Kyoto Hotels with Gym

Overall was okay, a bit far from Kyoto staion. But, hotel has shuttle bus every 20 mins and make it more convenient. Service and amenities were nice. The worst part was humidity of the room and cleanliness (quite low compared to Japanese standard), plus bedsheets were smelly.

The location of Granvia Kyoto is excellent, right on top of Kyoto JR station which is very convenient in sight-seeing around Kyoto (and other places in west of Japan) especially during cherry blossom season. We enjoyed our 5 nights' stay there in end March while the whole city was bursting with tourists and locals all over Japan. There are also lots of restaurants nearby the area, and the underground shopping district offers a lot of fun for shopping and breakfast and lunch. For tips at dinner, may avoid going to restaurant floors in depar**ent stores as there were long queues almost for all restaurants due to peak season and we had to wait for more than 45 minutes at some points. The only drawback was there was a fire alarm (around 11 pm) during our stay, and there was broadcast from the hotel asking all guests to evacuate immediately and move down to the lobby in the middle of the night. While we appreciate that hotel was responsive out of our safety, yet since the announcement was rectified a few minutes later saying that the alarm was not due to a fire on the floor we stayed in, we would suggest that the hotel management may improve in handling similar situations in future and check in-person on the spot to confirm whether or not an emergency situation exists before asking all guests to evacuate. Apart from this everything has been perfect.

This was my first trip to Kyoto and there are many options for hotels. I was having trouble deciding exactly where but Good Nature turned out to be an excellent choice because: 1. It's right downtown - a few minutes walk to two subway stops - you'll use the subway to get to good attractions like Inari, Nara, Kiyomizu 2. you are also within walking distance to Pontocho, Gion, Nishiki markets 3. There were 3 of us so we had 3 individual beds - in a standard room and despite this being 28m2 the layout of the room is very good. Of course, if you want the deluxe room it's much bigger but it will cost a lot more 4. Managed to score a trip.com 36% discount (for 5 nights) which was a no-brainer (we just got the room only) - pay for buffet breakfast if you must (plenty of Starbucks around if that's your thing) - I did book the first night separately direct through the hotel website though as the trip.com offer didn't extend for 6 nights 5. The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and explained everything. 6. Buffet breakfast was a good selection of Western and Asian choices. The restaurant was very clean. The prosciutto was amazing!

Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage. The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for sightseeing and dining were invaluable, enabling me to make the most of my time in Kyoto. The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and elegance. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, it exuded a sense of serenity that allowed me to unwind after a day of exploration. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the carefully curated amenities.

The Thousand Kyoto is a perfect choice for families. Big rooms with the Kyoto station just across the street. Close to perfection! The only thing I would feedback on is the lack of black out curtains in the room. As we were there in summer, we were awakened by the sun at 5am in the morning! Will be perfect if we get to sleep in!

Generally would like to rate 98/100 to this hotel! 👍🏻Location: Just right beside the subway station! Very convenient to travelers who are not familiar with Kyoto, especially after a tiring trip I just want to get to hotel as soon as possible without any hassles if possible. And the plus point is even this hotel is facing street but it’s quiet and no noise, besides that, along the street go straight down, got a lot of food and shops on shijo high street! 👍🏻Service: Service staff are friendly and professional! They are always keen to listen to your requests and answer your inquiries and follow your instructions accordingly! Surprisingly, they even went extra mile to make their customers more comfortable, I can feel they are taking their pride in their jobs which touches me. 👍🏻Cleanliness and Amenities also on point! The hotel is very new btw. The only 2 advices I would like to mention: 1. For my room type, there is difficulty to fit in big luggage, let alone for 2 persons so in that case please book bigger room. 2. Breakfast choice is quite limited, so if you had high expectation of hotel’ breakfast you might won’t be surprised. I still strongly recommend this hotel to people and will definitely visit it again as I really had a pleasant stay there.

The location is relatively inconvenient, but the appearance of the entire hotel is very beautiful. It's quite disappointing that a hotel with such a beautiful appearance does not have a hot spring. The facilities in the room are quite poor. For example, in my triple room (Room 207), one of the plug-in sockets has no electricity, and the drawer is also broken. In addition, the flushing system often makes flushing sounds, which is very annoying. Noisy.

This Ritz-Carlton location sitting on Kamogawa and Hagashiyama mountains, is one of the best locations to stay in Kyoto. The architecture is gorgeous on every level as you enter the hotel. You feel transported to a particular place that you will never forget. In addition, the quality of service the Ladies and Gentlemen provides goes above and beyond any other Ritz-Carlton location. Staying at the Kamogawa Executive Suite was an unforgettable experience. Approximately 1350 sq. ft., the suite provides luxury accommodations that exceed the highest expectations of any guest. The bathroom is gorgeous, especially the bathtub, where the wall and bathtub are decorated with sakura flowers. The bed is comfortable, and the living room is quite spacious. One thing I would have loved to see inside this room is a Genkan to place shoes as you enter the suite. Preserving the floor and rug is necessary and educates foreign guests about the importance of doing this. Another aspect that I loved about this place was Mizuki. Every morning I visited it for a Japanese-style breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition, I went to one of their sushi demonstrations and felt that I had a lifetime supply of sushi. Every bite was delicious, and the chef went above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Please make reservations for kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki, and of course, sushi during your stay in advance. The spa is also a must if you are staying in this location. It is one of my most relaxing experiences, and the facilities are excellent. As you enter the spa, all the details regarding the walk to the counter or attendant, the changing room, and the pool area are planned quite well, so the guest can feel extra special and disconnected from reality. Finally, I must recognize the Ladies and Gentlemen's hard work and dedication at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. Thank Ana and Naoto, for your friendly welcome to the hotel and making things possible during my stay. Chef Tomohiro Goda and his team provided an experience I will never forget at Mizuki. Naoki was friendly and helpful as I researched information. Pablo and Thain were attentive to my needs as I left the hotel and provided a great experience as I checked out. Special thanks to Carlos for leading such a fantastic Ritz-Carlton property in Japan and consideration prior to my stay. This is one of the top Ritz-Carlton properties I have stayed in, out of 25 Ritz-Carlton. I will cherish all the memories that I gained from this place and will make sure to come back in the future.

There are many things to like about this hotel but let me start with the most important- its people. I must give special thanks to the Front Office Manager- Yuki. On one of the nights, I had unfortunately developed a high fever- coming from abroad, I was in an anxious state about the care I may receive or what my next steps should be. All the hospitals in the surrounding area were full and could not accept walk ins. We rang the front desk and the manager Yuki reassured us that he would assist in ensuring I received proper medical attention asap. He made a few calls to his personal network and sure enough within minutes he had secured us a slot at a local hospital, arranging everything for us to ensure we were attended to immediately by the hospital staff and effectively treated. He went out of his way to help arrange the transport and did it all in the most warm, friendly demeanour. Just interacting with him had put me at ease and the extent he went to help was incredible. I had never experienced such personalised care from one of the hotel staff in my life and have stayed at multiple properties both locally and globally- Thank you Yuki, you were truly amazing and I hope to see you in Singapore! Location wise the hotel is situated pretty centrally - you've got access to multiple convenient stores, train station, bus stops and the area is relatively quiet and peaceful. Rooms were spacious enough and clean too.

The location is excellent and right in the downtown of Kyoto but not in the front street which will be too crowded and noisy, still there were some noisy from the restaurants and bar nearby which still played loud music even after 12:00AM, so not ideal for those people who needs total silence to sleep. This is probably the necessary evil when live in the downtown hotel, but the hotel is already in the back alley so felt a bit better. Cannot consider the service top quality since the hotel front desk is located at 8th floor, and there is only one person tending the luggage at ground level till 6PM, so no service can be offered at ground level, this is the part can improve since some of the high floor hotel do have ground floor service crew unless in a big commercial building complex. The room is nicely decorated and everything feels new, no complaint about the room. Although the breakfast is a bit disappointed given the very limited selection of foods and Japanese style breakfast can only offer limited number (25 serving per day?), this part can definitely make some improvement, at least inform the guest about the limited number so we can book in advance.
