Kho Chang is a beautiful island covered with trees, mountains and waterfalls. There are perfect beaches on its western shore. On one of these is Coconut Beach Resort. It's scale and architecture suit this island. Some larger hotels there might as well be in overdeveloped cities. Accommodation is in clusters of two-story buildings innThai style, grouped around a beautiful swimming pool and tropical gardens. There are trees on the beach with hanging swings and womb chairs. The restaurant has tables at the edge of the beach. The Thai food is delicious - seafood in red curry, whole fish simmering at your table, grilled prawns - and there are cocktails to complete the holiday treat. Service is friendly and efficient.

We had family visiting Thailand for the first time, and we stayed at both the Koh Chang Paradise Hill Resort and the sister resort Koh Chang Paradise Resort across the street. If you want to read about my awful experience at the sister resort, Koh Chang Paradise, you can read my other review. Our stay at the Koh Chang Paradise Hill Resort was fun and relaxing. My kids enjoyed the waterpark and the beach. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Two thumbs up for the staff! The only negative experience I had with a staff member was at breakfast one morning. I had sprained my ankle right before our beach holiday and was hobbling around at breakfast filling up my personal mug with tea because the provided cups were really small and I didn’t want to have to get up multiple times to refill the small cup. A chef got angry at me and told me to not use my personal mug. He raised his voice at me and told me unkindly to not do what I was doing. I explained to him that I had hurt my ankle and did not want to get up multiple times to get more tea. I don’t think he really listened to me because he kept talking to me with an angry voice about not using my cup. Thankfully all the other staff at breakfast have been great. The lifeguards at the pool were great. One of the kids in our group slipped and cut her foot, and they cared for her with proper first aid. I appreciated their professional approach! Cleaning ladies were cheerful and smiled a lot.

I went with my 70+ year old parents and my husband. The ages of the other guests were from young to old. Everyone was comfortable, kind and caring for everyone else. We met two great volunteers- Nelly and Jessie who were great at connecting folks every evening. Our rooms were on the second level, facing the pool. We never heard anything from the parties right down below, even though they stayed up later than us. The walls were thick and the doors kept the sound out. There were two families with young children who also seemed to have no issue with any sounds. What to say about the staff? Faii and Dalí were knowledgeable about everything-set up a snorkel trip and recommended the best restaurants! Oh and the cleaning folks made a delicious breakfast every day. The beach was AMAZING. An easy walk down from the hostel. Shaded by trees and soft sand. The water was warm and shallow. I want to go back! Don't miss it!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights during our visit to Thailand and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so helpful and lovely, they really couldn’t do enough for you. One night we had left it too late to get any water from the local shop as it has closed- and the lady on reception sent house keeping to the room to give us two bottles of water- which we really appreciated!! The location of this hotel is perfect, you’ve got the beach and a pool to choose from- the beach is beautiful- so quiet and clean! The breakfast was great- not many English kind of options, only cereal, pancakes and fruit but lots of Thai options which my boyfriend enjoyed. The only negatives I would have to say was the wifi wasn’t great - it kept logging us out after an hour or and their were ants in our room but not many- they were only on walls now and again- but I’m such a clean freak and even i would stay there again- it really wasn’t that bad.

Nice and quiet We had been this place and we decide to come back because of it really nice hotel ,the thing we like is staff very nice and friendly, room are big and clean , quite pool area, beautiful garden. A bit far from restaurant and shop but you take motorbike to go around the island just contact at reception, also our activities like snorkeling, elephant trip .

Very nice hotel, unfortunately a little afforded, but still very nice. We had a bungalow right at the neighbouring river, which was beautiful from the location, but was very standardly furnished from the inside and quite afforded. It was also very easy to screw. But this is in the limits, you can see it away. There are 2 beautiful pools in the plant with sufficient lifting areas. Also a free shuttle boat service is offered to the beach and to the Fireflys. However, if you have a bad time you wait for the shuttle to take one back with or miss the return (18:00), you will have to go back about 25 minutes (navi or local knowledge needed). The breakfast buffet is unrecommended, the selection is very small and tastefully not so good, then prefer to breakfast outdoor for small money. The service itself was completely OK and clean the facility is also. From the location a roller is beneficial, but no need, in 15-20 min walking road you also reach the most important. The wire in the rooms is OK, enough for Netflix. But vllt. not so suitable for work.

I liked it very much. Price / quality super. Live in two floor block on the second floor. Quiet and quiet. Well-pleasant staff. I'll come back. Before the two beaches 10 minutes walk, lots of cafes and shops around. On the other hand, two expensive hotels, so quiet. And a very beautiful view on the mountains. From the downsides - did not work wifi in the rooms.

11/25/23 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Friendly ,professional and accommodating staff Very private and quiet location 3 wonderful nights Arrived at 12:00pm . Rooms were available and the wonderful receptionist checked me in early. The room I reserve was older. I viewed the renovated rooms by the reception building and it was magical. Modern, King bed , large tub for two, high ceiling , balcony, rain shower , water kettle , beach and bath towel etc etc . Take my money please !!!!!!! Paid extra , but so worth it( see pics). Breakfast was simple: eggs, pancakes , thai food , instant coffee, tea bags , hot water , fruits and salad. Resort is next to the beach. Fine sand, calm shallow water , very clean and baby elephants playing in the sea. The staff here is what made this resort shine. Always greeted with a smile Plenty of auto and bike parking. Location: 30 min to the ferry/pier 5 minute walk to the main road 5 “. “ to amazing restaurants , bars, live music , massages, cafes , motorbike rentals , ****s shops , etc etc . Best location for all your needs. Lovely stay. Looking forward to my next visit .

We were in KB Resort for repeated times. The reception was in a new building and the beach bungalows were also new. We had one of these bungalows in the first row at the sea, about 3-4 meters from the sea. Only a few cocoa palms separated us from the beach. The facilities were very good and clean with a large bed and a beautiful veranda with a table, bank, chair and a beautiful ”bed sofa”. Who uses TV in the room at this location and the view of the sea, I don't understand.

GGuest UserGood hotel, although not new. Convenient location with many cafes and shops nearby. The territory is good, a lot of greenery. Breakfast is modest, the main diet is eggs in different versions. In addition, vegetables, fruits, herbs, pastries.
Two pools: in a large one, it seems, sea water. We did not swim there, as the water is very warm, not at all refreshing. In a small one, the water is better, clean, you can freshen up)
The beach is very beautiful, but not swimmable at all! Stones. You can enter only in coral slippers. We did not swim in the sea near the hotel.
There are kayaks, the use of hotel guests is free.
The staff is friendly, as are the locals.
But special thanks to the girls at the reception. Very hospitable, friendly, always ready to help!! And thanks to the hotel driver, he also helps with luggage upon arrival and departure! Very pleasant and helpful!
We will stay at this hotel again! ❤️

GGuest UserSome stunning views around the hotel grounds but it’s not really a resort. Sure, it’s a big hotel but there is no entertainment or things to do within the hotel. There is a beach and small pool but no night time shows, no daytime activities.
Room was average, not bad but not wow. Definitely not worth the price as it seemed to be built quite an old time ago and just refurnished every now and then. Room had AC which is good.
Location of the hotel was ok as it was close to a Lotus shop and a small high street, this wasn’t a far walk. There are wider issues with the island itself but for as much as the hotel can do, it has done.
Staff are lovely and so kind and helpful.
Overall there definitely needs to be an overhaul on the entertainment side. Most resorts have a dedicated entertainment/animation team that are responsible for putting on shows, planning activities and overall improving guest satisfaction.

GGuest UserThis hotel has been operating for over 10 yrs. It was good back then and still a good vibe here. Its got to be the best budget option on Lonely beach for sure. The room I was allocated was so clean, nice and had a new feel about it. Large bathroom and fridge in the room. Good price Restaurant food is not bad. The Cambodians working there are friendly. But I imagine they dont suffer fools. If you treat them well they will treat you well. If I were management I would probably keep a closer eye on them to make sure they are being polite to all customers. If you plan to walk into town at nighttime you need a torch. Its not far but dangerous in the dark with the bikes and cars zipping past. Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Right on the stunning beach. White sand and nice water. Cant wait to go back!

GGuest UserBeautiful structure buit on stilts over the waters with one of the best seafood restaurant of Koh Chang. Large room well equiped nicely decorated and well maintained. Free kayaks to explore the bay or to spend some lovely times at the small white sand beach on Koh Phrao Nok. Best is to rent a scooter to explore the area since the roads are flat and safe on this side of the island. Not only Long Beach or Memorial Beach but Salakphet Temple, the waterfall and the mangrove forest is a must to visit !!! We had a great private tour boat at a very affordable price with several stops on different islands. Just ask the manager Khun Big and she will do her best to fulfil your expectations for a customized experience. Be aware Salakphet is a quiet traditional fishing village so do not expect bars or discos in the surroundings but is a great spot for nature lovers. We could spend only 3 days here and it was not enough to discover everything so we will come back again.

GGuest UserOK why am I giving 3 and not a 5 star rate, for a couple of key points, but let's start with a positive points. Great location, and beautiful property, nice pool (although at the time we visited the pool was green it didn't bother us but it might bother you) and facilities. Nice breakfast, good happy hour. Nice rooms with great balconies. Now into the details that I didn't like. - The room wasn't well clean, since day 1, even when we checked in we didn't have towels and had to wait couple of hours to get towels and after requesting several times. We also noticed that all floors had different cleaning staff, maybe we weren't lucky, we were on the room 233. - Poor and old amenities in the room. We had a super old shower cap in the room with hairs, really unacceptable for a 4 star hotel, and that was it for amenities, and the tray their were supposed to be displayed was dirty with hairs and dust. - somehow the room was missing something, maybe the cleaning part, because it missed the wow factor that it could have. - the hotel promotes tours with elephant riding which in my opinion is BIG NO and unacceptable. - the egg station in the breakfast was working in a strange way, if you wanted a fired egg they had already several done and in a super odd shape, not natural. I don't understand why to have egg station if you don't preper them fresh. - the staff in the reception was not costumer service mind or service minded, maybe they need a workshop for all staff members in this hotel, maybe it's a management problem or still covid recovery problem. I don't know this hotel has such a great potential maybe it's the best hotel in the island and some details are missing. Another annoying point, but this is not the hotels fault is just a warning, so much people taking Instagram pictures everywhere, to the point that it's annoying. People are not experiencing the place instead they are taking pictures to post online, and it kills the vibe. I hope someone reads it and it creates an impact in how this hotel is managed, spec3the cleaning and attention to detail. Would I return yes, again I believe that this is one of the best hotels in the island. This is not a complain althout it might sound, it's more notes for improvement. Hope next time I can give a 5 star rating.

PpartyonGreat hotel. Big, clean rooms, good aircon, decent wifi, and really nice balcony (though could use better furniture). Standard Thai bed, but more comfortable than others. The pool is bigger than it seems and clean; of course it is right by the road, but it's not too bothersome. The staff doesn't speak a word of english, and are not the most helpful, but the older ladies sass is charming in a way. The only issue was the noise from walking street right across the road, 1 of the 3 nights, the music was super loud until 3am. And by super loud, I mean I'm 30's stay up late partying all the time - it takes a lot for me to say that, and it was still crazy loud. Luckily I had earplugs, but could still feel the music through the bass. The other 2 nights, the music was toned down around midnight. There is a laundry place 50m away. No close walkable 7/11 unfortunately, but a 2 min drive. Check out the restaurant called โชคดีซีฟู้ด (copy and paste that to google maps) near Chokdee Resort, it's out on the water on stilts and had a nice vibe, great for sunset and not too expensive.

KKangGood location and a very very friendly owner! However the weather was very hot and I was literally not able to sleep in a Fan room. I ended up booking another resort around since the resort was full.. so never slept in this resort. It’s a cute little cottage but if you are picturing a real cottage made with wood, which allows air circulation inside, this is not that. So please book for a room with AC!

GGuest UserTropical is on Klong Kloi beach, right at the very end of the road on the southern most beach on Koh Chang. The bungalows are spacious with large comfortable beds and the air-conditioning works very well & is quiet. The photographs of the resort are accurate & up to date. Whilst they do not have a restaurant currently, breakfast is provided at the Coco Chacha restaurant just a 50m. walk on the beach & is excellent! The surrounding area is well kept & although the beach is a little rocky in front of Tropical, it's just a short walk to find perfectly sandy spots. as well as Coco Chacha restaurant, there are others a short walk along the beach. Cholly, the manager is a wonderful asset to the resort, as is Kong Tub & all the staff are friendly & helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. If you need supplies and drinks for your fridge, then I suggest you shop in Bang Bao before you check in or hire a scooter from them to get around.
