Hot spring Hotels in Kyoto

I got this property information from XiaoHongShu. Very impressive with the hot spring, sunset and sunrise activities. So we book and stay! We checked in around 3.30pm and go for the evening cocktail with the gorgeous views. Dinner and then enjoy ours night spring. And sunrise spring. Honestly this is the best ever experience. Will come back again!

We stayed here for one night, I would like to stay longer. Close to Kyoto station, but I don’t like this part of the city. Whatever I like the hotel’s concept! It’s nice onsen hotel, where you have to take off your shoes before entering into the hotel, everywhere in the hotel is tatami, so nice to walk on. First floor is for onsen and restaurant. It was amazing breakfast, I think I can eat different food everyday and won’t be bored! You can make yourself coffee, matcha, tea or any other beverages, can make it with ice so on. Seriously, I was surprised about your food service, I have to mention about evening ramen for everyone, it was nice to eat after visiting onsen, I also grab an iced late after. In the resting area near the onsen gate there is free ice cream and diary beverages.

I and my mother stayed there for one night 20000 yen per person, with dinner and breakfast. It was a very comfortable stay. This was more like a hotel, except that we needed to walk around without your own shoes (without getting dirty feet) inside. It was fully booked on that day. We had an earlier check-in, which mean that we could enjoy our relaxing private Onsen bath without standing in line. We also tried the large onsen baths later in the evening after a long walk in the beautiful Arashiyama area nearby. It was hot, but great. One of the baths was outside in a Japanese garden. We got warmed up from the inside out, and had an ice popsicle before we went up to our room for good nights rest. We also enjoyed a huge dinner and breakfast, true local cuisine with typical taste in Kyoto that supposed to be refined and ”delicate” - you shouldn´t expect any strong taste, and correctly cooked. This supposed to be a 3-star-hotel, but the amenity was completed. We didn´t miss anything here. We thought the staff at the front desk were not amazing, but definitely not poor. We didn´t need to deal with them so much as we had good information in written form. Everything was clean and pleasant. Had absolutely nothing to complain. We would definitely love to come back again. My rating is 4 - not more or less. I certainly see that they still have a room for improvement, but overall I didn´t personally understand all the poor reviews.

My wife’s birthday trip at the Suiran was a dream come true. With successive Covid cancellations, it took us four years of planning, but it was worth the wait. With their traditional Japanese structures and landscaping, the Suiran was our oasis of calm during Kyoto’s busiest season (cherry blossoms). We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the best breakfasts of our lives in their dining room, and blissful riverside happy hours in their cafe. Our comfortable room had all the amenities, and a soothing minimalist aesthetic. The Suiran staff is spectacular: thoughtful, gracious, attentive. Through our years of planning and days of enjoyment, we were guided by Suiran’s chief concierge, Hiromi Maruyama. Her kindness, patience, and expertise added greatly to the success of our time in Kyoto. Her suggestions and insights, and good spirits were a beacon shining our way. We are indebted to her for her efforts on our behalf.

This is the second hotel I stayed in Kyoto. Before going to Aman, I read some of posts here that the service was bad. I then quite regret to make a room reservation though I was impressed by the photos and posts from website. Besides, I had a bad first impression toward Aman Kyoto as they replied email for at least 3 days. This is not acceptable for such hotel with high room rate. When I arrived the hotel for the first day, I was quite surprised by the service. The hotel staff load my luggages from taxi efficiently and sent them to rooms directly. Then I was guided by another staff for check-in. She served me and my child a cup of green tea. This green tea is very special. Its taste is green tea but has a floral smell. My kid and I were very impressed. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy one before leaving. Then we went to Living Pavilion to have lunch. After lunch, our room was ready and a staff took us to the room and introduced us the facilities. The room is spacious, even the bathroom. We stayed in room 楢 . It is near the Living Pavilion, hotel’s restaurant. It is quite quiet. For our staying of two nights, we almost had dinner in room. The Udon noodle tastes good. My son ate it in lunch time and two dinner time. The hotel also provides welcome desserts for every night. First night is dried persimmon and the second night is chocolates. The chocolates are very very yummy. I tried the spa massage for two times. It is really good. As only me and my son in this trip, he couldn’t use the complimentary onsen. I then paid for a private onsen. It is very comfortable. The room’s pillows are very hard. My kid and I didn’t have a good sleep. We asked the front desk to give us a softer one for second night. It still doesn’t fit for me. Thus I didn’t sleep well during my stay. The breakfast had three choices: Western, Japanese and wellness. We tried western and Japanese breakfast. Both are delicious. Especially French toast in western style and porridge in Japanese style. The taste is unforgettable. The hotel environment is very comfortable. It is far away from the city. Only trees and grass around us. Everywhere has fresh air. It refreshes me. If the bed and pillow fit me, it will be perfect. We also had lunch in Tak-An restaurant. The food is good. The staffs are very nice and kids-friendly. They are very tolerant to kids. The check-out process is also very smooth. Everything is well-prepared, even our luggages. We booked a transportation to the Kansai Airport through the hotel. The driver is nice.

We really love the place. all that we need were provided. Comfy. Clean. Ancient vibe. We love the food as well. We love The Hotel Montereyl Group. We're currently staying here at Hotel Monterey le Frere Osaka. This is our second time here. Five stars! We will definitely recommend and book again in the future.

Overall, amazing stay at the Miyako Westin Kyoto. Great location (quite central but not in the hectic district of Gion, at the foot of the hills on the east side of the side), stones throw to most restaurants / places of interests. Immediately got upgraded to suite when checking in (Platinum Bonvoy member), great service and hospitality. Suite was beautiful with balcony and great view, 2 member of the reception went up and escorted us to the suite. Food was amazing! Great breakfast spread with Japanese and Western options (the croissants are to die for, probably the best I've ever had!). They also have a Japanese Kaiseki option for a more authentic experience Concierge was super helpful. They managed to book us a table at a 1 michelin star Kaiseki restaurant with one day notice (keep in mind that most places are booked out 1-2 months in advance and the concierge had to call 15+ restaurants to find us a table) There was also an in-house ”Onsen” (Japanese bath house) with over 2000 sqm indoor and outdoor hot pool. Amazing place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. Wonderful stay all in all and a definite stay again for future trips to Kyoto. Highly recommended!

Situated along a vibrant street adorned with delectable beef restaurants and adjacent to a 24-hour drug store boasting competitive prices on cosmetics and medications, the hotel's location promises both convenience and immersion in local culture. A relatively new establishment, Ala Hotel Kyoto boasts one of the finest outdoor onsens I've encountered on my travels. Perched on the 10th floor, the onsen is accompanied by a tranquil zen lounge, ideal for unwinding post-soak or awaiting laundry completion. Though laundry services are complimentary, guests should note that detergent is not provided. While complimentary snacks were notably absent, the expansive onsen facilities and serene ambiance compensated for the oversight. However, it's worth mentioning that the onsen's operating hours are relatively limited, closing at 11 pm nightly, with only two hair dryers available. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness—ample enough to accommodate three luggage pieces comfortably. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the bathtub affording breathtaking views of the hotel's surroundings, perfect for soaking in the beauty of sunrise or sunset. Complete with access to YouTube and Netflix, the room provided ample entertainment options. For a delightful treat, indulge in soft-serve ice cream from the cafe adjacent to the hotel—an ideal conclusion to a day of exploration. The bed exuded comfort, while the addition of a sofa near the entrance provided a convenient spot to unwind without soiling the bedding with outdoor attire. Overall, while Ala Hotel Kyoto may lack certain amenities, its spacious accommodations, strategic location, and reasonable pricing make it a standout choice for travelers seeking tranquility and convenience in equal measure.

I booked this as a base for a solo trip. Location, cleanliness, everything is perfect. I only stayed overnight without meals because I was only going to sleep, and speaking of Dormy Inn, I didn't even eat the Yonaki Soba. However, there is a service where you can enjoy cup ramen nightaki soba even after the serving time has ended...! Welcome sweets in the fridge too? Contains mango pudding. Thank you so much! This is a hotel that I would like to use again if I have a chance to go to Kyoto.

We stayed at Super Hotel Kawaramachi, Kyoto. The location is very near to the train station and the hotel is very clean, bright, modern and minimalistic. The counter check-in and self check-out is efficient, without troubles. Keypad entry into the room is convenient with no risks of misplacement of key. Clean towels in a black bag placed at the door ensures minimal disturbance to guests. Guests can then return the used towels in the same black bag and place them outside the door. If guests prefer their room to be done up, they can just put the sign at the door. Everything is efficient. Even though the toilet and bath area is small, it is very clean. But fat people may not be able to enter. The water is clean and their bathroom products are labeled organic. The breakfast spread is good enough and satisfying. The happy hour 6 pm - 8 pm with free flow of drinks is good for families to get together. The hot bath onsen facilities are also very good. Overall, even though the hotel room is rather small, we are happy with the facilities and the convenience of the location.
