"We selected the hotel for its location, just a short walk to the Piece Hall (where we were attending a gig). The hotel is relatively new, the room was large and bright, and the bed was comfortable. Parking is a short walk away in a multi-storey, and although there was no discounted rate it was. Reasonable price for 24 hours."

"We had a wonderful couple of nights here in a two floor duplex suite. The room was ideal for our needs so our toddler could sleep upstairs on an evening whilst we were downstairs. Lots of amenities in the room including tv with apps, bath robes, rain shower, wonderful selection of coffee pods and biscuits. Nice and quiet. The bed was very soft, you just sank into it. Couple of overly lumpy pillows that need replacing. The service at the bar and restaurant was excellent, very friendly attentive staff. Would just note I ordered the chicken and bacon club sandwich one evening and felt the bacon may have been from breakfast, it was rock solid. The menu is very eclectic with a variety of choice. Only comment on the room would be attention to detail on cleanliness. The main parts of the bathroom / bedroom were very clean and the main surfaces but less obvious places like the skirting boards were particularly dusty and around the plug sockets / towel rail. Overall a wonderful stay and we would definitely visit again."

"Booked this after seeing the upgraded room photos. We booked 2 rooms for 4 of us. The actual rooms were not upgraded. Room was large good size bathroom. Dated. Lots of damaged tiles in bathroom. 2 different Bath taps. Long black hairs on the door and in the bath. 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel isn't enough. Old big mugs for tea making and no glass for water. Heating not working properly so oil filled radiator to plug in. The big concern was the number of single men that appeared to be staying there sat outside on the step smoking. There is no bar. No breakfast no restaurant. As others have said you have to hand your key in when you go out. They said it is so they know who is in but seemed a bit odd. It appears that rooms are being used for housing association clients as suggested in another review. This is a shame as the hotel has such potential."
