Hotels near Riverside Park in Phnom Penh

We have come to M residence many times and stayed in the hotel and apartment side so we have multiple perspectives. Downsides: The sheets on the bed weren't the cleanest, the table outside was filthy,, mosquitos in the bathrooms terrorized me the first night. I asked for room service but it was already 5pm so they said someone would come and nobody did. The plus sides is this air conditioner works amazingly unlike the one from the apartment I renter here. The hotel provides drinking water, toothbrush, razor, you always have hot water for showers and fast internet. Another thing much better than the apartment was that the hotel room came with a bunch of dishes for cooking and a tea kettle for hot water. The hotel experience would be a perfect score if the room was cleaner and prompt room service when requested. I have to fly out in the middle of the night so I would extend another night but the price rose another 30% so I won't bother, but as someone who has stayed at the M Residence at least 3 times I would recommend it 10 times out of 10, my only advice would be for apartment renters to thoroughly test the bed and airconditioner before signing the lease. The apartments rooms are much better & I highly recommend regardless of the small inconviences The M Residence beats out my favorite hotel in Phnom Penh because it's the best hotel your going to get for tbe price and you get a huge fridge!

Clean and reasonably priced. It's not far from the Central Market, and the service is warm and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance. You can walk to the Royal Palace and the Night Market, and it's lively at night.

One of the only good things about this hotel is its great location. We booked a room with a window ( for an extra fee). Upon check-in we were informed that there is no room with a window available and that if we don't like the room we can request a room change. The receptionist offered no apology as if it is normal to get a room without a window even if you have paid for it. Since we arrived at 8pm we had no option but to accept it. No compensation in any form was offered. The next morning we requested a room change because the room stank of sewage. It was one of the worst rooms I had stayed in my life. The room was dirty and smelly, the walls looked as if they hadn't been painted for a decade and the furniture and bed were in need of renovation. Thankfully we were able to switch rooms but again no compensation was offered. The second room was a bit better.

Hotel was located right in the bar/pubs street with many restaurants around and in front of the riverside promenade which is very convenient for running exercises. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Near to the night market and the Royal Palace.

Overall: Good hostel, well located, and the bar/pool as a highlight. Location: By the riverside, a lively (though somewhat seedy) bar area part of the city. Lots of food options around. Felt safe enough. Room: I got a private room. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Don't leave any food wrappers in the trash or you will get ants in the room. Pool/bar: lots of sunbeds, so it's easy to get a spot. Food and drink was reasonably priced and tasty. Staff: Very friendly. Activities: didn't try the paid activities, but a free Khmer language class was offered on the day I visited, which was interesting.

Clean room, great facilities, greta services, no lcd tv but projector , very satisfaction and will be back to stay again, recommended

Whenever I'm in Phnom Penh, I always book this hotel. It's right in the heart of the bustling downtown, and while it can be a bit noisy, that's part of its charm. There are always tuk-tuks waiting right outside, and you can get to nearby attractions for just over $1. The area around the hotel also boasts a variety of international cuisines, and you can enjoy a meal with Cambodian beer for a very reasonable price. For breakfast, while the selection isn't huge, I'm personally satisfied as there are options like bread and noodles.

No slippers in the room, and I couldn't find the TV remote, only the set-top box remote. The cleanliness needs improvement. On the plus side, the air conditioning is central AC, the soundproofing in the room is good, and the bed is quite comfortable for sleeping.

At first it was a bit confusing, because after checking in, I had to go out to the street again to go to the hotel lobby. Unfortunately the air con wasn't working, but the staff helped me to change to another room. I find that the the toilet did not allow toilet paper to be flushed down, so it was a bit inconvenient. Overall, I still liked the place, - as the room was quite comfortable, and there was a small pantry. - the restaurant had decent food and faced the river, and this was quite refreshing

I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is safe, comfortable, and conveniently situated in the Riverside district. It has a good cost performance (i.e. price-to-quality ratio). Not everything is perfect, but the staff makes up for it, they are friendly and helpful (special shout-out to Nita who is fantastic, she is the nicest person and she helped me with all my requests). I originally booked a basic room until I found out a few days ahead the room had no window (I did not read the description carefully enough), so I upgraded for a “standard double room” with window. The first room I moved into did not have hot water. The hotel was not able to fix it, so eventually they moved me to another room where the hot water worked, which was great. The room did not have a chair and desk, but I asked the staff and they brought one. At some point, Nita helped me arrange a laundry load. It was done overnight and cost 3 dollars, so it seems the laundry is outsourced to a nearby business. At night, the street can be a little loud, there are many bars, KTVs and nightclubs located here. But it did not bother me, I could sleep through it easily. Many of the bars have hordes of pretty women who, beginning at dusk, sit outside and come ask you to drink with them. They get your attention by shouting “hello”, “come here”, “handsome” and “bong” (mister) as you are walking by. In any event, this did not bother me, I never actually felt harassed and could come and go the hotel as I pleased. The description mentioned the room would have a minibar, but my room didn’t have one. Probably I could have asked for it, but I realized I didn’t need one. One morning, there was a visit by the police, they were checking visas and passports from all foreign hotel guests. This was unexpected, but it went smoothly. Overall, I’m very happy with my stay and would probably come here again. Not everything is perfect, but I give it 4.5 stars (4 stars for the price/quality/location plus an extra half-staff bonus for the staff, especially Nita).
