The room was small but cozy, and the location was super convenient. The breakfast was delicious! A special shout-out to Ulysse and the gentleman in the floral shirt at the front desk. They helped me print my exam admission ticket, changed my room, and even helped me find the bus stop. I had a wonderful stay!

The hotel's location is great, right near a subway station, and it's an easy 10-15 minute walk to Grand Place. The surrounding area felt safe, and there's a shopping mall nearby. We booked a family room for three. We dropped off our luggage first, and by the time we checked in, they had already set up the sofa bed for us. Although, according to my friend, the extended sofa bed wasn't very comfortable to sleep on. They also prepared amenities for three people. Overall, everything was good, except for an uneven transition between the bathroom and the room, which made it very easy to trip. The soundproofing was excellent; we didn't hear any footsteps or other noises. Each floor of the hotel has a dedicated water dispenser where you can get still water, sparkling water, and warm water.

The hotel has perfect location! It is just several minutes to Grand Palace. Superior double room was quite spacious, clean, and well equipped. The only downsize is that the walls might be too thin and noise of neighbors might come if they’re loud. Breakfast was absolutely stanning and definitely worth 12 EUR compared to cafes in Brussels where you can hardly get breakfast for that price. To sum up, the hopel is perfect option for the price you’re paying.

The Standard Hotel in Brussels is located in the Northern Quarter, an area characterized by government buildings, offices, and a large number of 60s and 70s office blocks, making it sparsely populated. The hotel cleverly utilizes this somewhat cold, stark modernist urban backdrop by injecting color, warmth, abundant greenery, and local Brussels creative culture. The interiors were designed by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois. He masterfully blends design languages from different periods of the 20th century: from Art Deco, American and Belgian modernism, to postmodernism and the 80s. Warm wood finishes, 1930s-style carpets, and circular and arched structures are interspersed throughout, creating a retro yet timelessly chic look. The hotel also showcases numerous works by local Belgian artists. The most prominent piece at the entrance is Jan Janssens' ceramic sculpture, 'The Dance.' Jan often explores the human position within urban systems through figures and giant city architecture. 🙋🏾♀️One pro: It's absolutely beautiful! 😌One con: It's in a business district, so there aren't many restaurants or supermarkets nearby, which can be a bit inconvenient at night.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the hotel has a great location—just a 5-minute walk from the train station. Getting to the city center is very convenient, and there are metro stations nearby as well. However, after checking in on the first day, I noticed the bathroom wasn't cleaned very thoroughly: the trash bag hadn't been changed, and there was a long hair on the toilet seat. We contacted the front desk and they resolved the issue.

The hotel is very beautiful, not the best experience however. The attitude of the front desk staff, especially the female manager, was not accommodating. I expected friendlier and more respectful attention from a hotel of this caliber. Both the morning and evening receptionists were quite intransigent. The room I booked was not what I requested, apparently due to availability issues. I had to ask them to push the twin beds together to make one, which took a while to accomplish. They only followed this request because my booking agency intervened and spoke to management; otherwise, it would have been impossible. The next day, I requested a late checkout but was told ”no.” The woman at the front desk argued that it was the busy weekend and tha my reasons were insufficient, claiming that since they had already fixed my room the day before (or that I could have just slept on the original setup), they wouldn't bend the rules. This dismissive narrative made my stay even more unpleasant! You urgently need to train your personnel to improve their customer service skills.

The location is super convenient, right in the city center, with a Carrefour downstairs and a large square just steps away. The room is quite spacious for European standards, a one-bedroom apartment, very roomy, and it has air conditioning, which is crucial for summer in Europe. Some reviews mentioned it was noisy, but we found it to be fine; it was completely quiet at night. The minibar was well-stocked, even with alcohol, and everything was complimentary, which was a definite plus!

The hotel is very nice and modern. The staffs are helpful and friendly. The room is spacious and clean. The only problem is the location. It is not located in the touristy area. There is no easy public transportation to the grand place except by bus or taxi/uber. Walking to grand place takes around 30 mins passing through Brussels Park and Royal Palace. The positive point is that the area where the hotel is located is very quiet.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right near Brussels' Grand Place – literally a two-minute walk away. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby, making it super convenient. The room itself was surprisingly spacious, which is a rare find in Europe, and the facilities were great. Having a kettle was a huge plus for us. We stayed for two nights, and the steak restaurant directly across from the hotel entrance was amazing – delicious and not expensive, so it was incredibly convenient to grab a meal right outside. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and I highly recommend it!

Traveling solo, I wanted a well-located and affordable place. Hotels in Brussels generally aren't cheap. This one is a 10-minute walk from the North Station. Avoid the Google Maps recommended park path if you have luggage, it's not very easy to navigate. It's right next to a police station, has a large supermarket behind it, and across the street, there's a restaurant with great, affordable burgers. No AC, but it wasn't hot and there's a fan. I stayed here both coming and going. The train station has a metro that connects you easily to anywhere in the city. Check-in requires scanning a QR code, which wasn't difficult. This area is considered relatively safe, and there are buses nearby that go to various tourist destinations, which is very convenient.
