Haikou Hotels with Gym

he Hilton Haikou is a very well located hotel and probably one of the best in Haikou. On arrival there was a heavy rainfall which caused me to get quite wet walking from the taxi to the hotel entrance. I booked the room online via trip for me and my travel companion with the payment in hotel option. Online-Prepayment was not possible. On check in, given that I was very wet because of the rainshower I was quite unsatisfied with the service. First there was apparently some issue, wether I or my companion booked the room because the order of names on the booking showed my name in second place. Also my companion wasnt with me at that time because of a one day delay. In my opinion it shouldnt be a matter who booked the room since both of our names were given, regardless of the order. This issue took some extra time which is very inconvenient if you are dripping wet and just want to rest. Secondly when it comes to payment instead of the 1959 RMB, 2000 RMB were deducted from my WeChat account without any communication about the deviation. I also only realized it later when I already arrived the room and was very confused what the 41 RMB were for. Like I said it has not been communicated to me at all. Maybe a tip or was it meant as a deposit? (Even though it would appear to be a very odd deposit amount and tipping in China is not a thing) I guess from a 5 Star Hilton I could expect accuracy and clear communication when it comes to payment. Which brings me to another downside. Even though my Mandarin is sufficient enough, I was very surprised that at a Hilton of this price category none of the staff at check in nor other employees were able to speak English. So for foreigners who dont speak Chinese this would be a bit difficult. The next day I went down to reception again to ask about the 41 RMB and was offered a refund, yet the reason why it has been deducted in the first place still remains unknown to me. Another small issue appeared at breakfast when I asked one of the waitresses where the tea/ teabags is/are located. I formulated my request precisely in Chinese and the lady was just behaving awkward and walked away. I thought maybe still something would happen, but 10 minutes later still nothing. Luckily I was able to find the overseeing waitress, asked her the same question and found out that the Teabags are not openly presented at the buffet (Which is an unexpected inconvenience for a 5-Star hotel yet again, + the tea choices are very limited) My last complaint is the minibar. I have been at budget hotels before, which offered a free minibar which is refilled every day. Why are there so many things in this Hotel with a hefty price tag. This appears not welcoming given the cost of this Hotel. Especially the price-tag of minibar drinks is outrageous. For example 0.33L Tsingtao Beer 28 RMB…. Speechless. In every shop around you get 0.5L for less than half the price. Now that all my complaints about the service have been mentioned, lets move on to the many upsides of the Hilton: -Great location and rooms -Very good breakfast buffet with many choices -Even better dinner buffet (298RMB/Person) -Great panorama view -luxurious -Some of the staff still did a great job, which is why I still give a 3/5 rating, regardless of previous issues.

Came here with friends for CNY. The hotel itself was nice and clean and the room was really spacious. The bathtub really sold this room for me. Simply amazing. The beach is right across the street which can be a big plus but unfortunately, the weather was not the best so I didn't visit at all. The downside of this location is its a bit away from bars and restaurants nothing is walking distance. The staff was really nice and two people were able to assist in English. I forgot the names but they were super helpful.

Amazing hotel ! ❤️ excellent service , wonderful people, beautiful territory with volcanic hot springs and swimming pools. Thank you Beth , a young lady on the reception for helping us to handle all issues and requests during our stay. We also discovered a nice souvenir on the table , what a lovely touch for a good memory. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friend and family members, in love. My mom loves it so much too, thank you.

It’s a great hotel at a very good price. You would pay about three times in Europe for this convenience. The buffet restaurant has very good selection of sushi and fish and meats, and the beer is included. The Chinese restaurant is also pretty good at a reasonable price. If you need a few things for shopping, just go across the street near the Holiday Inn.

On the positive side: The hotel itself is quite great, playground and pools were appealing, several good activities for kids, restaurant and breakfast were also very good and staff very friendly (especially in restaurant) In the negative side: the location is not good, at least 8-10km from everything. No any restaurant or activities nearby, need to take a taxi for everything with at least 40min to 1h drive. One of the restaurant (noodle one) closed quite early so dinner in hotel was limited to 2 restaurants. In addition, because of weather (wind and a bit cold) beach was not suitable for us to stay and pools were closed. Good hotel for company events or short family stay (max 2 days) but not for prolonged family vacation (week)

Great stay! Location is away from the crowds which we wanted. Was nice and quiet. Big swimming pools. One is mostly shaded which all the kids go to. The other is mostly sunny and hardly ever any people at all times of day!!! Hotel room was really great. Beds and pillows super comfortable. Breakfast is amazing with a million choices. We did the all you can eat buffet one night at the Island Bistro which was great, especially if you like seafood. Didi is super fast and accessible at the hotel. Highly recommended if you want quiet and away from the crowds but still want to go into town and see the sites! Hotel is about a 20 minute didi into the old city.

I came to this hotel during the summer of 2022, and they were working on the beach, but we still had access to it. I wanted to return because it was a very relaxing experience. I returned for the 2023 Spring Festival, and it was even better because the beach had been renovated. This trip was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would return to Haikou Shangri-La because the staff and other guests were friendly and helpful.

The only reason why we booked this hotel is because we had a very earlier flight, and the hotel is directly reachable via Meilan Railway station. The hotel is also near a “shopping mall” to do last minute souvenir shopping, and there’s like a food court nearby. So location is 5 stars! At one glance the room looks spacious and okay, but there’s a cockroach looking creature flying out suddenly and when underneath the bed frame, and the toilet seats and the shower floor looks a little stained. I think the room light is a little dull even when all the spot lights are switch on hence not really giving a bright and clean impression. Nonetheless the super huge bed looks clean and white! Personally felt that service was not up to standard of what one would expect from a 4 diamond hotel. Checked in around 6pm and there were 4 staffs standing at the counter but only 1 attended to the 3 guests queuing to check in (maybe it’s not their job to do check in?). Later the night wanted to ask about the bus shuttle service timing and the guy standing at the information counter just replied in a frustrated tone - “look at this timetable”. As it is our first time here we don’t know where is the pickup point and we asked where is the pickup point to which he just reply “this level”. We had to look around and point to the nearest entry and reconfirm is it there. So service aspect could have been friendlier. Amenities wise it’s pretty standard. Toiletries were great. 4 bottles of waters provided. 2 pairs of slip ons and 2 pairs of rubber slippers. Oh not sure what’s wrong with the aircon, set 23 degree yet it’s still making us sweat in the night. Usually I would feel freezing cold in this temperature. All in all, an ok experience to have somewhere to stay to catch an early flight.

Check in by Jacky (hopefully name is correct), was smooth and he was attentive offering us to book restaurant for our dinner. That's was a nice warm welcome. The breakfast was great many options from western to Chinese served in buffet and open kitchen. The service from the restaurant staff can be better, however its enough for some one like us that not looking to have top top service. The staff are working very hard from kitchen, restaurant service, housekeeping and i believed the back of the house that trying very hard to keep the maintenance and cleanliness. Please have some signage or reminder to the guest do not waste the foods at restaurants. I truly understand is hard to communicate to our guest do not waste the foods. Many of the guest waste the foods at breakfast and dinner buffet restaurants. Once again thank you for the management and th team of Hualux Hotel! keep it up and all the best.. I stayed in 7 hotels all the way from Sanya. Pullman gave me a very high cost-effective feeling! I stayed in three hotels in Haikou. Pullman had the best overall feeling. I was a little worried about the hygiene and odor after reading the reviews, but I found that dining and traveling were very convenient. Secondly, the lobby was very transparent, the guest rooms were very clean, the facilities in the room were well maintained, and there was no odor or humidity, and the balcony had a wide view. I felt really lucky to live in a room with the same number as my birthday. I don’t know if it was arranged by the front desk, it was really thoughtful! ! I felt very happy! The guys who took the luggage and opened the door for the guests at the concierge were very polite and patient. Joan at the front desk was very talkative and attentive, Allen was very polite, and Shirley was very cute! ! When I checked in, I had already introduced the items included in the room price and whether they were needed. When I checked out, I was also sent all the way to the car! The big sister in the housekeeping depar**ent was also very nice. She brought me a pillow and mineral water that night. I forgot to ask her name. The service staff I met when I took the elevator out were also very nice. They would help press the elevator and greet me politely. We went to breakfast late and only bought one breakfast. We originally planned not to eat breakfast and wanted to sleep in, but we still tried it. It was similar to the breakfast at Marriott. Overall, there were some minor complaints and we have already suggested them to the staff on duty, but overall there were no major problems. Curry potato chicken nuggets and tempura saury or capelin were delicious! The hotel is not far from the old street and is also very convenient to the airport. I was very satisfied with this trip overall. If I come to Haikou again next time, I will definitely book Pullman. Whether it is the location, price, service or facilities, I personally think they are indeed remarkable and I will come again.
