Popular Koh Phangan 4-star Hotels

Hey everyone. We spend in this hotel 6 days and it was amazing. Service 5/5 ,view 5/5, food 5/5 , clean 5/5. and especially breakfast 😍😍😍 the best breakfasts in island. You must to taste their home made strawberry jam 😍 really HIGHLY RECOMMEND. P.s. of course wonderful swimming pool and sunset side ❤️❤️❤️

Really nice hotel, we had 3 Superior rooms that overlooked the larger pool and with a view of the bay. They are very nicely styled and comfortable, with good beds and pillows, and aircon. They were very clean and with a nice big balcony. I think that standard rooms are perhaps in an older part of the hotel and overlook another pool, and are a little far from the main facilities. 1 issue with these room styles is the glass half height door on the toilet - meaning a distinct lack of privacy. The buffet breakfast was generally good, but go early to beat the rush, on one of our days we were late to breakfast and it was very busy with some things running out. Service in the rstaurant in the evening was hit and miss, but we found this was the case all over ths island. On one occasion we waited 1h20 minutes between ordering and receiving the last dish ordered, and 40 minutes between the first and last. Yet the restaurant was very quiet. Food quality was good and prices were correct. The pool was nice, very big and clean and the beach nearby is beautiful. There aren't enough sun loungers though, but if you go to the older pool then there is always space. Some reviews on hotel websites say that it is a little isolated. Not sure I'd totally agree, it is in a quieter area but there are plenty of restaurants and shops around within walking difference. The quietness of the area more than compensates for the isolation. You can easily rent a scooter for 200 baht a day or a car. However taking the hotel transport or other taxis is expensive in comparison, and also charged per person not per vehicle. TIP: snorkelling off the beach is great, but to get to the snorkelling area near the hotel is difficult, it's rocky and there are sharp rocks that cut and graze. The secret that we were told is to look on Google maps on satellite view. You can see a clear route through the rocks/reef at one point about 200 metres or so up the beach away from the resort. However shoes are still necessary. After that, the snorkelling was excellent in the morning when the sea was calm. Also go to the beach at sunset, it was lovely. Best restaurant we found was Wan Yam Kam just opposite the hotel entrance (it might have another name now - but that's the name on google maps). Service in other restaurants was hit and miss as described above. Expect to pay around 120-140 baht for a simple Thai dish, around 160-200 for non Thai, around 140-160 for a cocktail, 25 to 30 baht for a soda and 60-70 for a beer. We visited the waterfalls near the hotel - bizarre place and wrong season as no water! Our chidren did a PADI diving course with SailRock Divers school nearby, can recommend. Very good communication and teaching. My issue with Agoda (a rookie mistake as I usually use ***********) is that they are not transparent with pricing and payment. This resort is simply wonderful! It’s not too big so it feels cosy and comfortable. Every room faces the pool or beach. The beach, restaurant, pool, massage, everything is very close by. The only thing I would say that was not ideal is that the shower is only a rain shower, which is hard for little kids and babies. In the room they have thoughtful little details such as flip flops, beach bag you can use during your stay, also gave mosquito repellent. But the best part is the outstanding service, every staff was so friendly and accommodating and efficient. At night it’s relaxing and convenient to take a table right on the beach and often they have entertainment like fire show or saxophone. Very grateful for the 3 days we enjoyed here. Definitely recommend to visit.

We stayed in a lovely family room up the top of the resort, which was steep but only 5 mins walk up some steps. Or if we were feeling lazy the the resort gave free golf buggy service up the hill which the kids (aged 10 & 12) loved. Not a problem for us but could be with smaller kids. Comfy beds, great views and private splash pool. Was cleaned regularly and was well stocked with fresh water. The main pool was brilliant and Salad beach itself we liked, a scattering of decent places to eat and nice clear water for snorkelling. I don’t think hotel restaurant was quite up to scratch, could do with more staff as waiting times could be long but the food itself was pretty good. Generally we were happy and would stay again.

The view from the hotel's shared pool is wonderful. The rooms are clean. The employees are very respectful, friendly and helpful. Price performance is very good.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Summer Luxury resort. The rooms are really spacious and the resort is pretty with a nice pool and a sea view from the restaurant. We went in December and I believe there is a high tide at this time so there was no beach, but this didn’t really bother us as we didn’t have great weather anyway during our stay. The downside of this hotel is the location, there is a dirt track to get to the hotel which I personally wouldn’t feel too comfortable walking down at night. We hired a car as we found that there wasn’t many restaurants / things to do within walking distance. Having said that, the restaurant at the hotel is really nice, we enjoyed the food and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast was also really good too. The reception staff were also friendly, I didn’t get his name but one man in particular made our stay with his welcoming and warm attitude, and willingness to help us with any queries/trips we wanted to book etc! Another member of staff at the poolside bar was very friendly and attentive too. Unfortunately the cooking class wasn’t open due to maintenance during our stay which was a shame as we had rain most days and found ourselves looking for things to do. The spa was also closed for maintenance on one of the days. Overall, the hotel is nice, and I would definitely recommend if you’re not too bothered about hiring a car/scooter to get around.

Hired a truck/taxi from the pier to take us to the hotel but he drove like a complete psycho and then dropped us off at the resort before. Not a huge deal but we didn't notice until he'd gone and had to walk around, dragging our huge luggage around trying to find the correct resort. Would recommend organizing the hotel shuttle if possible. Front desk staff were always friendly to us, as well as the golf cart driver who drove us and our luggage to our unit and showed us around the room and how to use everything. Room was nice, clean and quiet except when the maintenance crew sat on our front deck area chatting at 7:45am one morning :) Pool was big, cool and clean. Only recommendation is more attention being paid to random people from nearby resorts and hostels taking up the lounge chairs around it when they aren't even staying there. Restaurant staff were attentive and friendly and the food was good. The way some of the guests treated the staff was shocking. They couldn't have been more demanding and rude which the poor staff didn't deserve. Best viewpoint restaurant/bar we only found the day before we left unfortunately but it had the most AMAZING views. Was the 420 Bar/360 Viewpoint that is accessed at the end of the road, near the main road. It's a bit far out of any busy area so you're limited to the on-site restaurant or the few that are a short walk away. We liked the Big O the best out of all of them. There is also a family run mart that seemed to have the best prices for things and we used the most. It was the one with the counter top made up of tons of different currencies. He was missing CAD so we gave him a $5 bill and a $1 Loonie. Hopefully he got them added to his collection.

We stayed beginning of August in a Garden room with terrace. Apart from the Full Moon Party days, it is a very friendly and relaxed hotel with a touch of simple class. Chilled out beach setting with sunbeds, chairs and beanbags. Not too far from Haad Rin but also far enough... Rooms are a good size, clean, bright, cool and with a good selection of bathroom items, fresh water and a stocked minibar (not too expensive). The restaurant is good with a lot of choice and the best breakfast we've had in Thailand so far. We had a BBQ night and a film night while we were there - nice bonuses.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in Thailand. We landed too late and there was already no boat to Koh Phangan (last boat leaves at 16.30) so we had to check in one day later and even if that was our fault not being able to get to the island , the lady in reception told us they have upgraded our room for Deluxe for free. So that was lovely surprise and it just kept carry on. The room had a bath on balcony , another bath and shower . All clean and very comfortable ! The restaurant area is just stunning ! The best sea view and the most romantic sunsets from here and I’m not even talking about the food - just amazing and tasty. The staff were speaking very good English and were more than helpful. This place is just perfect and I couldn’t fault it in any way !

We were here for 4 nights as a couple. Basically we liked our stay very much, but we can not recommend the small bungalows. We stayed in the cheapest bungalow and it was so small that you could not even place the open suitcase. In addition, windows and doors were not tight, so we had many mosquitoes in the room. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was also right above our heads, so we both caught colds. When using the shower, the whole bathroom floods because the drain is at the other end of the room. Also, there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom. But otherwise the room was clean and the bed was large and comfortable. We especially liked the hotel grounds. It is really in the middle of the beach, there is soft sand everywhere and the restaurant is also right at the water. There is also a pool table and a ping pong table, both of which we used very often. Special praise must be given to the helpful, friendly hotel staff, who were always eager to make one's stay as comfortable as possible. When we arrived the first evening, our window would not close. There were some communication difficulties with the ladies at the reception because they really didn't understand a word of English. In the following days, however, all the ladies at the reception could speak perfect English, which made communication much easier. Nevertheless, the ladies gave us a new room for one night, which was a great relief. Right next to the hotel is a scooter rental. We rented a scooter here, which was really uncomplicated and cheap. In the area there is very cheap and delicious street food, for example at ”Mama Thai Food” or ”Life Style” with super nice owners. The breakfast in the hotel is delicious and there is a choice of several dishes. However, it is ”a la carte” and you can only order one dish. The portion is a bit small for a grown man, so you would actually have to order 2-3 dishes to get full. Even the most expensive breakfast ”Milky Bay Breakfast” includes only 2 slices of toast, 2 fried eggs, a few mushrooms, 2 slices of tomato and a single piece of bacon (?!). Fortunately, free fruit (pineapple or watermelon) is always offered as well, which helps you get a little fuller. Conclusion: if I had to rate our room exclusively, I would only give the resort 2 out of 5 stars. I've slept in beachfront bungalows in Thailand that cost between 10€-20€ per night and were more comfortable and modern than our bungalow (50€ per night). However, due to the fantastic service, the great facility and the nice staff I give 4 out of 5 stars and the following advice: Don't book the smallest, cheapest bungalow! We saw the better rooms from the outside and they looked really big and modern. If we had stayed in such a room, I would have definitely given 5 out of 5 stars!
