"What can I say... absolutely amazing Alison our host was so lovely, she knew I was lactose free (just milk itself) and bought in for me great touch Breakfast was amazing Our room with the outside private area was lovely Room was well stocked of tea and coffee and sugar plus milk Bed super comfy (didn't want to get up) Quiet area, never really heard any noise from other guests that were staying, The accommodation is down a few country lanes but to me this isn't a problem as I am a country girl anyways, Great weekend break after a busy camping week, My partner and I treated this as our anniversary weekend 💕 and it was so lovely, torquay not far and great for a good browse, Thank you Alison, We hope to come stay again with you"

"Excellent location! Right next to a museum and a miniature village, plus a 100-year-old railway. There's a theater and a little shop nearby where we'd buy fish and chips almost every day, and a Tesco Express too. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment with singers. The staff were friendly and calm, and the large lobby and bar downstairs were a bonus. I fell in love with this hotel from the photos, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the staff!"

"Our driver stays in hotels all over the UK while transporting vehicles for our business, and he says this is by far one of the best places he stays. The hotel is consistently very clean, the service from the staff is excellent, and everything is well organised and comfortable. A major advantage for us is the parking. It is very convenient for larger vehicles, and our driver is able to park a truck and trailer without difficulty, which is not always easy to find when travelling for work. Because of this, whenever we have jobs in the Exeter area, this is always the hotel he prefers to stay at. Highly recommended and we will definitely continue using it whenever we are in the area."

"Characterful property and ok for a night or two, but needs attention to detail. Feels a bit tired and uncared for - basic facilities are adequate and staff friendly but no sense of any focus on customer experience. Bedroom room 4 was spacious but fixtures in bathroom were loose, curtain linings mouldy and drawer handles missing. General sense that carpets and fittings need a deep clean. Breakfast area draughty and gloomy. Food was fine but lacked a personal touch (eg no choice offered of how eggs cooked). Access to rooms is through bar and past unattractive storage area. Wouldn’t rush back. "
