"Would I stay here again? YES. the only draw back for us was the distance to the subway station - it's an 8-10 minute walk, which includes traversing the large intersection near the hotel. Other than that, the room was well appointed - not big, but large enough for a short stay. Water pressure in bathroom was good. The have bidet toilet seats. I didn't need the laundry room, but they do have one for guests. Special bonus: 7-11 adjacent to hotel for convenient snacking. The lobby was more of a welcome area, rather than a place to hang out."

"I had an exceptional stay at Éclat Hotel Taipei. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed with high-end touches like a Dyson hair dryer and a Nespresso machine. The staff were incredibly attentive and professional, making the check-in process seamless. I also loved the location it’s in the heart of Da’an District, very close to the MRT and surrounded by fantastic restaurants and convenience stores. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Taipei!"

"I was dissappointed because i booked 5 days Sept 15-20 but what they did they ask me to check out on 19 and they said my room # 601 is need to check out i left hotel early morning because of our last tour suddenly they keep on saying that if i cant check out i need to pay 500ntd per hour.. They told to my friend that they need to remove my luggage in my room.. They even ask me sorry or refund the one day.."

"Overall the hostel must go with a managed expectation of easy going and simple minded. Then things will be alright. There are a few floors of 101 Hostel in this building and has three floors includes 5, 9 and 12. Mine is one the 12 which is same floor as reception. The reception is simple and easy and attended to by a pair of boyfriend and girlfriend whom are very young in age. They assigned me to room 8, bed 8 . as a solo traveller, it is easy to go with the flow of the assigned bed and room . In there, one square box for bag and enough for a back pack. The common area was alright with four tables to sit and mingle with other guests. Taking hot water and cold water, need to wal to the backyard. As showering, just two setup and need to come back again if it is in use. Breakfast is simple and basic with two choice of drinks and hard bread and soft bread. When checking out, no allowance is given. 11am means 11am and cannot negitoate, or else pay money."

"I found this place last minute, and the reviews were spot on! My original booking, after a closer look at the reviews, apparently had some... *unwanted guests* 👻😑. So, after a long search, I stumbled upon this gem. The room is small, but perfectly adequate for everything you need. It's fantastic for a family road trip around the island! After a long day, having a bathtub to soak in and relieve the fatigue was wonderful. The location is also excellent, right near the MRT station! Plus, along the way, there are delicious beef noodles, chicken soup, and Taipei 101!"

"We had a really pleasant stay at Charming City Hotel Taipei (during the last week of February 2026). From reading previous reviews, we expected the hotel to be a bit dated, so we didn’t come in expecting a modern or newly renovated space. Because of that, we truly appreciated its character — it really lives up to its name and has its own charm. Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient. Instead of a buffet (which can often lead to food waste), breakfast was catered daily (during our stay) by MOS Burger, offering a variety of wraps and sandwiches along with sides such as dumplings, steamed buns, salad, coffee, tea, breads, and pastries. It was a thoughtful and satisfying approach. The location is excellent — just minutes away from Xinyi Anhe Station, making it very convenient to get around. It’s also within walking distance to Taipei 101 and the Linjiang Night Markets. We stayed in a Standard Twin Room and were happy with the room size. One surprising feature (for a more classic hotel) was the central switchboard used to control the lighting. That said, the shower water pressure was excellent (especially being on the 10th floor) — definitely a highlight. We also appreciated the laundry and ironing facilities available for a small fee (just ask reception for change), which is very convenient for longer stays. One of the best features — and what really adds to the hotel’s charm — is the 24/7 free snacks. There’s a great selection of chips, soft drinks, juices, and tea, which is perfect after a long day out. The area itself is peaceful yet lively and convenient, with a 24-hour Carrefour supermarket, Watsons pharmacy and plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. With the MRT nearby, it’s easy to get to all the main spots around Taipei. We would definitely stay here again and wish all the best to the team at Charming City Hotel! "

"We had a great stay here. There was a minor incident that happened but the duty managers, Lucy and Yuki were quick to make it right. Only small bit I would recommend is for staff at breakfast to be more courteous and polite. The chef in charge of eggs can be grumpy and moody while the male manager at the restaurant could be more polite when informing guests of breakfast coming to an end."

It would be great if the hotel could improve ventilation or perform more frequent maintenance to eliminate the odor. Everything else in the room was satisfactory. For Trip.Best, I think hotel rankings would be even more helpful if they included verified guest comments about cleanliness, noise level, bathroom condition, nearby transportation, and whether disposable amenities are provided. More accurate information about hotel promotions, nearby attractions, and special packages would also improve the booking experience. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at ILLUME TAIPEI and would consider staying here again because of its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and friendly service."

"I've stayed at this hotel multiple times, and its location is incredibly convenient. It only takes about 70 minutes to get here from the airport. While the hotel is quite basic, without many facilities or services, its prime location definitely makes up for it."
