"This was a quick trip to Seoul for my husband and me. Since we hadn't planned much, we just randomly chose this hotel. We happened to find it in a fantastic location, just a 2-minute walk from Exit 8 of Gwanghwamun subway station. Here's my impression of our three nights: the hotel space and rooms were spotless, like new, and smelled wonderful; the facilities were complete, with a mini cafe bar on the 5th floor offering free food and coffee, a microwave, water heater, washing machine, dryer, etc. It had all the basic amenities you'd expect for a small place, and even things you wouldn't normally think of. And importantly, the hotel staff (that chubby guy who might be the owner) were incredibly helpful. I remember on our first night, our flight was late, and even though we had informed the hotel beforehand that we might not check in until around 11 pm, the staff member was still waiting at the front desk until we arrived – we really felt their sincerity. Then one night, we came back from outings and forgot our room key in the room. Unable to enter, we had to call the hotel staff to explain our situation (there were no staff at the hotel that night). And incredibly, the staff member arrived within 10 minutes to rescue us. Thankfully, his help saved us from having to sleep on the streets that night 🤣 We really felt the staff's dedication to their guests, and we are very grateful to them! In conclusion, this hotel is incredibly good value for money, so I give it a full 5 stars. I would definitely recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Seoul!"

"We stayed at this hotel with our family of three at the end of September. For Korea, the room size was quite comfortable – there was enough space to easily walk between the beds and store suitcases underneath. The hotel is new, clean, and every detail is well thought out. We were particularly pleased with its location (in the center of Seoul) and the owner's attentiveness: we were treated to sweets and received help with all our questions. The common kitchen has everything you need – a washing machine with free pods, a dryer, a kettle, instant noodles, and snacks. Of all our stops during our two-week trip across Korea, we remember this one with special fondness. The owner is a very welcoming and pleasant person."

"The location is great. It's very convenient for getting around and sightseeing, being close to downtown attractions like Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun, Cheonggyecheon Stream, and major companies. I had some reservations when choosing accommodation in this price range, as many places tend to be old or not very clean. However, this place was perfect for a simple overnight stay after a full day of activities. The overall room condition was clean and satisfactory, including the bed, bathroom, and common areas. I had some difficulty with the self-check-in process late at night and reached out for help. I was very grateful for the kind assistance I received from the staff. I had a pleasant stay and would definitely like to use this place again on my next visit."

"I called this hotel to inquire before I even arrived in Korea. Even though the staff didn't speak Chinese, they went out of their way to find a Chinese tourist to help me translate. I was incredibly touched by their kindness and gentle demeanor, and immediately decided to stay here. My stay didn't disappoint. It's super close to the bus stop, right across the street, and also very close to the airport bus stop, which is right next to the hotel. It's only two bus stops away from Myeongdong, which is fantastic, and the subway station is also within walking distance. You can even walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace, which is great. Check-in was easy, with instructions in Chinese. The room, although a bit small, was very clean and hygienic. The common area had hot and cold water readily available. The washing machine and dryer were also easy to use. They even provided power adapters – everything you could think of was here. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Seoul."

"The location is excellent, making it convenient to get to Myeongdong, Hongdae, and Seongsu, with plenty of food options downstairs. Self-check-in was very convenient, and there's a washing machine and cooking area in the common space. The downsides are that there are many bars nearby, so solo female travelers should be extra careful at night. Also, the facility instructions are only in Korean and English; it would be much more user-friendly if Chinese signs were added."

"The Seoul Garden Hotel is an older establishment. It seems like a lot of Chinese tourists book here after seeing reviews, perhaps from 'seniors,' mentioning that some front desk staff speak Chinese, haha! It's also conveniently located; just a straight walk from Exit 3 of Mapo Station, past two small intersections, and you'll spot it. We arrived very late from Busan that night to check in. All the front desk staff processing check-ins were middle-aged men in Hawaiian shirts (I later noticed over the next few days that their front desk seemed to be entirely staffed by middle-aged men, all wearing Hawaiian shirts, haha...). Over at Glad Hotel, it's all handsome young men and beautiful women with sweet smiles – much more pleasant to look at. The staff member who assisted us didn't speak Chinese but could speak English. My son was very tired and tried to sit on a chair. The chair didn't have sound-dampening pads, and he didn't sit properly, so it hit the front desk. I told him to be gentle, as it was noisy. Then, the front desk uncle gave me a disdainful look and said in English, ”DON'T PLAY THE CHAIR!” The room had a 1.8-meter large bed. The room wasn't big, which is understandable. However, there was no wet/dry separation, it had an old-fashioned bathtub, and the smart toilet lid would fall off if you touched it. Also, one of the buttons was broken. The cleaning auntie fixed it by banging on it with her fist a couple of times. It was quite clean, though, with no strange odors. The lobby is quite spacious, and the restaurant on the first basement floor is where locals come to dine."

"We booked a quad room for two girlfriends and two older kids for a 5-night stay. We didn't want to be exhausted during the day and then not sleep well at night. This hotel happened to have four beds, which was perfect for us. We checked in late, almost at midnight. Initially, they assigned us an old, rundown room on the 8th or 9th floor. As soon as I walked in, there was this unpleasant smell, like someone who hadn't showered in a while had been staying there. The whole room had this dark, moody vibe, like something out of a Wong Kar-wai film, or an old, creepy hotel room from a vintage Hong Kong horror movie. Plus, three beds were on one side, and the fourth bed was in a separate alcove, like a hidden bed. I was so speechless at the time that I forgot to take photos, but it was so dim and eerie that I didn't even want to. I immediately called the front desk and told them we couldn't accept the room and asked for a change. The front desk said they didn't have any more quad rooms. I then suggested a twin room instead. The front desk fiddled around for about a minute and then told me they had another room, which would be a bit smaller than the current one (though it actually turned out to be bigger than that 'horror movie' room). I said we'd go take a look first, and that's the quad room shown in the picture. The room was quite spacious, and it even had a Japanese-style raised platform where we could sit and eat. The front desk told me at the time that I'd have to pay an extra fee, a few hundred or a few thousand Korean Won, I don't remember exactly. Given the situation, I had to agree. However, I mentioned to the front desk that the previous room had that unpleasant smell. The front desk said he'd go check it out, and if it really did, he wouldn't charge the extra fee. He took the room card and seriously went to investigate. When I asked him again later, he said I didn't need to pay the extra charge. The hotel's location is just average. From the airport, you take bus 6015 to the drop-off point, then you have to walk forward, cross the road, and go through a very long alley to reach the hotel. I tried taking the subway once. Although the subway station sign seemed close, you have to walk a very, very long way once you're down in the station (all Korean subways are like this). I don't recommend it. I took the hotel shuttle to Myeongdong once, which was quite convenient, but you have to keep track of the schedule. There's a CU convenience store right downstairs from the hotel, but there's an older man working there who isn't very friendly towards Chinese people. Overall, for the five days we stayed, apart from the initial room change hassle, it was acceptable. The cleanliness was probably on par with a typical 7 Days Inn in China back in the day."

"Just a 2-minute walk from Gongdeok Station. It's recommended to use the exits with escalators (Exits 2, 7, and 9). The room was clean, and there was a long desk by the bedside, which was convenient for various tasks. Bath towels, face towels, bath mats, bathrobes, and other amenities were provided (and replaced with new ones during the second day's cleaning). The only inconveniences I felt were the absence of a clock and a humidifier. Also, on the second night, I needed ice due to feeling unwell, and when I asked the front desk, they said, ”The restaurant has closed, so we cannot provide ice.” Fortunately, there's a 7-Eleven on the first floor where you can buy it. There are three Olive Young stores nearby, which was very convenient as I could immediately take my purchases back to the hotel room. Gongdeok Station is also a stop for the Airport Railroad, making it very convenient for travel. You can reach Hongik University Station and Seoul Station with a single train ride."

"The location is a huge plus, just a few minutes' walk from Gongdeok Station. It's only one stop on the airport express to Seoul Station, and very convenient for getting to Hongdae and Myeongdong. The room was quite clean, which was reassuring. The downsides are that the standard double bed is only 1.54 meters wide and sags a bit in the middle. The facilities are pretty basic, and the service was just average, nothing special. Overall, the location and cleanliness justify the price. There are smoking areas on the 3rd and 23rd floors, which is a nice touch and very convenient for smokers."

"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! 👍 The only downside is that the room is a bit small. The front desk staff speak English, and the cleanliness is decent; I always bring my own disposables anyway. Myeongdong is right downstairs, with large Olive Young beauty stores and CU convenience stores. Shopping and dining are incredibly convenient. If you turn left out of the hotel, Myeongdong Station Exit 5 is a 1-minute walk. If you turn right, Lotte Duty-Free and Shinsegae Duty-Free, along with department stores, are less than a 10-minute walk away. The subway and taxis are also super convenient nearby. The 6015 airport limousine bus goes directly to the hotel! 👍👍👍"
