Rochefort-en-Terre. The surroundings are lovely for walks, ideal if you have a dog. A very warm welcome. The site is pedestrianized, so no cars are allowed. Our accommodation (for 4 people) was very well-equipped and comfortable, with a kitchen including a fridge/freezer, induction hob, dishwasher, and microwave. There was also a decent-sized TV. A private enclosed terrace completes the accommodation. Nearby is the Moulin Neuf Aventure park, which offers treetop adventure courses, pedal boats, canoes, pedal cars, a picnic area, an escape room, and a restaurant/restaurant."

Manoir Desnachez ★★★
"Very characterful property in a quiet rural setting, we stayed in the room called Mordred which was nicely furnished, had an excellent modern shower and a very comfortable large bed, the remoteness meant that there was absolute peace and quiet and total blackout for an excellent sleep. We elected for an evening meal which was very pleasant but not remarkable. Our French is very basic, (our fault entirely) so communication is not simple but we got by with both the owners and the other guests. Breakfast was pleasant but again not remarkable which we have experienced at other similar properties. We would certainly recommend it to friends who wished to experience some rural French hospitality."
