"We were completely exhausted when we checked in and delighted to find a comfy bed with lovely views over the river. We rested for a while and then went to the spa. The pool was just the right temperature as was the sauna and steam room. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed a great meal it was very tasty and served quickly. I'm vegan and gluten free and the choice for me was excellent. We then strolled around outside for a while catching the setting sun. The scenery was gorgeous. We slept really well and again enjoyed the spa facilities before a hearty breakfast and checked put completely refreshed at 11am the next day. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you New Lanark Mill Hotel."

"We spent a night at this lovely B & B en route to the Scottish Highlands & we made the right choice. John & Lesley were our friendly hosts & we stayed in “ Silver Birch” one of their 2 garden rooms. Decorated beautifully we felt at home the moment we stepped through the door. There was everything we could need, a comfy bed & pillows, TV with Netflix & a wet room with underfloor heating - devine ! Plenty of storage space, coffee maker & home made “tablet” a nice touch. Breakfast cooked by John was delicious - a full Scottish breakfast including haggis, also fresh berries, yoghurts, cereals, tea & coffee. It was quiet & peaceful with a lovely garden - yet within walking distance of local eateries. Highly recommended for singles or couples but not children."

"Friendly reception on arrival. Was sent a text with a number to meting incase I needed it. Love the tartan carpet. Clean, fresh and well stocked. Extras available if needed for tea, coffee, etc. don’t be put off by the separate shower rooms. They are literally two steps over the hall and robes are provided. Lots of fluffy towels left too. I needed an early start so was left a huge continental breakfast. Remember that the bar is only open Thursday through to Sunday. It is on a busy road but good windows and blackout blinds help. Parking was available outside. Nice green opposite. Great for an overnight stop on my way to Edinburgh."

New Lanark Mill Hotel ★★★★
"Beautiful place. The room was nice, comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. Dinner was okay, but really noisy in the restaurant. I think the mussels was bad. 3/4 of the mussels was not opened when cooked. I ate one that was opened and was still sick 2 hours later. There was a wedding going on. Our room was next to the lift on the top floor. The music was loud, but everything went quiet after midnight. Until maybe some guests come back to their room. Apart from that all was okay. Maybe would be better for wedding guests to get the room by the lift so it doesn't disrupt others."

Rosemount Boutique B&B ★★★★
"We discovered some cousins that lived in Lanark, so we decided to visit during the Lanimers celebrations. One of the best decisions we've ever made! Our cousins were as lovely as the Rosemount B&B with John and Lesley. Perfectly located on the high street a couple of blocks from the cross, but you'd never know you were in the center of a bustling small town with all the plantings and trees on the property. John's an expert gardener and has apparently decided to surround his guests with lush greenery that makes you want to just sit and enjoy the sheer natural beauty of the place. Two rooms are situated in a purpose built outbuilding, so everything is relatively new and very functional. The shower was indeed luxury! plenty of room to unpack and relax between all the Lanimers events. The bed was top-notch. Our door opened onto a small patio with a table and two chairs. It gets even better when you arrive for breakfast! A converted carriage house serves as the kitchen and dining nook. Lesley brings out a coffee pot, orange juice and milk and we're off! Gourmet selections like the Rosemount Stack, Salmon and scrambled eggs and of course the FSB- with haggis, eggs, blood pudding, mushrooms, beans, bacon, sausage and tomatoes. Order the night before so they can have it ready for you in the morning. We didn't need it, but there's a roomy parking lot there. Walk out the driveway and you are mere minutes from Castlebank park, the Cross (presided over by both a statue and wall mural of William Wallace, a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland where there's an ATM, the Taj Mahal where we picked up a delicious pizza, St. Mary's Church, and your choice of shops and cafes. There's a 30-40 minute woodland trail that takes the hiker from Castlebank to New Lanark, well , worth seeing! Anyway, it feels like the Walkers are friends as well as hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed their B&B and their company while we were in Lanark. "
