I stayed here for one day before going to Cuenca and it was much better than expected. The most modern hotel I stayed in during my trip to South America. Convenience: The hotel is directly connected to a shopping mall, so you don't have to leave the house for shopping, supermarkets, and meals. There is a dedicated gate to the shopping mall, so the hotel is quiet and undisturbed.

The general experience was good. In considered the stay a bit expensive for Ecuador (79$ for two days incl breakfast). One of the reasons I chose this hotel is because of free drinking water. However, the water is positioned in a way that you can fill up only small cups. So I still had to buy a lot of water bottles outside, which made my stay more expensive than expected. The pool area is beautiful. Service was nice. Location close to the center, I could explore the main tourist attractions (La perla, Malecon, Cementery) by foot. The breakfast is kind of a surprise, you can choose betweeen American and Local. I prefered the local one, the Banana tasted amazing. In advance of my stay I asked for an early check-in at 8 clock, which apparently was not possible. However, my room was ready at about 10.30. Wifi was excellent. Shower had lots of warm water. No mosquito net at the windows and it was not possible to close the windows in my completely.

Guayaquil in Ecuador, if not for the special situation of 2020, Chinese people rarely pass. The hotel is located on the Malecon Riverside (across a local main road) by the famous local Guayas River. The Hilton Colón needs a renovation. They haven't done anything in 10 years, and improvements are already needed. The safe gave me problems, and I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast, as the raspberries had mold. Being able to make fresh fruit and vegetable juice is great. The power went out three times in one night, and the generator took a couple of minutes to start up. The airport shuttle works very well.

Excellent hotel! Only a year old. Clean, good price and a $6 taxi ride from the airport. The malacone is right across the way for morning exercise. The AC was fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel. Great bed. Great pillows. Nice stay for going to the airport.

The front desk staff and the cleaning aunt are very nice and they should be given a raise.
