I had a truly exceptional stay at Hotel Indigo Glasgow and felt compelled to share my experience because the level of service genuinely exceeded my expectations in ways I could hardly imagine.
My check-in experience was incredibly seamless thanks to Erin. Having previously worked in a five-star hotel in St Andrews, I am very familiar with hospitality standards and how hotels usually operate. In many luxury properties, early check-in is rarely guaranteed. Guests are often asked to wait until the official check-in time, sometimes even until 4 pm depending on availability.
I arrived at the hotel around 8 am after a long journey and thought I would simply ask, just in case. I had absolutely no expectation that a room would be available that early. To my surprise, Erin managed to arrange a room for me immediately, and there was no additional charge. I was sincerely grateful, as I had meetings to attend and it would have been very inconvenient to go into the office carrying a suitcase and backpack with my laptop and work materials.
What stood out even more was Erin’s attentiveness. When I mentioned that I required a pet-free room due to allergies, she took the time to acknowledge this and explain how the hotel manages rooms for guests with allergies. I genuinely felt listened to, understood, and supported — never judged or dismissed.
The cleanliness of the room was also excellent. Everything was immaculate, from the bathroom to the bedding and surfaces. As someone who pays close attention to hotel standards due to my own hospitality background, I could immediately see that the housekeeping team maintains a very high level of care — something that even some luxury five-star hotels occasionally fall short on. The room felt fresh, comfortable, and extremely well prepared.
Later that evening when I returned to the hotel, I was assisted by Mark. Again, based on my previous experience in hospitality, I know that late check-outs in many hotels typically come with additional fees — often £24 for 1 pm, £48 for 2 pm, and sometimes up to £60–£100 for a 4 pm checkout. I asked for a late checkout expecting that, if I was lucky, it might be extended to 1 pm. However, Mark was very helpful and kindly extended it to 2 pm, which gave me plenty of time and was something I truly appreciated.
Mark also assisted me in signing up for the rewards programme, and shortly afterwards I received the confirmation email. It really showed how organised, helpful, and considerate the front office team is.
Another moment that really impressed me happened the following day. I briefly left the hotel before checkout and accidentally left my ID and wallet in the room. When I returned, Erin immediately recognised me from the day before. She confirmed my full name and email address and then extended my key card until 2 pm so I could access my room.
Erin explained that normally the policy requires ID for that type of request, but on this occasion she used verbal confirmation because she remembered me from check-in the day before. 🩷 That level of attentiveness and professionalism is rare. It showed that the service was not simply about following procedures or ticking boxes, but about creating a genuine sense of comfort for guests and leaving a lasting impression. In all my interactions with Erin, she was enthusiastic, friendly, and supportive.
The entire experience made the hotel feel welcoming and almost like a home rather than just a place to stay. Erin and Mark are a real credit to the team, and the service I experienced here honestly exceeded what I have seen in many luxury hotels.
I would absolutely recommend Hotel Indigo Glasgow and will gladly stay again, especially as I will be travelling to Glasgow frequently over the next eight months.

Anthony120My stay started very well but ended up being quite disappointing.
On the first day, we were assigned an excellent room. The layout was well designed, with the kitchen located near the entrance, while the bedroom and bathroom were separated further inside. The room also featured a large floor-to-ceiling window facing outside, providing plenty of natural light. At first glance, everything seemed perfect.
Unfortunately, when we tried to take a shower, we discovered that the water pressure in the bathroom was extremely low. It was so poor that even the toilet could not flush properly. We waited for maintenance staff for more than 30 minutes, but the issue was not resolved. A room change was only arranged after we repeatedly requested it.
The replacement room was a major downgrade. Unlike the original room, it had no outward-facing window and instead overlooked an internal courtyard. For privacy reasons, we had to keep the curtains closed most of the time. Even on sunny days, very little natural light entered the room, making the space feel dark and depressing.
The apartment is located close to the railway line, and being on a lower floor made the situation worse. Train vibrations and noise were clearly noticeable, while constant water-flow noise from upper floors could be heard throughout the day and night. The overall experience became quite uncomfortable.
The location itself is convenient, with easy access to the city centre and shopping streets. However, there were frequently groups of unemployed or suspicious-looking individuals around the building entrance. On several occasions, we also noticed people wearing face coverings and individuals who appeared to be targeting passers-by, which raised concerns about personal safety.
Overall, the first room showed that the property has the potential to provide an excellent stay. However, the severe plumbing issue, the poor replacement room, the noise problems, and the surrounding security concerns significantly affected our experience.

Travel Happy RichThe room is nice, clean and cozy. Good for solo traveler cuz I’m afraid of staying in massive room just by myself. Breakfast is alright continental breakfast you can expect. Gym you cannot expect too much. But being able to watch live football in the lobby is a vibe during World Cup period.

Guest UserUnfortunately, this stay did not feel like the level of service we would expect from a Marriott hotel.
There were no major issues with cleanliness, although the bed was quite hard. The main problem was the service. Check-in took a very long time due to issues with the hotel’s system, and we were left standing with our luggage while they tried to resolve everything. On the morning of check-out, housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 a.m., even though we were leaving only an hour later — which felt completely unnecessary.
The staff were not unfriendly, but rather indifferent. There was very little feeling that guests were genuinely welcomed or that the staff were happy to help.
The spa area is also very inconveniently located — you have to walk around 10 minutes to get there, which is particularly strange for something presented as part of the hotel facilities.
The Executive Lounge was probably the biggest disappointment. We have visited Executive Lounges in many other cities, and this was on a completely different level. It was basically an empty room with three bottles of wine, two types of beer, some melted ice, and a TV. Calling this an “Executive Lounge” honestly felt almost absurd and certainly not worth the additional cost.
Breakfast was quite ordinary as well. The more popular items, such as pancakes, had long queues because guests had to prepare them themselves using a very slow machine. The hot breakfast was prepared by one chef, which also created a queue. Salmon was available, but disappeared almost immediately after being replenished. At this level, we would expect a much better selection and service.
Overall, while the hotel itself was clean, the experience simply did not feel like Marriott-level service. We expected something much more polished, attentive, and welcoming, and unfortunately left quite disappointed.

KesonExcellent location, right across Glasgow Central train station. We arrived in the evening and due to overbooked situation for our room category that we booked, we were allocated a smaller room for 1st night. However, Rachel at the reception was very friendly and apologetic and on goodwill, extended 2 breakfast for us. The next day we moved into the room type we booked which was much much more spacious than the we stayed earlier.

We stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.
