"It was very clean and I was able to relax. The TV screen was large and I could watch YouTube and listen to music. I was happy if there was a water service for a PET bottle in the refrigerator in the room. There was tea, but I was a little disappointed that there was no coffee. The large communal bath was a natural hot spring in Suzaka Onsen, so it was very warm. The soba noodles for breakfast were very delicious. I will use it again."

"First of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine. After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy. Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude. Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others."

"I drove here, but the location was excellent, being close to the station, which made it easy to go out for dinner. I was also very impressed with the service. The welcome sweets, all-you-can-eat ice cream, and cake at the breakfast buffet made me very happy. The large public bath was also very relaxing. For this price, the service was outstanding. I would definitely like to stay here again."

"Had a great experience staying at Toyoko-Inn Nagano Higashi-eki. Rooms were clean, housekeeping made sure you have clean towels everyday, breakfast was great. One small problem - they have 3 washing machine but 2 dryers. Great location near JR train stn, plenty to see and shop. We walked to Zenkoji Temple and stumbled upon the Sakura garden and had a mini picnic there. Will definitely come back to this hotel again the next time we come to Nagano!"

"I stayed at this hotel for three days while exploring Nagano. The hotel's location is excellent, right on the west side of the station and practically next door. There's a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, and an overhead pedestrian bridge connects it to the station. After crossing the bridge, a left turn leads directly to Don Quijote, and just down the bridge is the bus stop for Togakushi Shrine. Transportation couldn't be more convenient. The hotel room was very clean, and the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options."

"Perfect location right by Nagano Station , getting around was so easy. There are plenty of places to eat and shop just steps away. The room had everything I needed, and the staff were so sweet and welcoming. Definitely worth every penny. I had a great stay!"

"The facilities are complete, the service is friendly, and the hot springs are great. The shuttle bus is a real highlight. The only issue is that it gets too crowded, so independent travelers should really try to avoid the peak check-in times when tour groups arrive in the evening. The need to queue for meals, especially dinner, needs improvement; it wasn't a great experience."

"The hotel building has a grand feel, and the room was very relaxing. The breakfast buffet was well-balanced and delicious. I also think the staff's service was excellent. I was very satisfied with my two-night stay, as I was able to walk to Zenko-ji Temple for the morning service on both days. There's a Lawson convenience store just a few minutes' walk away, so I could even buy a late-night snack."

"The hotel looks old and isn't particularly striking from the street. However, the Japanese are incredibly meticulous with cleaning, so it's impeccably clean inside. The location is also super convenient (there's a great ramen place in the next building). You'll even find some retro features, like a two-handle faucet and an old TV – very authentic. My only minor complaint is that I couldn't get the air conditioning to cool, only to heat."

"Bed is rather small for 2. Room space hard to move about but we managed since it is for a night stay. Like the cleanliness and amenities provided. Location to the main Nagano station helps! Live up to its hotel's name as staff were very welcoming and they smiled 😀"
