"I'm definitely coming back. It's the best. The surrounding commercial area has declined a bit, but it's close to the station, very quiet, and only locals are there. The Japanese people are super friendly. The cleaning is perfect, and the breakfast is delicious. My friend and I were so busy devouring breakfast that we didn't have time to think about it. It was a happy morning. The view is great, and ice water, tea, and coffee are all free. Manga books are free, and using the washing machine is also free. The hot spring is small but nice. There is a wide variety of shampoos and conditioners to choose from, and there are various types of hair dryers, including Dyson ones. In particular, there are two massage chairs, and they are amazing. I want to take the massage chairs with me when I go back to Korea. I love you, Green Morris. Next time, I'll come with my husband, whom I left at home!"

Excellent location on the banks of the Maruyama River, delicious cuisine, communal baths within walking distance

"The location and views are superb, and the staff provide top-notch service. The breakfast buffet offers excellent quality food, and the hot springs are clean and feature a semi-open-air bath. Overall, this Japanese-style hotel offers extremely high value for money. They even include a hot spring hopping pass for the surrounding public baths, have a wide selection of beautiful kimonos to choose from, and proactively offer shuttle service to and from the JR station. The room views are simply unbeatable. There are countless advantages, I highly recommend it!"

"1. The location is incredibly convenient for walking in any direction. 2. The service was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. From check-in in the lobby to entering the room, every detail was meticulously explained. They even gave a brief overview of each corner of the room and arranged our breakfast and dinner times, ensuring our meals were prepared. 3. We stayed for two nights, and to our surprise, both breakfast and dinner meals featured completely different ingredients each day (the food was even more filling than a buffet! 😂). 4. The private outdoor onsen was also very comfortable. The best part was being able to soak as a family, without separation by gender, which really enhanced the cozy feeling! 🫰🏻 5. The ryokan also has its own onsen and a sauna room to enjoy. 6. Overall, everyone in our family unanimously rated it full marks! We're already planning to return when it snows."

"I was unable to return home due to the heavy snowfall and had to search for a lodging in a hurry, but it was close to the station. They even brought me some newspaper to dry my snow-soaked boots, which was a real help! ❗️ Since it was a hostel, I was a little worried about traveling with my elderly mother, but there was a Jizoyu hot spring nearby, and we were given a voucher to warm up our bodies, which were cold to the core, and my mother was very happy. They also lent me rain boots, so I was able to walk around town safely even on snowy days. Thank you so much for your hospitality! 😊"

"It takes some walk to the busy main road. But the shuttle service is good. The hotel and everything is new, the in house hot spring is also very nice but only a small soda machine at the hot spring area. Would be nice if there’s more selection of snacks/drinks post hot spring. Very nice dinner menu, detailed design and impressive presentation."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything about the check-in experience was smooth and professional. Special thanks to Hiro, who assisted us during check-in. He was extremely professional, spoke excellent English, and gave us a very clear and thorough explanation about the hotel facilities and our room. His service made us feel very welcome and comfortable right away. The room was beautiful, clean, and well prepared, and all the facilities were exactly as described. Honestly, everything about this hotel - from the service to the atmosphere - was close to perfect. This was one of the best hotel check-in experiences we've had. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to others."

"The modern Japanese interior particularly caught my eye. I was so intrigued by the inn that I almost forgot to think about the lack of parking. The Myanmarese staff were very attentive and welcoming. There were many small, thoughtful touches, such as welcome tea, a small bottle of tea for after your bath, and a rain doll at the door of your room. Kinosaki Onsen is famous for its outdoor baths, but it also has an indoor bath, and it was convenient to be able to rent two baths for private use. Both dinner and breakfast were uniquely presented. The seasoning was just right, and we ate everything without leaving any leftovers. August 18th was my husband's birthday, so we decided to go a little further away and visit for the first time in 10 years, but next time I'll probably go to Kinosaki to stay at this inn."

"Wonderful staff. At check in, one staff member rushed over with a car for our luggage. We were sitting for dinner at the table in the lobby and she brought over (without us asking) wine glasses for our wine. They also reminded us that if you scan a qr code and leave a review on checkout, they give you a gift (drinks or snack). It's far from anywhere, but there is a Lawson nearby and we brought in food from the supermarket."

Our favourite booking throughout our entire Japan trip! This inn is a family business so you can imagine how hospitable the entire family was to us this 2D1N. Regretted not staying 1 more day as the entire village was very relaxing. Room is super clean, yukata was provided for us to visit the public baths, access to all 7 public baths provided as well. We have everything we need with this inn! There’s also a private onsen in the hotel and the host was very helpful and nice about everything. He even went out of his way to send us to & fro the Kinosakionsen station… thank you so much we had fun and enjoyed it! Will definitely stay here again. <3

This was the best place we stayed at by far! The staff were incredibly welcoming, making it a truly unique experience for tourists. They even picked us up from the train station in a shuttle bus and took us directly to the hotel. They provided us with yukata robes and explained everything thoroughly (the staff spoke excellent English). Although you can wear your own clothes, the overall atmosphere really encourages you to change into the yukata and immerse yourself in the Japanese spirit. The room itself was beautiful, decorated in a traditional Japanese style, as were the hallways, which featured small wooden statues and calligraphic scrolls. Soft music played subtly in the corridors, and a pleasant, non-intrusive incense aroma filled the air. It was absolutely delightful! And finally, the food: we opted for both dinner and breakfast, and the spread was incredible! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, with generous portions – anyone would be satisfied. They even served delicacies like snow crab and premium meats. We definitely hope to come back here again!

By far the best hotel/resort experience I ever encountered. Not only did we travel with a family of 5 but we had 10 luggage’s in total which they helped to organise and deliver to our room even though it was really heavy. Accommodated to everything that we need and asked and super welcoming. The small details that they would do have imprinted in my memories for life e.g remembering which shoes we had, prepared our slippers, explaining our meals and providing a blanket without us asking. I hope this reaches out to the manager who put the most effort to making sure we were happy and looked after. We would all recommend this place to our families and friends. 1000/10 S+++

Date of Stay: January 24-25 Number of Guests/Purpose: 2 people, Sightseeing Overall Rating: B Pros: * The room was clean and looked exactly like the photos. * Wi-Fi was available. * Check-in was smooth. * Rental service for boots and umbrellas was provided. * Came with tickets for touring Kinosaki Onsen, and the room had a convenient onsen set for taking out. * There are private baths within the building. Cons: * The room felt a bit old. * At night, hotel staff were loudly arguing outside the annex, which left a bad impression. Location/Surroundings: * About a 10-minute walk from the station. It felt a bit of a walk, but being in the center of the onsen town made access to all hot springs excellent. Host's Service: * Friendly and good service. Summary: Considering the price and location, it was good. However, it's not somewhere I'd definitely want to stay again, but rather I'd be interested in trying other ryokans next time.

对不是日本人完全不友善的酒店 Not foreigner ( Western & Asian) friendly. We travelled around 70 Roykan in the last 3 years and this is the wrost service we ever had. Japanese get to seat and offered juices when they checked in while we have to stand at the front desk and no juice offered. We asked for the yukata rental (free rental) and the young staff just ignore us twice. We asked for sizes a few times then he just said it’s all here. Then when we picking the only two small sizes he grabbed and give it to the Japanese girl and ignore us or never ask us before he took it as he knows we are looking into those. Very rude. Most of ryokan will bring you to the room or assist to bring luggage or already put in the room for you. This one you do everything yourself after check in. When we get into the hotel room it’s hot as no aircon is on. Then air con is broken so we called reception. With their broken English they insisted I don’t know how to turn on the aircon which I told them the air con is broken, after 15mins on the phone showing me how to on I keep telling them to send the staff up as we are so hot in the room as it’s summer and no window open and no fan was on after moving luggage. They came up and fix the air con for 45mins then told us it’s broken and need to change room. The whole hour we were sweating but no offer of water / drinks or anything and we just stand in the room while they fixing. When they decided the room need to be changed, they asked us to wait downstairs but leave the luggage in the room so we thought they will move luggage to the new room but they did not. Staff see us so hot at lobby didn’t tell us there is free drinking machine that we can get ice juices , they just watch us hot and sweat and not saying a word. When the new room is finished, they gave us the new room key and asked us to move the luggage ourself and return the old key. No help at all and wasted 1.5 hours of our onsen time. No apologies as well. I feel like being treated like a trash. Not enjoyable at all. I paid extra for the sea view room which when they change my room they offered a slightly bigger room but my sea view was mostly blocked (in the pic )which I am not so happy. There is amenities corner at the lobby, at night after the onsen we come back and want to take the lotion as early on it was gone and they didn’t replenish, the female staff have a bad attitude and flip her eyes ask us which room we stayed, we showed her the key and she said the cream is already in the room which her broken English. There is one set in the room but those are small one time pack which we finish after we had the onsen so we want to take another one. She was rude and insist we can’t take. Her attitude was so bad seems like we are stealing. There is an amenities cornor, if you not allowing guest to take please do not have this setup. Food is okay with the buffet. Wagyu beef is nice but they is a normal standard for Japanese onsen buffet nothing too special. Overall, with the price paying compare to other roykan in Japan, this hotel have very bad service to non Japanese. There is also nothing special for this onsen. Probably best to try somewhere else.

We stayed at the hotel in October 2024. We took two rooms for two. Pros: 1. Magnificent rooms in the style of a classic ryokan: everything is very beautiful, authentic, lots of small details, notes and tips for guests, interesting trinkets in the room. We had beds, not futons, but this is not a minus - the beds are very comfortable. The view from the room (3rd floor) is of the mountains. The cleanliness is perfect, the room has everything that should be in a classic ryokan room: from tatami to a low table for relaxing. 2. Incomparable kaiseki dinner. Excellent sukiyaki breakfast (you cook it yourself). 3. The most beautiful interiors of the hotel, it is interesting to walk around it, exploring it from the inside. The hotel is beautiful from the outside too. 4. You can smoke in the rooms (we did not do this, and the rooms are not smoked at all). There is a smoking room at the entrance to the hotel. 5. Wonderful staff. All requests and complaints are satisfied within minutes. They speak English poorly, but it's not a problem, we communicated through a translator. The guys are cool, cheerful. Quick check-in, a bunch of reminders about where and when to come / what and how to do correctly. 6. There is a private onsen (we did not use it). 7. They give a free pass to 7 public onsen. They give discounts on souvenirs. 8. They give excellent yukatas for onsen, for women - they will give beautiful ones, the choice is huge. Nuances: 1. The only downside of the hotel is the distance from the center of Kinosaki (15-20 minutes walk through not very beautiful places). But! There is a free transfer from the hotel to the city center, plus there is a transfer station-hotel-station. And the walk from the hotel to the center of Kinosaki did not bother us much. 2. This is not a business hotel, so there is no washing machine, iron or shower in the room. The shower (and in fact - onsen) is shared on the minus first floor - separate for men and women.

Overall, a wonderful place. We highly recommend it. It was a wonderful walk from the station to the hotel, and we were greeted with the utmost courtesy, explained everything, and shown around. We were shown to our room and given instructions. We booked a traditional room with futons, and the view from the window was simply stunning. The onsen includes two hot springs, a comfortable changing area with massage chairs, a sauna, and a cold plunge pool. They give free passes to seven public baths in the village. There's a shuttle that takes you to various walking spots. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. We were very satisfied and would love to come back!

This stay was utterly incredible. Attentive, kind and helpful staff who were so supportive with language barrier, they even had staff who spoke English explain food and give us print outs which was so gratefully received and truly made a huge difference to our stay. Thank you Keita! The gardens were peaceful, the room was traditional and a completely peaceful retreat. There is a personal bath included each night which was clean and wonderful. The baths at the inn are excellent, I loved the outdoor one in the snow. It's a good location to explore the other baths in Kinosaki which are included in the stay, you can even continue going to the baths after you check out if your transport leaves later. This is very good value for money when you consider everything included, and we are so happy to have visited. Wonderful and full of tradition, and the owners are amazing. Hugely recommended!

Enjoyed our stay and experiencing our first onsen and kaiseki! They provided us with yukatas and passes to access the public baths, also had 3 private onsens on site. Friendly staff, lots of food included in the dinner and breakfast which they serve in your room and set up/pack up your bedding, with option for continental breakfast on our 2nd day instead of japanese style. Quiet, clean and futon bed was surprisingly comfortable. It’s about 8min walk from the train station which was fine for us but there’s a bus shuttle option right outside the station, and the hotel also offer bag drop off for a small fee when you leave so you don’t need to carry them. It’s close to the ropeway that you can ride up for nice views. Also right near the best public onsen in our opinion. (Be sure to check the onsen hours we missed out on one and note 2 are currently closed for renovations). A few things worth noting - breakfast is served early, you can pick 8 or 8.30am. If you are sensitive to light, it’s not completely dark when sleeping, sun comes through the windows as it has the traditional paper screen style. Also there in not a shower in your room, you need to use the onsen showers (either the private ones on site which you can’t book so can’t guarantee availability but both times we wanted to use them we were able to, or at the public onsens.) Overall we would recommend staying here to treat yourself to some peaceful rest and relaxation.

Upon arrival, the hotel gave us 2 free tickets for aquarium next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with parking valet and our luggage. The room we were in had an amazing view and it is spacious. It’s a Japanese style room and the staff had to come to put out futon for us around dinner time. Communal bath is big with an outdoor onsen. We noticed that they use salt water in the bath and onsen instead of chlorinated water like many other onsen hotel we have stayed in the past. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel but they open rather late at 7 and 8 pm so we didn’t get to try them. Breakfast were the same the whole we stay but they are pretty decent so there is no complaints. I would consider this to be one of the best hotel we have stayed during our trip there.
