My favourite place to stay in Hong Kong. The rooms are clean, modern, and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and organised, and the hostel has a kitchen, a communal area with outdoor seating, and a laundry room (washing and drying cost around 60 HKD at the time). Food places and shops are right around the corner, and public transport to the city centre or other parts of HK is close by. Fun fact: the building was originally one of the first public housing projects in Hong Kong, built in the 1950s, and it was also awarded with Honourable Mention by UNESCO in 2015. There’s even a museum dedicated to its history right across from the hostel entrance.

The location is very good. When you walk out of the entrance on the first floor, you are directly opposite the MTR Zuo Dun Station (but there is no elevator at this entrance). There is a supermarket or a newsstand downstairs. It is super convenient. It is only one stop away from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR. , it is very close to the pier and Kowloon Park. We always walked and went shopping. It is also very close to Temple Street. The functions nearby are very good and convenient. The youth hostel is located on the 12th to 13th floors of Huafeng Building. The 13th floor is the service counter and some rooms. Our room is on the 12th floor. You need an access card to enter and exit. You also need an access card to enter the room. After entering, you need to insert the access card to turn on the power. Enter the card slot on the wall and all electrical appliances will be activated. This time I happened to encounter that the elevators of Huafeng Building were under maintenance. Three of the four elevators (two on the high floor and two on the low floor) were under maintenance. Only one elevator on the high floor was left for use, so it was necessary during peak hours. There is a queue, and the elevator can only carry seven people at a time. If the elevator is overweight, it will scream immediately, and you need to wait for the next one. Wah Fung Building is a very traditional Hong Kong building, which is very popular for filming movies. There are various buildings in this building. There are all kinds of units, whether they are various medical institutions, various companies, or hotels and restaurants. Our room is a family room with twin beds, which is somewhat similar to the twin beds in Japan, so the two big It's barely enough for two children, but it might feel more crowded if it's four adults. There's a large space under the bed to put suitcases, otherwise the aisle can only open a large suitcase, otherwise there's no space to move it around. Our room was right next to the window on the outside of the building, but it felt like everyone's separate air-conditioning units were installed outside our window. The air-conditioning unit was really noisy on the first night. Even our whole family, who are very good sleepers, actually slept until midnight. When I was woken up, I wanted to change rooms the next day. So if you are a light sleeper, I really don’t recommend it. There is a TV in the room, and the bathroom is also very mini, with towels and bath towels included. We stayed for three nights and were asked if we needed to be cleaned every day. We said no, and they only provided garbage. Bag, told us that we can pack the garbage and put it at the door when we go out every day, and there is a shared small refrigerator outside the door. There is a bus directly to the airport downstairs. We took the bus to the airport back and forth, which was very convenient. If we take the MTR, we need to transfer to the Airport MRT. So the direct bus to the airport is super convenient. And the service staff are super nice and polite. It’s a pretty good place to stay.

Excellent location in that it is near alot of shops and restaurants. I liked how it has a place where guests can sit down and tables to do things. I like how it has a kitchen where guests can cook their own food and has filtered water where guests can fill their own bottles. Hotel was very fair about things that you can and cannot do. Room was very spacious considering how limited and small Hong Kong is.
I was in room 1003 on the 10th floor. The only bad thing that I had to deal with at this place was this long term stay guests that was probably around his late 50's and early 60's that was behaving irrationally towards me when I was taking a shower by knocking on the door and using swear words saying I was taking too long when I just got in there and started. I only had to wash my hair and face which wasn't too long. It's not like he had to use the shower next after me and it's not his frekkin place. He must be dealing with a lot of personnel problems that's probably driving him nuts and causing him to become crazy and irrational like this. I know he's dealing with health problems because I overheard him talking to one of the workers when I was doing my own thing on my bed and he was talking about some operation he had to go through. I believe his religion was Catholic. Must be stressful for him having to deal with the high cost of living in Hong Kong.

The room was clean, but the smell of sewage? The toilet smelled very bad. I told the hotel and they cleaned it, but it smelled again the next day. The beds are clean, the room is quite small. I complained because the people in the room next to mine were partying until 8am and their voices were too loud. May not be recommended for nervous people. Accessibility is excellent.

Excellent
ZZi JingI was in HK for the first time and split my stay into 2 nights in Kowloon, 1 night in Macau, and then 3 nights on HK island. Honestly, this hotel impressed me the most.
Let’s get the bad points out of the way first. This hotel is a small hotel on a building that leases their floors/units/spaces to other businesses, including this hotel and other hotels within the building. There are 3 elevators, 2 of them for passengers, whereby one serves odd numbered floors and the other serves even number floors. The last elevator is for freight when required that serves all floors. This means that sometimes you have to wait an absolutely long time to get back to your room. However, I also visited Chungking Mansion (another similar hotel building), and there it was so much worse so it’s not too bad here.
Now to the good points, and there are a lot. The hotel room was actually kind of spacious. It’s not huge, but the area was a square, so you have more than enough room to open a suitcase or do a home workout (I did). The toilet was also spacious. There’s a space for showering, a toilet, and a sink, and you wouldn’t feel like you are squeezed for space.
The location of this hotel is also a huge boon. It’s literally the building just beside the metro exit so it is super convenient. You are also on TST MTR station, which means it is super convenient to go anywhere, including crossing to HK island either by MTR or ferry. There is a freaking good Michelin featured shengjian bao shop just downstairs of the hotel, and it was so delicious I ate there so many times I didn’t even have time to try the other delicious looking cafes and restaurants.
Service was also pretty good. It’s a pretty mainland China styled hotel. Communication is done through WeChat, with a very friendly and helpful staff who answers promptly. Bed was also very comfortable honestly.
For this price, I wish I only stayed at this hotel my entire trip.

LleotenGood hotel. The room obviously small, but for Hong Kong it’s normal. Room has all that I needed, like sneakers, few clothes racks, adapter for my charger, kettle, water, hair dryer and toothbrush with toothpaste. Room was clean, maybe not perfect in some places, but overall it was good. Noise insulation is not very good, but for me it wasn’t a problem. It was a bit cold in room, when weather was below 15 degrees. On the other side, when I stay shower always had hot water.
I’m glad to stay in this hotel, I hadn’t problems at all. It is advisable to have WeChat because when checking in and out I just wrote about it via WeChat, maybe it would have been a problem if I didn't have it.

Very Good
MMarcelo Alexis Norambuena SepulvedaThe hostel stands out for its extraordinary location in Mong Kok, Argyle Street, which quickly connects you to any point in the special territory of Hong Kong. The staff is attentive and maintains a friendly manner at all times, also highlighting the security of the place. Now, regarding the facilities, I can say that they are kept clean and have just the right amount for a traveler looking to save money. The hostel shares the same level as other hotels with similar characteristics. The building is old and somewhat neglected, next to impressive glass and neon towers, something typical to find in HK. It may give a more demanding traveler a bad impression, but it is something very common to find in HK for the prices we are talking about. Finding something nicer will cost you 3 times more, it is HK and space is a valuable resource that can be traded on the rise. The rooms are located in adapted apartments that allow for multiple rooms inside, which are very small and without windows. They have air conditioning and a fan, which helps to temper the temperature compared to the outside. The bathroom is shared with access to soap, shampoo and towels, and there is a shower that wets the entire bathroom (there is no separate shower from the toilet, something that is common in HK due to the exorbitant cost of square meters built). As a final assessment, I found it to be a good place for the price, safe and with staff always available. I recommend it to anyone who wants to save money on their stay in this magnificent city.

GGuest UserI want to try and be balanced. I hate to give this place too much hate. I feel like they’re doing the best they can with the cards they’ve been dealt and the price reflects that. This being my first time to Hong Kong, I was not aware of what to expect price wise.
That said, I want people to who read this to have more reasonable expectations than what the 4-5 star ratings want you to have.
Location. I suppose it’s in a good location of the city but it’s in an apartment above a market like setup. As i walked into the building i was immediately pounced upon by individual after individual who seemed to be trying to rent me their own rooms. I had to just ignore them and keep walking. I don’t like being rude, but I’ve found this is the easiest way to escape. I never feel safe in situations like this especially late at night.
The room was small and generally clean. I’ve left hotels in the past that were just horrid, this isn’t one of those. The mattress was comfortable but the bed was short. I feel the pillows and blankets were “clean “. But they were clean to the standards that I wash my own bedding. They were very white, but with some obvious stains that haven’t quite washed out, and one pillow appeared to have something like a blood stain visible through the pillow case. You will want to bring some sort of sleeping bag or liner. I was happy i had one.
The bathroom had no toiletries. No soap, shampoo, bidet/paper. The toilet bowl was black inside and immediately began to smell of sewer gas as i was urinating. It leaked when i flushed it. Gave me quite a start. The stench stayed around for 10-20 minutes or so. After that i didn’t want to do anything else in the bathroom. I used a bottle of water to brush my teeth.
I don’t know. If you’re looking at the outside of the building during the day, it’s what you’d expect. If you’re familiar with the cost of living in Hong Kong, it’s probably also what you’d expect at this price. If you just want a relatively clean place to sleep, and don’t want to spend a lot for hotels that reviewers say have the same issues, this will work. Just make sure you have your sleeping bag liner.
For this price, I’d probably stay there again if they fixed the plumbing.

YYananThe staff were nice and welcoming.
The hostel is inside of a typical Hongkong residential building, high and thin, like in the movies.
Well located: next to subway station, bus, Cantoneses restaurants and very close to the bay.
I’d been afraid of about the property and the security. The security camera was everywhere. No problem with luggage.
We shared the shower rooms and WC with others.
All was tiny, but it was an amazing experience.
The itinerary is well documented by short movie.
One more point about the ecology: they don’t have disposable toothbrush.
