Hotels near Insadong in Seoul

I had a pleasant stay at Ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong. Upon check-in, I requested to change my room from a twin to a double, and the staff were very accommodating and handled it smoothly, which I really appreciated. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The hotel’s location is also a big plus, convenient and well-situated for exploring the area. Overall, a great experience with helpful service, cleanliness, and a good location. I would definitely consider staying here again.

This hotel is right in the middle of the Insadong and 5 mins walk from the nearest subway station. Near lots of tiny restaurants and shops. No frills so don’t expect anything special. Just clean and good for a short stay.

Good value for money and clean.

We stayed at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for 3 days and 2 nights, and later booked another 2 days and 1 night after our staycation at Nami Island. • Front desk service: The staff spoke English well and were very accommodating. They kindly allowed us to store our luggage during our Nami Island trip since we had another booking at the same hotel. • Room quality: The room was clean and spacious. However, I personally didn’t like the wooden floor—it felt a bit uncomfortable to walk on without room slippers. • Location: The hotel is centrally located in the city, within walking distance to Bukchon Hanok Village and Gyeongbokgung Palace, and close to several subway stations. • Food options nearby: Plenty of choices, from traditional Korean BBQ to fast food like Burger King. Just note that many restaurants close around 9–10 PM. ✨ Overall: A convenient city hotel with friendly staff, good service, and easy access to major attractions. The luggage storage service was especially helpful for our trip planning.

This hotel has 3 main advantages: 1. Excellent team of administrators, always ready to help 2. Location perfect: historic center of Insadon, near 3 metro stations, one literally opposite the hotel 2. Soft mattress, pillows and blankets. Ideal location to Bunchon khanok Village 15 minutes walk, to Mendon 20, all nearby. I will definitely stop again

Location is one of the best consider the price which is very affordable. I stay for 5nights however as they do not have many rooms, I think just 1-3 rooms per room types, they tend to sold out quite fast, which for my case, I have to change room type 3 times for the 5 nights stay. Some room is very small, which is expected for the price and the location. Plus point is that, a huge window to look outside. Room heating is also good during winter time, also room is clean and tidy. Only negative is that as I have to check out at 12pm and re check in again at 3pm if u have different room type, and staff may have different instructions on where to store your luggage. However they will bring it luggage to the room once it’s available which is good. Overall, for that pricing, no complaints.

The room is warm enough during winter Dec and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast choices are limited. Their cheesecake is nice. We can refill drinking water and hot water at the lobby receptionist area. We are sad that we couldn't have the hanbok experience during our visit. It is supposed to provide free hanbok experience for photo shooting. They just told me that it was sent for cleaning. We stayed 3 nights, and the hanboks are not available :( Lastly, the rate for a luxury room is a bit over priced. Their location is able to walk to nearby attractions but we have to walk a lot. 15-20mins walk to hanok village.

Housekeeping is supposed to be available on certain days but it was not attentively done. Beds were simply made without changing of linens unless there is a request to do so. Floors were not cleaned with strands of hair visibly seen and stained. Mold was everywhere at the edges of the shower area. Cupboards and tables showed age and are really in need of a change. There was no supply of slippers as well. Fresh towels and clearing of rubbish need to be requested as they do not provide automatically. There are some good points though. There is a washer/dryer and all cooking/heating essentials are available. The fridge is very big also. In addition, staff at the reception speak good English so there was no issue in communication. Location is at heart of Insadong and there are 2 convenience stores outside the hotel for simple food fare and amenities to get. Coffee Bean is right in the hotel for quick coffee break.

A small, cozy hotel in a charming neighborhood just steps from the Cheonggyecheon Stream embankment. The hotel is on the 4th floor, with reception on the 5th floor, and there's an elevator, which is important if you have luggage. The room is tiny, but has everything you need; it's very bright and has a window. The room has a bathroom and shower, and despite its small size, everything was quite convenient. The room is clean, towels are changed, and you can do them yourself on your floor at any time. The hotel is quiet; we've never had any problems. There's a shared kitchen on the 5th floor, which is also very clean and spacious, equipped with all the necessary utensils, chairs, a countertop, snacks, tea, a free unlimited coffee machine, and two washing machines. Check-in is instant, and they provide a second set of access cards if needed, which is very convenient. The area around the hotel offers a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and the subway is a 1-minute walk away. Myeongdong Shopping Mall is about a 10-minute walk away. I'd like to especially mention the hotel staff, they are very nice people, very kind, polite, and attentive. Thank you very much for your work, we really enjoyed staying with you, and good luck!

I recently stayed at Insadong Crown Hotel during my solo trip to Seoul, and it was the perfect choice. As a solo traveler, location and safety are very important to me — and this hotel delivered on both. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Insadong, within walking distance of traditional shops, cozy cafés, street food spots, and subway stations. It made exploring the city so easy, even on my own. I always felt safe walking around the area, even in the evening. The room was clean, comfortable, and just the right size for one person. After long days of sightseeing, it was nice to return to a quiet and cozy space to rest. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever I had questions about directions or recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend Insadong Crown Hotel for anyone traveling solo. It offers comfort, convenience, and great value in one of Seoul’s most charming neighborhoods.
