Beautifully restored heritage building in the center of old Riga. The classic feature of the original architecture have been preserved and complimented with a modern interior design with clean Nordic style. Rooms have a foldout sofa bed, great for families. Breakfast is simple but high quality ingredients and attentive staff. Recommend the fresh croissants and salmon and raspberry smoothies. Location in center of old town on a charming street just close enough to great restaurants and bars but quiet enough to get a good sleep.

I stayed at Wellton Riga Hotel & Spa for two nights. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is within walking distance of the Old Town, shopping areas, restaurants and cafés, and it is also very easy to reach from Riga Airport by bus. The room itself was generally clean, but the carpet had several strange stains, which gave a poor first impression. Before my arrival, I specifically requested a quiet room, but unfortunately this request was not taken into consideration at all. My room was located right next to the elevators, so I could hear guests coming and going throughout the day and evening. The room was also noisy because of traffic outside, and there is a backpackers' pub below the hotel where people were partying loudly late into the night. If you are a light sleeper, I would strongly recommend requesting a room away from the elevators and the street. The staff were polite enough, but I often felt they were rather dismissive and tended to argue instead of listening when concerns were raised. The customer service did not feel particularly welcoming. The breakfast offered a large selection, but most of it consisted of sweet pastries, cakes and sugary items. I was hoping for more fresh and healthy options. Although the variety looked impressive at first glance, I found the breakfast disappointing overall. In my opinion, the hotel does not quite meet the standard I would expect from a four-star hotel. The excellent location is definitely its strongest point, but the noise, breakfast and customer service made the overall experience less enjoyable.

An extraordinary building ; one of the most architecturally impressive hotels in which I can remember staying, with wonderfully helpful staff and a location that can not be bettered -- with a commendable breakfast. Five stars ! But then . . . Beautifully configured and equipped rooms but, constraints on urban buildings being what they are, and the architects having elected a stunning central skylit air- and light-well, our room, at least, had no window. Where was one to be placed, after all ? The air-conditioning worked well, but truly fresh air was not available. The housekeeping staff had neglected the bathroom attached to the room that we used. Hair, a cotton-tipped applicator stick, and -- simply -- dirt were on the tiles. This can happen. It was very different from the rest of the experience of the stay. But there it was. Have a look around when you check in. Ask for a repeat cleaning of your room if you think one is necessary. Enjoy your stay.

Paid extra, service very poor. Arrived to check-in, nobody to serve, no receptionist at the desk. Did wait around 10 minutes, gave a call, no answer, but the receptionist arrived. Then went to their restaurant, very vague service. No cocktails on the meniu (that's what we came for), asked and then the waiter gave separate cocktails menu. Finally came back to room and realised my bed sheet is dirty! Went to reception and asked to change it since we just arrived. Same person from reception came with new duvet and linen, had replace myself, meaning lack of staff if the same person does everything within entire hotel. Breakfast decent, saw people drinking wine, but it wasn't marked as it's included in the breakfast or not and bottle sits aside from all the breakfast on the bar table.

The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was quite clean and newly refurbished however there were too many basic errors and design choices / management choices that are not up to the level of the other 5 star hotels in Riga. The mini bar was ridiculously expensive I mean 2 or 3 times as much as other hotels in the city and they had the nerve to charge me for a drink I don’t consume. They have apologised since and I’m waiting on a refund. The tiny tub if almonds were listed for 14 euros for example. No hooks in the bathroom for clothes, no shower screen on the bath, limited buffet options for breakfast but decent Al a carte options, furniture in room not comfortable, no proper wardrobe, rug in the room but covered by the bed, no teapots or large mugs for tea. My advice is only stay if the rate is about 1/2 of the other 5 star hotels in Riga.

The hotel has value for money in the old town area of Riga. Check in was smooth and we were able to get into our room quickly to drop off our bags and get to Arena Riga for an ice hockey game with limited time to get there. The location is very central to the sites of Riga's old town and there are some very good restaurants nearby. There are quite a few convenience stores and souvenir shops nearby but they close fairly early. The hotel has a very interesting feeling to it with exposed brick walls and original/restored wood beams and stairs. We appreciated that it also had an elevator to get to the top floor we stayed on. We booked the twin room and had a pleasant stay and the room was quiet enough to get a good night's rest despite the bars nearby. The beds were comfy but the pillows were a little thin. The room had a fully stocked mini bar with decent prices which would help if we got desperate for drinks. There was a large wardrobe and a small work desk in the room too. There were also plugs conveniently placed around the room so we could get all our devices charged. The bathroom was quite large and we appreciated the hot shower and towel warmer. They provide handsoap and a body/hair gel for the shower. The rooms have air conditioning and the windows open to help with the stuffiness. The twin rooms have a slanted ceiling so my short wife had the bed on the slanted side and had no issues. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the variety of food brought out both mornings. They had hot items which changed a bit each day and included an egg omelette, bacon, potatoes, a Latvian pancake and sausages. There was a good spread of cold items too and we are sure a vegetarian would be satisfied with the offerings of vegetables, cheeses, devilled eggs and fruit. The coffee machine made a very good hot chocolate and they also provided juice and water with breakfast. There is a bar behind the check in counter that is open to hotel guests and a nice seating area in the lobby too if you're looking for something more later. There is a sauna at the hotel but we weren't sure if it was open during our stay or what time it did open because there were no hours posted and we didn't get a chance to ask the staff. There is very limited free parking near the hotel and it seemed like the same local parked in front of the hotel each day. We would recommend taking the bus from the airport if you have the time but if you're in a hurry Bolt is pretty affordable in Riga to get around. There are car rentals north of the hotel and Bolt works in old town to book electric scooters and cars which was pretty convenient during our visit in Riga.

A bit far from the Riga old town and requires quite a bit of walk, meanwhile close to Lidl, which is a good thing. The room is pretty good but part of the floor has noise with it. The kitchen is very very nice, you can find all of the common kitchenware and cook a good meal out from them, the plates and bowls are also completely not oily, which is very unexpected and very nice.

Very friendly and helpful staff, hotel room was clean and comfortable. Decent location, a bit far from all the touristy places and stuff. However, the hotel is situated right next to a tram line which is a big bonus. Only downside is that it lacked the amenities, however it was stated upon booking, so I cannot complain.

The location was good, most tourist spots were within walking distance and there was a shopping mall nearby, so it was convenient. The room was clean and the check-in and check-out service was also good.

Lovely old hotel within 20 mins walking distance from the old town, central market, bus station, and train station. This hotel is near a Lido restaurant that opens at 10am, the Red Line tram stations, bus stops, KGB museum. Art Nouveau district is nearer to here than old town . Loving the antique vibes. The room has creaky floor boards, but room is clean. Bathroom has basic toiletries and hair dryer. Bed mattress is firm. Bedsheets are very clean and towels are changed daily. Thanks to the friendly staff who are fast to respond. You can borrow a kettle from the reception if you need to boil hot water. Bar doesn’t open past 10pm, but you can have a drink there during the day. Restaurant was undergoing renovation when I was there. The building contains some rental apartments and companies, and you can hear sounds from the corridor (there are public WC along each corridor). This place is recommended for people who appreciate the old school vibes and don’t mind the noise of people walking past.
